Showed within 20 minutes. Worked in the rain. Estimated 5 lbs of Freon but it took 6. He kept the charge as estimated.

But Expert is as reliable and responsible as Dusty's. They honor the warranty from the new unit we bought from Dusty. They come out promptly, are good at diagnosing problems and getting your unit up and cooling again quickly and without unnecessary drama. Michael, one of the A/C techs, has taken care of us for years. I knew his wife and she called him at the first sign of a problem. He is friendly and excellent at what he does. He helped us choose a larger, 2-stages unit with dehumidifier when we saw or unit was underserved. We have Bern very happy with it, ad MYB budge loves it cold, but the dehumidifier keeps it from feeling damp and uncomfortable. We consider Michael like one off the family! He still works there, but at Expert. Other techs have also come out and done a great job, as well. In New Orleans, we had a number of adequate and terrible companies, but on the Northshore, we only ever needed one. I can't say enough about this company!

One STAR because ZERO is not an option. I am a property manager for a home where DoneRite HVAC…read moreinstalled a new Daikin central system. From the beginning, the system was shutting itself down for no apparent reason. DoneRite claimed that changing out the attic duct system would resolve the issue, so $4500 was spent doing that with no improvement whatsoever from this unnecessary expense. After this, DoneRite told me that it must be an electrical issue in the home. I had an electrician come out to inspect the wiring and no issues were found that could cause this. Additionally, I had the power company come out to inspect their connection. No issues found. During the entire process, DoneRite has been unresponsive to texts and phone calls. I haven't been able to get a person to answer the phone in their office for weeks. At one point, the owner of the company did finally return a call and told me he would try one thing and failing that working he would make a warranty claim on our behalf. Since that time, he hasn't returned a call, letter or email (it's been weeks) We have been ghosted by them totally. Meanwhile, we have 10 years left on our vaunted 12 year warranty, but DoneRite won't assist us in resolving this matter through our warranty. The catch 22 is that Daikin requires an authorized dealer to make a claim. DoneRite won't help and other companies are reluctant to take on this type of system and/or take on a warranty claim for a system they didn't install or service. Meanwhile this system is now shutting down daily and must be reset daily in order to work.

A WEEK LATER... a "manager" showed up to check on the work, and said some things weren't converted correctly although the ac had been working fine since the install. He set up a date to fix the "error" . They showed up at the time scheduled and were in and out. However, up leaving the manager said "you hot water heater will need to be converted from electric to gas, and probably needs to be replaced." Which is odd as it's a gas water heater. I didn't think anything else of it, until the hot water heater pilot kept going out. I went to the attic to check and to my shock... the gas line had been crimped shut. Why would a heat and ac company do this? Your guess is as good as mine.

We were offered the maintenance plan and that was exactly what we were looking for. Rick was very professional, explained everything and answered all the questions. We are looking forward to having this company take care of our AC needs. Definitely recommend! Update 2024. Well, after couple of years with this company I have to change my review. I am not happy with couple of things. We got a new AC with this company. It felt like they sort of put us into that situation by saying that there is a Freon leak and to find the leak will cost us $5000. And even if they find it it will cost even more to fix it. But finding it would be very challenging. We are not idiots, but more like didn't have time to look for second opinion, take off work etc. so we got what 1Hour Ac was recommending. So much car salesman talk we received while they were installing the unit, it was a bit much. Y'all should ease up on the fake praising of the unit. That was alarming to me but I didn't listen to my gut, like I should have. Then after it was installed, every time the yearly or half year check up and tune up end up with "oh you have to have this, you need to get do this, otherwise you will end up paying much more!!!" So we did purchased surge protectors for $600+. That's fine, since our street does lose power on a sunny day out of nowhere. Flickering happening even without storms. Then it was the algie removing solution or filter. At that point I said no. The calls that kept coming to schedule that install was just too much. Now, we had our heater tune up and the guy shows me couple of mandatory things that need to be fixed:1. Electric box isn't attached to the wall. It is hanging on the side. I asked why when they installed the unit it wasn't attached the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know". 2. The drain pipe doesn't have another entrance pipe for either putting vinegar solution or to blow it out...the drain pipe is actually wrapped and they did it when they installed it. Again, he couldn't tell me why they did that. And my husband was asking them at the time why there is none, and at the time they said we don't need it. That they put some solution that would last us a year and we don't have to worry about this. They didn't put it but now they want $700 for putting it in-very logical, not. I feel scammed by this company and honestly, I dread the club visits, because every visit ends up with scare tactics and money pulling. I don't know what I would do, and it might be the business, but it smells bad. And I don't appreciate treating us, loyal customers like idiots. I probably won't find a better people, but warning to anybody who wants to call them:be alert and don't fall for scary tactics and pushback.I definitely learned my lesson. Update march 2025 Saga with this AC company continues. After purchasing two surge protectors, one day our new, only 2 year AC stopped working. Luckily we had tune up scheduled the next day. The guy came in, checked and saw that one wire was completely burned out. But surge protectors were totally fine. Now, Entergy must have done some work, we don't have power flickering or power outages anymore. Well, the guy didn't let me finish what I was saying and blamed the flickering on this burned wire. And guess what he said? "It was an act of god, and it isn't covered by the warranty of either the unit or surge protectors." So, how the surge protection didn't work? He said, oh those are totally fine, they are doing their job. This issue must have overpassed protectors. And blamed everything on power flickering. I've tried and tried telling him that it isn't happening anymore, but he didn't listen or didn't let me say what I had to say. Then he said if motor is dead it wasn't covered under warranty either. Complete bull....Motor was working fine. We had to pay $600 to fix the wire. I wish I would NEVER deal with this company, but we are now stuck with them. I hate this company. Another update, 3/18/2025 Well, after I posted this update, I got a call from manager who refunded me almost full amount saying that we were never supposed to get charged to something that was under warranty. I am happy with this and hoping they do care for loyal customers. I HOPE!

We could never recommend. We purchased a 26kw whole home generac generator a couple month back…read more They set it up and told us to run it 24-25 hours to break it in and they would come change the oil and make sure everything was working fine. At the time of install I was told not to install the app because it was junk. Hours after the tech left we did install the app and after running the remainder of that day of install and throughout the night we manually shut the generator down at 22 hours as we noticed the app was showing the battery was discharging all night and the motor sounded like it was misfiring and had an exhaust leak. The technician came out and found a wire was hooked up wrong and then pulled the spark plug to show me it was fouling out, that wasn't an exhaust leak, the rocker arms that push the valves down were pretty loose on one side of the engine. He removed the valve cover and tightened the rocker arms down using feeler gauges, yes I watched, and he reused the old valve cover gasket. As a former auto tech, manager and instructor for 40 years, I asked if he thought that was a good idea and he said it was fine. So the generator has been doing its 5 minute cycle for the last few weeks and one day I hear the generator misfiring and tapping badly again, it now has 25 hours, only 3 hours since the last valve adjustment. I call Burkhardt out again and it is the same valves loose again. The technician took the same valve cover off and sure enough the same rockers are loose. The tech didn't leave anything loose, the engine must have a part wearing out, maybe a camshaft or rocker. He adjusted the valves again, reusing the same valve cover gasket for a second time, unheard of in the automotive community....I ask the tech what he was going to do about it and he said let's wait and see if it does it a third time. Omg, really, the generator has never run with a load, we lost power for maybe 30 seconds one day. So he wants me to wait again, I said I will call Generac, he said it won't do me any good because they will want photos and there is nothing to show them. I then called Burkhardt starting on a Friday explaining what is going on and this is a brand new generator and we feel this is unacceptable. There was no return phone call Monday as promised so I called. Tuesday no one called us so we called Generac and got a case number but they tell us they will not do anything unless Burkhardt calls in. After no call from Burkhardt Tuesday I called them again, I was then told Jason Burkhardt would call me. Wednesday comes and Ronnie calls me, not Jason, and he tells me they want us to wait and see if it happens for a 3rd time. I explained that is unacceptable and no one would accept this as a solution if it were their new car or riding mower. Later that day I called Generac again and 42 minutes later they say the same thing, they cannot do anything unless the dealer that installed the unit calls in and makes a technical complaint before they can move forward with any remedy. I called Ronnie back and ask as nicely as I could to please call Generac...we shall see if he does...so far they have been unwilling to help. Did I mention we gave Burkhardt $14,910 for this generator that is less than impressive and Jason Burkhardt doesn't feel it is important enough to call us. In our mind this unit needs to be replaced.

I went with…read moreCalloway & Sons solely based on their positive Yelp reviews as my friends really didn't have anyone to recommend. I'm not going to lie: getting this system installed in a home we were living in at the time was not a pleasure and I won't ever go through it again. We had to get the duct work done which is a horrifying mess (there's no way around it) and to Calloway & Son's credit, they did suggest we go with a split system. Live and learn. We also thought we were getting a system with zones which didn't happen and it was never fully explained why, but in these old homes with impossibly high ceilings and two levels, your bills are going to be extremely high if you have one single unit. It is what it is. I certainly don't blame them for that! But on to the most important stuff: the system is pretty good. Again, old house, not the greatest insulation and taking all that into consideration we are comfortable 80% of the year. The other 20% of times are where things are a less than awesome: this year's blizzard and any extremely cold days mean for a very hot upstairs, requiring us to run the window AC unit. And on those blistering hot summer days, there's no way we're comfortable upstairs without the window unit. Again, my house... it's ancient. It wasn't made for these types of systems. Last summer, there was a day in August when the system stopped working on a Friday. I was more than a little disappointed when I was told they couldn't give us a service visit unit until Monday. If you live here, you know it is literally unbearable to not have AC on a summer day. Luckily the very kind lady on the phone worked with us and fit us in. I also now pay for insurance that ensures priority service. I was only able to afford to get the HVAC on the owner's side of my two family house done and that was about 25K. The financing was not great... if I hadn't paid it off ASAP, it would have been almost double that. So try to pay it all upfront if possible. At least the option is there if you need it.
