I just changed out my old granulated activated charcoal filter for removing radon from water with a BubbleUp Jr system. After calling around to several local companies, I found Maine Radon Solutions had the best price by far for installing the BubbleUp system by far. I've got a radon in water level of ~8,000 pCi/L and no one would service my GAC filter at that level, so I was basically forced to go with a BubbleUp. In the long term, it's probably the better solution because it doesn't require changing filter material every few years, but it does require a new vent above the roofline and four separate electrical cords to plug in. It does require a more standard .5 micron filter installed in the water line before it, so that will still need to be changed and it will require maintenance/service calls, but I digress. Maine Radon Solutions did a very professional job and even was able to help me change my external faucet to connect to my well system before the BubbleUp so that all the water I use for my garden or washing cars doesn't have to run through the BubbleUp. Their communications were excellent and my radon water level is now below 150 pCi/L. My only possible complaint was that they removed some pipe insulation for their work and it wasn't replaced and now my pipes are sweating. After I inquired about it, Chris from Maine Radon Solutions said the insulation was old and they don't carry it on their trucks, but he offered to grab some and install it if I wanted. read more
