Flashpointe dance fed into every reason why my family encouraged me not to put my daughter in ballet. They expect perfect 3 year olds. My 3 year old ran in class and was recently kicked out of class twice. Then i received an email that she was a danger to other kids and to herself for running so she was asked not to participate in the final recital. No offers to give private lessons, no flexibility and no compassion. My 3 year old is really upset and they have crushed her spirit and mine. To make things worse, grandparents bought plane tickets to come and see this recital. She could not make the rehearsal due to a vacation we planned 6 months ago. They just told us about the rehearsal just a few weeks ago!!! This place is incredibly disorganized, unprofessional and their expectations for 3 year olds is frankly ridiculous. Flashpointe dance- you may brag to everyone that you have a dancer on a major television show but you could care less about my 3 year old or any other imperfect 3 year old who loves to dance. While I personally don't interact with them directly, her distress caught my attention. Despite her typically social nature, she felt ignored when trying to greet the instructors before class. The only warm welcome seemed to happen at the start of the class, which, in my opinion, doesn't feel very welcoming. I've also received some nit-picky comments about my daughter's behavior, like 'she doesn't like to share' or 'she didn't listen in class,' and given her age, I expect some of these behaviors. Moreover, in instances where my daughter was crying during class, the teachers didn't address or try to soothe her. I had to physically remove her to calm her down. There was even a class where a girl pulled my daughter's hair, and the teacher scolded her for pushing back, which seemed unfair. After my daughter started yelling, I decided it was the last straw and chose to withdraw her from the course.
