We came down to SD for Labor day weekend and had tranny problems. Called every shop in town and all were closed for the holiday weekend. Larry was however the only shop that called us back. Excellent experience and highly recommended! About a month ago my manual transmission gave out and I found my self stranded on the road. I broke down a few miles away from his shop and found it while searching for the nearest repair shop. Larry was kind enough to personally come get me and my car. Came in looking for a honest mechanic. Brought in my vehicle I knew there was some work that needed to be done because of sound it was making but didn't exactly knew how bad the vehicle was. This guy said he does free diagnostics bs he'll get his money back at the end. Picked up the car now making another noice went to get a second opinion and was lucky to find a new very knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanic. So sad some mechanics take advantage of people just because we don't have the experience and don't work in that field doesn't mean we won't find out how you or screwed us. So I drive a 2015 Chrysler 300 with a sealed transmission. I've put over 100k miles on it due to going back & fourth to San Francisco, plus doing Uber/Lyft/Bounce rides. I drove from New York to Los Angeles to visit my son. It was in a 2002 Jaguar XK8 in the fall with the top down which was fun. Unfortunately upon arrival in Los Angeles the transmission failed. I was lucky to find a used transmission in Chula Vista which was a two-hour drive and the recommendation from the shop was to use Main Street Transmissions. Am I glad I did the work that they did the diligence and professionalism of this establishment was outstanding. I highly recommend this place, we needed our clutch replaced in our 2000 Passat and Larry gave us a very good price. He explained everything and gave us a warranty as well, we had already bought the clutch kit and explained why it wasn't a good brand. we paid $20.00 extra for the real part and saved us a the hassle of needing to replace it in a couple of years.I received updates during the entire time with pictures and the old parts, Larry even helped me with a ride to my home, we have other vehicles in need of repair. Larry is the best! He was fast, did an excellent job on my clutch, and was $200 less than I expected the job to be. He did all the work, right on time, got it back the next day with a years guarantee, he showed me the parts removed and pics while the repairs were made. He locked my car in the garage overnight so there was no problems with seat covers, stereo equipment etc. It seemed like he loves his job, and looks at people's situations and not just at the car itself. He took great care of my car, got the car to his shop free and helped me get back on track! If you're looking for a fast and honest mechanic this is the perfect place I called Friday told me to come in anytime I got there a little late. But either way he said leave the car I'll check it out in the morning 8:30 I get a call saying it was the gaskets easily replaced super cheap well I thought it was way more serious seeing as how it leaked all the fluids out the day before. I asked if it was possible to have it done by 11 because I had a event to be at said no problem had it done by 10:30 awesome service if I ever have any problems in the future definitely the place I will go for now on. read more

DONT GO THERE, DONT GO THERE......I dont really write reviews about anything, but i think this place deserves one.... i took my car here because my transmission wasnt working, the guy told me he was going to replace it with an used one because it was going to be cheaper, he charged me $1,100 with 6 months warranty. He gave me the car and i drove it, the next day, i noticed the transmission oil was mixing with the antifreeze, i took it back and he said it was another thing, he charged me another $600 to fix it, he gave me the car back and it kept on doing the same thing, i took the car back and once again he told me it was another thing and charged me $250 dollars more, he gave me the car back and still the same thing, i took it back and all he said was is "better to sell your car is old already"...
