But Expert is as reliable and responsible as Dusty's. They honor the warranty from the new unit we bought from Dusty. They come out promptly, are good at diagnosing problems and getting your unit up and cooling again quickly and without unnecessary drama. Michael, one of the A/C techs, has taken care of us for years. I knew his wife and she called him at the first sign of a problem. He is friendly and excellent at what he does. He helped us choose a larger, 2-stages unit with dehumidifier when we saw or unit was underserved. We have Bern very happy with it, ad MYB budge loves it cold, but the dehumidifier keeps it from feeling damp and uncomfortable. We consider Michael like one off the family! He still works there, but at Expert. Other techs have also come out and done a great job, as well. In New Orleans, we had a number of adequate and terrible companies, but on the Northshore, we only ever needed one. I can't say enough about this company!

    On October 7, 2025, Comfort Air installed a new HVAC system in my home. The work was shoddy at…read morebest. They caused a small fire in my attic. My family was displaced for 2 days waiting for the smoke/smell to clear. While working on the unit an employee of Comfort Air fell through the ceiling. A repairman was sent out to make the repair to the ceiling. It was a rushed job and the 'repair' is highly visible. My main complaint is now, 7 months later, my AC unit is failing. I had another company come out to diagnosis the issue. To my absolute horror, it was discovered that the repair was NOT up to code. MULTIPLE steps were skipped. The original 45 year old copper pipe that supports an R22 was not replaced. It was in fact soldered to the new system and is not large enough to support current models. The duct box is approximately 1/3 the size it should be. The coupling connecting the internal unit to the external unit was crimped into place. The original rusted out 45 year old drain pan and float were not replaced. The float is not functioning at all. The combination of all these factors is causing strain on my AC system. The fan will not shut off. The condenser is not responsive. The humidity is extremely high. Moisture is collecting on the walls of my hall bathroom. The door to the bathroom is buckling. The heat is oppressive. Again, my family is displaced while we wait for repairs. Because the unit was replaced so late in the year after humidity and temperatures started dropping, this problem did not become evident until last week (May 6, 2026). This company also made the local news for STEALING a customer's condenser after they incorrectly installed a unit in her home. Their track record is evident. They need to be SHUT DOWN

When told by home warranty to return it to my home, it was destroyed beyond repair. My family has gone through a very hot summer with no air. To this day we are still without a working unit because of their failure. I would definitely NOT recommend anyone allowing Comfort Air of Hammond, La to do anything.     I purchased a unit from another company that later went out of business or was bought out. I was…read moretold Foulks would take over servicing my account. After only three years, the unit had a warranty issue. The part and labor were covered, but they refused to cover the coolant required for the unit to function. The coolant price they quoted was excessive. I disputed it and told Jennifer directly that after the repair was completed, I would be severing ties with their company. They came to fix the unit on 7/8. The technician they sent was young, and although my frustration was with the company, he ended up receiving it. I had purchased a maintenance plan with Foulks, and he told me there would be a charge to clean the unit. Under the maintenance plan, that cleaning was supposed to be included. Earlier that same morning, a Foulks representative called and told me they still owed me a cleaning. Yet suddenly I was being told I had to pay for it. Jennifer later referenced my statement about ending the relationship, but that conversation happened two or three weeks earlier, before the part was replaced, and I still have not received the prorated refund for the maintenance plan I paid for. I am a disabled Army veteran, and I did not serve my country to be taken advantage of by a company with a 2.9 Yelp rating. Foulks appears more focused on collecting additional charges than maintaining long‑term customer relationships. Their Yelp reviews show this is not the first time customers have experienced similar issues. The people I previously recommended them to will now be directed elsewhere, and I strongly suggest others do the same before they encounter the same problems. How they received a high review on google is beyond my with business practices like this. Unfortunately I have to leave a star otherwise they would be at a 0.
