It is tastefully furnished, pristine, and has the feel of a luxury hotel. Everything from the impeccable interior design to the beautiful walled-in-courtyard seemed designed for our every comfort and ease. We felt like we truly had found the best of homes in New Orleans when we stayed here during Mardi Gras of 2016. The space is close to the action (near many excellent restaurants, coffee shops and retail spaces in the Bywater itself, and within easy walking distance or a short cab or Uber ride to the French Quarter). But at the end of a long day of exploring and revelry, I cannot express enough how wonderful it was to come home to this clean, well-lit space where we could relax in comfort. As spectacular as the cottage is, it is also spectacularly managed. It was very easy to book, and the owner has provided an incredibly detailed property overview and recommendations about area eateries, bars, and other attractions that is very useful. He had thought of everything we could have needed. We have been to New Orleans many times, and this is our first choice for lodging in the city. It is by far the most beautiful and best-run vacation rental that we have ever used and we plan on returning again and again!

The joy we felt as we saw our home for the next 10 days is something that will stay in my memory forever ! Sonder were amazing at helping our every little need. We were away from the noisy nightlife which made resting after a long day a dream. The only downside which is only small was the shower head as I like good water pressure but that wasn't even a problem as it did the job. I would 1000X stay with Sonder again at any location, but whenever I return to Nola 1500 canal street is the place I will be staying. And I took pictures the next day hence the bed being messy. It was made to perfection !

As they SHOULD have been. Our room was TRASHED as if there had been a rager in there and they couldn't seem to find a room replacement for over an hour. We had to move twice to other rooms. The codes never freaking worked. The furniture wasn't properly assembled so the coffee table would flip up if ANY pressure was put on it and the couch almost collapsed. It was honestly worse than staying at a well known low cost motel with the number six in the title. The worst part... I wrote to corporate and the letters were sent back unopened. Which means nobody actually gives a crapola. Listen, do yourself a favor and spend a little more money so you don't lose HOURS of your short vacation. Two thumbs down.

There is also a detached bathroom with a claw foot bathtub and a toilet with an elevated cistern and chain (so-classic!), and well maintained hardwood floors that run throughout the entire house. This place is PERFECT for a fun family vacation. It can accommodate a group of 10 for a fraction of the price than you would pay for a hotel in New Orleans. All the bedrooms and bathrooms come complete with linens and towels. What's also great about this home is that it's located in a central location--just outside of the busy touristy area, yet close enough to walk around to all the sites the French Quarter has to offer. There is also a great Restaurant open 24 hours (5 days a week) right next door, in case you want a late night or early morning meal. You pretty much have everything you need at The Bouligny House. Overall, this is a PERFECT place to call your Home away from Home. I will most certainly be coming back to stay here during my next trip to New Orleans. You should definitely come and stay at this hidden gem for your next trip to New Orleans. Two words to sum it all up--Simply spectacular!

First of all it's beautiful (we had both the big house and the apartment), but the location is incredible. It is 2 blocks off Bourbon but is so quiet you would never know it. About a 10 minute walk to the French Market and 3 blocks to Frenchman Street. There is a nice restaurant 1/2 block away, Horn's, and Port of Call (WOW!) about 3 blocks away if you just want to chill at least one night. We were there for 10 nights and didn't want to leave. We cannot recommend Bouligny House highly enough. If we could give it 10 stars, we would. Before we left, everyone said "We want to return for next St. Patrick's Day". Thank you, Pat, for sharing this wonderful home.

WHY LORD WHY did I just receive an email advising my reservations were cancelled???? I DID NOT REQUEST TO CANCEL my reservations. Tennessee Williams once said, "America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New…read moreOrleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland." In a city teeming with vivacious PERSONALITY, it is morally wrong to stay in a soulless hotel, eating a COLD continental breakfast in the morning. If you're going to do New Orleans, do it RIGHT! The New Orleans Jazz Quarters perfectly embodies the eclectic spirit of the energized city while providing the most winning breakfasts you'll find in the south! The Jazz Quarters is in the Tremé neighborhood and across the street from the immense Louis Armstrong Park! If the fountains and tropical gardens of the Jazz Quarters fail to supply enough serenity for you, just walk across the street to the park and Congo Square for some free scenic beauty and history! After our shoe-box sized room on our previous cruise, I thought I'd splurge and get some elbow space this time around. We stayed in the Mayfield Suite. The suite is very spacious and very---purple! It was vital to come back to a chilled room with a powerful air conditioner after a day of walking in the French Quarter! The intricately carved antique furniture helps you feel like you've escaped to a time where we honor artisans. The bed was comfy, the room quiet, and it was delightful hanging our clothes in the antique armoire! The *only* complaint I have is the corner edge of the bed leading into the bathroom. The pointed wooden edge juts out and I whacked my shin bone in the same spot twice during our two night stay. Ah well. The communication was seamless between us and the owners Vincent and Lola beforehand. When we arrived, Vincent spent time with us on the patio for a 'mini vacation meeting' where he provided maps and routes to take and *to avoid,* suggested restaurants, and got to know us----all whilst drinking some wine! A+ customer service! You can't find that anywhere else! But let's talk about the most important part of The Jazz Quarters--BREAKFAST! Our first course for breakfast was orange soaked cous-cous with craisins and vanilla served with yogurt and honey. The idea was strange at first, but I was sold after my first bite! Second course was grits with caribbean pulled pork. I inwardly sighed and said, "Welcome to the land of good food." Breakfast the next morning satiated my sweet tooth by serving bananas foster pancakes. The quality of breakfast here rivals the most expensive brunch restaurant in town. They also had a special Chicory Coffee blend for guests. We loved it so much Lola actually sent us HOME with some ground coffee to remember them by! Have I impressed how amazing the owners Vincent and Lola are yet? We stayed here last April and I am exceedingly proud to say we've booked another stay to come back THIS April as well! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

I also had to wait about 15 minutes before I could drop off my car. Just seemed to me like they were under-staffed. But the staff that was there was very polite and efficient. My car was very clean. And ran well. The strange part is that you have to walk through the hotel, then out double doors then around a corner. Some people will find this very vexing. Instead, when I arrived at the location, I was told they did not have any cars available and that I would have to be placed on a waiting list. That is completely unacceptable considering I had already prepaid in full. If you take someone's money months ahead of time, there should absolutely be a car reserved for them. What makes this even worse is that I was never contacted beforehand to let me know there was an issue with my reservation. I only found out after arriving at the location, wasting my time and completely disrupting my travel plans. The staff offered no real solution, and when I called Budget customer service, I was told there were no one-way rentals available anywhere else either. Because of Budget's lack of professionalism and poor planning, I will never use Budget again after this experience.
