Attended the Henry Kapono concert at this venue. I have not been here since about 2003. I am a…read morelocal. The vibe of the venue is "nostalgic vintage meets a saloon meets rock & roll". Cool photo ops all around. They had a trivia game scrolling over the bar which is always fun. Lots of lounge seating great for smaller groups to drink and chat. That being said there were some things I didn't anticipate and wasn't prepared for: -not enough accessible parking very busy for a Friday night. When I arrived at 6:45pm valet parking was already full -no AC in the venue- two ceiling fans. It was unbelievably hot inside. -seating at the tables near the stage requires dinner service and there were 10 adults seated at an 8 ft table. Just impossible. The tables were end to end. No space to move. I was seated between two men and our shoulders were touching and everyone is trying to eat dinner. I was having a panic attack so my friend got us moved. -the meal was ok and so were the drinks. We had to purchase dinner and 2 drink minimum in addition to the price of the concert ticket. I knew this when I made the purchase but had no idea what the food was going to be like. - my meal was blackened Salmon. Which was good but a very small piece of salmon. The garlic mashed potatoes were ok however my veggies weren't steamed they were too hard. The entree was $42. No salad, bread or dessert option. I think this was very pricey for what I received. Despite what bothered me above. I had a great time after we moved our seats away from the stage and got to finish our meal with some elbow room. There isn't a bad seat in the entire venue so I am not sure why they cramped all the tables like they do. The space allows for lots of walking around so you can visit with friends- which I did. The venue is accessibility friendly. The entertainment was amazing and I have to mention all the staff working that night were very accommodating. They checked on me a few times. The staff Zoe, Ryan and Marco were all so very helpful. Including Robin the sound engineer-he was friendly as well. I will return if another act I want to see is playing at The Canyon Club. Now I know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

Before my most recent show, it was a venue I looked forward to visiting. However, it had been a bit of time since I was last at the club and things have changed. Unfortunately, after the show I attended on July 31, I may not be back. Please note that this review is for the venue only, not the show itself. While there is a large parking lot, and parking is free, it was very difficult to find a space. We drove around for about 15 minutes before we were able to see someone leaving a parking space that we could grab. On the day of the concert, the temperature was 100° F outside, or possibly a bit higher. When we arrived at the venue, we found that it does not have refrigerated air conditioning - just some fans. It was uncomfortably hot inside. If I had known this would be the case, I'd have brought a portable personal fan. It's hard to believe that a venue that holds up to 1,200 people does not have legit air conditioning. For those that would like a seat, you have to purchase dinner along with your concert ticket. The dinner selections are very limited and pricey. There is no longer drink service at the tables, so you must head to the bar for drink orders. Since the tables are packed so tightly together, this is not the most convenient situation for patrons. Also, if you use a credit card for your purchases, you will be charged an extra service fee. The bartenders Gus, Zack, and Lindsay were great. They provided friendly service and were a lot of fun. I felt bad that they had to endure the uncomfortable hot working conditions while taking care of everyone. I rarely leave a one-star review. It is really a shame that the club owners don't value their guests and artists to keep the venue comfortable. For the price of tickets, food, and drinks, we really deserve a better experience.

This was a favorite place for my friends and I to go to back in the 90's to 2000s. We went to listen to music and eat great food!! We decided it had been too long since coming here, so we wanted to check it out again. The owner, Arturo, and his daughter were absolutely delightful! There was a small error in what we ordered, and it wasn't anything serious either, but the owner Arturo, came over to our table and felt terrible. He wanted nothing but the best service for his customers! He proceeded to give us desserts on the house and checked back to be sure everything was great, asked if there was anything else he could do, etc... He is so gracious and kind that it was just so exceptionally nice. I apologize that it took a while to get to this review, but it definitely did not go unnoticed. Thank you again for helping to make our friend's birthday so special!! We will definitely be back next time we come to Calabasas!! :)

Downstairs, there are two dance floors, a stage for live bands, a bar, and plenty of seating. Upstairs, there's another dance floor and bar, which helps give everyone more space. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the music is great. Most of the bartenders I interacted with were okay--not overly friendly, but not rude either. The bar can get very busy, so it seemed like they were focused on serving customers as efficiently as possible. I also learned that they offer free dance classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad I finally discovered this hidden gem so close to home! P.S. Definitely wear boots or comfortable shoes. It's more of a boots-and-dancing kind of place than a high-heels vibe, and you'll be much more comfortable enjoying the night

The inside is exactly as you'd expect for a country saloon: large dance floor, tons of country-themed decoration, and a full-service bar. They even have billiards upstairs! We came here because they had free line dance lessons starting at 7PM and 8PM. We decided to join the 8PM session and it was sooo fun! It may have been an intermediate class (or I just suck) because the moves seemed pretty difficult. Tons of fun regardless. They even had a live band starting at around 9PM. NOTE: If you want to order food or drinks at the bar, there's a $20 minimum at the bar for card and the restaurant upstairs is cash only. They do have an ATM by the front entrance but it charges I believe a $3.50 service fee. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to test your line dance moves and have a good old country time.

I've only been a small handful of times since 2021, but was nice to come back in again on a date night. This long-standing all inclusive lgbtq+ space is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this week as well as the birthday of one of it's awesome bartenders ChrisTopher, who served us up some great drinks tonight. This dive bar meets billiard bar meet karaoke lounge (two nights a week - Sunday and Thursday) meets double patio areas and more is a neighborhood favorite. When I lived down the street it was one of my favorite places to go whether walking along Reseda Blvd up to the street entrance or down Hart St to Canby Avenue through the patio and back door/main entrance via it's shared parking lot with neighboring businesses including a large music studio in an industrial-esque neighborhood block. There's plenty of parking between the lot and along Canby without restrictions, but also metered parking on Hart St and Reseda Blvd. It's a little more than a mile up from the Metro G - Orange Line and also rideshare friendly (back entrance drop off and pick up is often best as the front door is typically closed and/or locked at times. They have restrooms for all genders, remodeled and upgraded. Tall tables inside with seating as well as bar seating on all ends of their double sided bar. Drinks are a little more than your dive club prices, but loaded and generous portions. One downside is the AC system which is not powerful at all, and with the back doors generally open letting out in contained cool air it can be humid and muggy inside. It definitely cools off at night and in cooler months. They've made a lot of updates and small renovations, but the AC not so much. They have so cool themed nights like goth night via Club Caelum, drag events, drag race viewing Fridays, go-go dancing nights, competitions, Sunday BBQ and more. If you miss a class, no one will care. - Teachers are great at their craft. They are nice people, wonderful dancers, and clearly explain the steps - Classes are affordable and you sign up a month at a time - The dance floor opens up after class ends and you can hang out/dance afterward Cons - Parking can be hit or miss depending on the time you arrive - No one wears masks, despite how close your faces get. From bad breath to body odor, to sticky hands, you experience it all. The main reason I chose not to continue is that I take the "follower" role and followers mostly just get led. I don't think followers learn as much as long as they have a good rhythm and a gentle understanding of the moves - which makes these classes not very worth it for me. It could be considered a fun, social activity - but I think "leads" gain much more from each class. This is neither a pro nor a con, but the style of the class allows individuals to rotate partners pretty much every 2-3 minutes, so you end up getting to dance with everyone in the class. The types of people you meet range from great to worst dancers, super young to super elderly, and very polite to straight-up rude.

Ladies, just a heads up, they do check your purses before entry, and there's a $10 cover per person. I highly recommend getting a table if you can. There's a minimum spend. For us, it was $125 for food and drinks, but it's worth it to have a spot to sit, relax, and actually enjoy the band and the view of the dance floor without hovering around. The live band was so much fun. Everyone was out there line dancing to both country and pop songs, and the energy was contagious. Even if you don't know the dances, it's still a blast to watch and soak in the positive high energy crowd. Next time, I'm definitely coming earlier to learn a few moves and fully join in. They have two food menus plus a drink menu. Food wise, it was decent. I ordered the ranch steak burger (cooked medium) with fries, and it was a good solid choice. The warm campfire chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream was a nice sweet treat to end the night. Service is where this place really shines. From the security to the staff to even the guests, everyone was incredibly welcoming. You can tell there are a lot of regulars, and it creates this friendly, almost community like atmosphere. Our waitress (I didn't catch her name) was amazing. She was super attentive, constantly checking in, clearing the table, chatting with us, and just giving off the warmest energy while still being quick and efficient. Overall, the people truly make this place. Great music, fun crowd, and an all around good time. Already looking forward to coming back.
