Somewhat non binary arrangements. No one spoke English here but I used google translate and we figured it out for the most part. I wish I could rate this 3.5 stars. The food was okay, but it was odd that the manager came out and personally talked to every table but the one I was at with my parents. We were told we could not share dishes (my mom and I typically split a main dish), although others around us were sharing dishes. So I was a bit frustrated with that. The chicken, as I read along with the duck, is the main event here. There is a cool fire going with a spit roasting the chicken and duck. I had the 1/4 chicken and it comes with a side choice of fries, mashed potatoes, or side salad. The chicken thigh I got was decently tasty- albeit a bit over seasoned. I love me some rosemary, but the out a bit too much and it was overpowering in certain bites. I had mom mom's chicken breast (which was substantially more meat despite it being the same 1/4 amount as myself) but the meat was very dry and and the skin was tough. The fries were good, and the best was my mom's mashed potatoes. Very rich and delicious. Gravy was bit salty. My dad got the angus beef. It was good but nothing substantially delicious. I had the pavlova which unfortunately was not pavlova at all, but vanilla sorbet with two meringues plopped on top. Which was disappointing because I love pavlova and it was the highlight of the day. I also had to chase them down to pay. No one ever came back after dropping off the check despite walking by us and ignoring us saying excuse me. There was no salt and pepper on the table, fries came with no ketchup and some butter for the bread they gave us. The butter also came out with a small hair on it. Overall the food is decent. Noting worth a crazy drive for. The venue was different and interesting, but the service was un inviting at best. I will likely not be back. I also heard it's a lovely place for a hike. We were running a bit behind so we're unable to do the hike.

They specialize in duck and chicken, however you can also get a steak, fish and such. The chicken and duck is cooked over a big open fire and its truly awesome! The smell of the chicken and the heat from the fire makes this place unbelievably comfortable. I've never been a big duck guy, but the duck confit with fries is soooooo good. The duck just falls off the bone, the fries are perfect and the portion is enough to fill you up. All for reasonable 17€. They have a great desert menu, I always go with the pain perdu (french toast), and its delightful :) I highly recommend this place if you are out in the wilderness. Have no idea how to really get here, but I know when I arrive, its always worth it! Duck confit with fries = greatness. No photos... iphone isn't working =x

This one can highly recommended on Yelp so I felt comfortable making a reservation and making our way from Opera to Montparnasse. This was a quick 7 minute walk from the Notre Dame des Champs metro. Be warned that they start taking reservations at 7 pm and don't show up like we did at 6 pm. The servers were in the middle of readying the restaurant and were not aware of our 6 pm reservation which had been approved by the owner via email but hadn't been communicated to the rest of the staff who begin work at 7 pm but use the 6-7 pm hour to organize and prep for the evening. No worries though we went round the block for a stroll and returned at 630 to an amazing dinner from our super attentive wait staff. One of my friends and I had the beef steak with a chimichurri sauce and fries. It was a slightly different take on the normal steak frites and the flavors were divine. My sister had the white fish which came served with lovely cooked veggie salad of what looked like for be onions and potatoes and carrots. This also came with sweet potatoes and roasted peppers. If I get the chance to return I plan to give this one a try. This restaurant offers a prix fixe dinner menu for €35 which included the main and dessert or starter and main. Coffee is also included but in all honesty we didn't have space after our meal. The staff was extremely attentive and even helped with wine recommendations to accompany our meal. We ended the evening with crème brûle and a chocolate granola dessert both of which were absolutely perfect. I can't recommend this place enough. Even with wine and fine French dining we paid less than €150 which is unheard of.
