The front desk receptionist was a computer screen w someone not there. I called to see if the dentist could do a checkup on my toddler and made an appointment based on the fact they didn't force X-rays upon new patients I drove an hour to get there for them to tell me they wouldn't see her unless X-rays were taken. Why do babies need unnecessary X-rays? And apparently if you refuse fluoride they treat you badly. If they looked at her mouth and she needed X-ray for treatment that would have been fine but forcing unnecessary treatment before anything is assessed? To get more money? Cool. Then a friend told me this office forcefully shoved tools in her toddlers mouth until she was choking and crying and screaming and they wouldn't stop. They both were traumatized. Absolutely the worst place ever. Total waste of time. Appointment was set for 3pm, and all the forms that were available were completed ahead of time. But somehow, their useless staff didn't bother to upload everything. So the forms didn't even show up in the portal until 30 minutes later. After all that, we were told my special needs daughter would still have to wait even longer. She was never even seen. The staff are rude, lazy, and completely incompetent. This place is trash. Save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else. read more

I was asked for a $200 copay even though I have two insurances for my daughter. They did not submit claims or read benefits properly. Very incompetent and borderline scammy. Will not be returning after multiple attempts to resolve the issue. I was asked for $200 copay several times, even though she's under 13 and covered %100 for approved procedures. Sadly have to start process over with another dentist due to their stubborness and incompetence. Follow up with your insurance if your out of pocket seems high. Seemed like a wilful misreading and bad claim filing to squeeze more money from the visits. read more

I brought two of my kids here for general dentistry about 2 years ago, at the time it was fairly minimalist service, but I didn't mind that, because we really only need the basics.... However this year when we arrived for their cleaning we were not greeted by a receptionist, but instead a face on a screen from their call center.... It was extremely off putting and did not make their office welcoming or calmer in any way. Then we scheduled two fillings which they would not do in one visit because they were in different quadrants, I do understand this, but even the dentist there said they probably wouldn't even need novacaine to do them this negating that need for two different appointments, but we scheduled the TWO.... Jump forwards to appointment number one in which there actually was no need for novacaine and the dentist was able to do both in one sitting... So we cancelled the second. Or so I thought... Two weeks later I get a reminder call at and text about the spinning that had been cancelled.... Didn't even get me started about the oral surgery out of Rocklin.... The assistant Regigi was rude and unprofessional. She yelled my daughter's diagnosis across the room in front of other families. She seemed stressed and overwhelmed trying to help all the families waiting area. She wouldnt answer any questions that my daughter had asked her directly. She just said make more appointments. They should have someone behind the desk to help people, not someone on a screen. read more

We have been coming here for years. They are always accommodating and sweet when making appointments and moving them around which we sometimes need to do. The hygienists are helpful and sweet and the doctors are kind and helpful. We will continue coming here for all of the dental needs of our kid's. read more

Brought my son in for a consultation for a tooth extraction that other dentists kept pushing off. They scheduled him for 3 hours later same day to extract the tooth. So sweet and generous. Our child has been seen at this location for several years. Never has one dentist from Make A Smile referred them to the orthodontist when they clearly are in need for braces. When I called to make a consultation appointment, a male employee wasn't helpful, wasn't informative, nor polite in explaining how we have to have a referral in order to receive a consultation. He proceeded to talk to me like I was incompetent, which resulted in me being rude back. This establishment has never been a satisfied visit, but it's the only place nearby that takes our insurance. Going to another dentist & orthodontist who'll actually help our child. **If you have other choices for your child's dental, I highly recommend going elsewhere with better expertise, customer service & communication. This place barely gets 2 stars from several years as a patient.** read more

This office is terrible. If I were you I would never even bother going. They are trying to tell me I owe them money after telling me the visit was free which was just a chat with the doctor and they applied silver to my daughters teeth which they said is 25$ but since she was a certain age the visit was free and so was the silver application. Then upon finding out we will not be returning they are now trying to charge me not $25 but $50 with and added 25$ late fee?? Their equipment is old and office looks cheap. The doctor we talked to didn't seem to be very professional in her attitude and in how she spoke with us. I care for my daughters health and this office just t doesn't cut it so if you have a chance to find another office please do so! I am greatly disappointed and upset by this and wouldn't want anyone else to be also! They did after all resolve the issue by taking off this ridiculous payment. However the lady on the phone with me barely let me say a word, spoke over me constantly and in the end even this conversation was very unprofessional and a low grade experience over all. read more

Horrible. My daughters went to Make A Smile for years and all was great until I switched doctors and the X-rays I transferred showed that the cavities they were trying to set appointments to fill were non existent. In fact the cavity they filled just before we left, that turned into a root canal was also not a cavity. I had a second and third opinions to verify. When I tried to remedy the situation with them directly they denied even with the X-rays in hand and no further response was given. Beyond awful! read more

My son was initially very excited to go to the dentist. The hygienist that we had several times was not what I would call kid friendly, seemed annoyed during cleaning, kept reminding him that he needed to be better than last time. For a little kid I feel like he did a pretty good job. I work with kids in healthcare so I'm familiar with this. He ended up throwing up after she gagged and him and her only response was I can usually gag them a couple times before that happens. No I'm sorry buddy or anything. He is now terrified of going to the dentist. After he threw up they did give him a new shirt but the exam by the dentist was limited and rushed. I tried to ask questions at the end and was dismissed. The office is set up cute with fun kids games and movies for them to watch. We will not be returning, oh and the records request is a nightmare too. read more

The kids get excited when we are coming up on our dentist appointments. Everyone here is great and help my kids to relax and enjoy their visits. They always have fun movies playing and video games for my older kids. And they love getting a little toy before they leave. That kids love all of that but I love the detail in cleaning and keeping track of the health of my kid's teeth. I highly recommend Make a Smile for any child! read more

We've been to a few different dentists in auburn and this is my sons favorite! He loves the dentist and every assistant he's ever had! He also loves the tvs on the ceiling to help distract him and he can play video games while we wait. Which is never long! Definitely recommend this practice they're awesome!!!! read more

My daughter went in for a sealant. The sealant was not done properly and under the sealant formed a cavity. Now she has to go in for a root canal at 10 because of poor quality. She brushes twice a day and no amount of brushing would stop a cavity under a sealant. Do you know how painful a root canal is for a 10 year old? Don't go to this company! read more

Terrible customer service. They didn't bother to call and let me know that there was a problem with the insurance until 2 minutes before the appointment- yes, 2 minutes. I had already made the 25 minute drive into town and was pulling in the parking lot. Wasted an hour of my time not to mention the wasted gas. I'll find another dentist that actually values my time. read more
