Good thing first, the additional star in this review is for the customer service team on the non-billing hotline. They have been courteous and professional throughout this process, unlike the billing department. At first no one from the office informed me upfront that the same service--one I've self-paid for in the past at a cost more than 10 times less with other providers over three years--would cost this much. I've been a patient of Main Street Radiology for 4 years, and their service has always been excellent. However, this year's billing process has been an absolute nightmare. I have paid $1,100 and waited for their billing department to submit medical records to process the pending $800. Not only could they not locate my payment, but I also didn't receive an updated bill since August. Instead, they quietly updated the client portal without notifying me. Months later, I discovered that they moved the $800 balance to me on the portal--again, with no bill, no message, no notification. It has now been four months, and I am still waiting for a correct bill. Despite multiple promises, I haven't received a bill in the mail, any follow-up, or even a single reply to my email inquiries since December. When I spoke to their billing vendor, they blamed the holidays for the delays--a completely unprofessional and unacceptable excuse given how much time has passed. To make matters worse, they admitted during a call with my insurer that the original bill was incorrect. Yet, they still haven't provided the corrected statement they promised. Their communication has been wildly inconsistent--one day acknowledging the error, the next claiming the issue is "still pending," or even suggesting they might bill me later. This is despite the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) clearly stating that, the claim has already been paid under a different code, making their actions completely unjustifiable. No one from the actual office has reached out to resolve this issue, leaving me to deal with third-party vendors who lack the authority to take meaningful action. This lack of accountability, clear communication, and adherence to in-network contract obligations has made this an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. read more

I brought my son to get an MRI last week. His doctor referred us to Main Street Radiology. I usually go to the one on Francis Lewis Blvd, but the Downtown Flushing location had earlier availability. Avoid downtown Flushing if you are driving whenever possible. It is overcrowded and the new traffic patterns where almost every road is either one way or no turns allowed... First impression was the parking lot was for employees only? I had to circle back and look for a parking lot. 2nd impression upon walking in was the waiting room ... I had flashbacks of being in the DMV. After a short wait, we went upstairs, got the MRI without any issues. read more

What a great receptionist at Main Street Radiology. Normally when I call Main Street Radiology they are very busy and don't give me a lot of attention however, recently when I called and spoke with Mr. Kelvin he was very nice and gave me a lot of attention. He took the time to explain the whole preparation and testing process, even more detailed than a doctor I spoke to. He went above and beyond for me as a receptionist. They made my experience really well when I had to do a MRI. They gave me headphones and something to hold and click in my hand if I panic in the MRI scan. They also provided me cushions and pillows for my MRI procedure. There are also lockers to store your clothing while you're busy during your procedure. read more

This place gets so packed...You're only allowed to bring one other person inside with you so I went in with my mom. We went upstairs and gave our referral form to the receptionist and then you wait to be called which could take a hour...so you can register..deal with copays or whatever. It was still a long wait with an appointment. We had another appt after this but luckily we did make it in time. After dealing with my mom's copay, the lady gave my mom some forms and told us which floor to go.. but once upstairs we realized she gave us someone else's forms. So we had to go back down to get the correct one. Then back upstairs. The wait wasn't very long since there was barely any patients upstairs .. it was pretty quick but my mom said the tech lady wasn't particularly friendly. It is what it is. read more

I have been coming here for years and everyone was professional and prompt. BUT THIS TIME, MY HUSBAND AND I WERE SCHEDULED FOR OUR ANNUAL TESTS AT 7:00 A.M. The radiologist for chest X-ray doesn't get there until 8:00 am. The 3D mammography machine wasn't ready, it has to warm up for an half hour. Did I want to wait? NO. MY HUSBAND FASTED PRIOR TO A SONONGRAM. Why make him wait an extra hour? Retrain your schedulers. I managed medical clinics for many years and always saw to a patients needs first. This is specifically for the guy downstairs and the X-ray technician. These people lack the most basic etiquette and manners. Nobody knew the purpose of the guy at the lobby on the ground floor. He offered no explanation no greeting. Just waived over your paperwork and mumbled something. X-ray technician lady must be hating herself at all times and dishing out her self loathing on patients. The staff is very rude. The city and many hospitals has relaxed the visitation policy. They still not allow family member to accomplish patient. They refuse to provide with a phone number for file a complaint. However, they allow more than one party ride in the same elevator. They pick and choose which so called Covid policy to enforce. I was asked to be there @ 7 am for a 7:30 am appointment. I arrived @ 6:59 am and finished check in @ 7:05am. However, I still had to wait till 7:40 am before I was called for the procedure which only lasted for less than 20 min. My wait time was double my procedure time. This is unacceptable. Update the following morning with an imaging dpt staff, I quote: their not allowing image viewing". Under what policy patients are not allow to view and copy their own scanned images? "Patients would not understand image viewing anyway". Quoted someone from the facility in Downtown Flushing. I signed up and logged into the Main street Radiology portal simply to gain access to my scanned images, I could open open all the Images. This Flushing location in general has been accommodating me from time to time in the past, the place is always crowded but it gets things I needed done. Took my mom for a CT scan of mass of pancreas, she has an international flight and pending result of the report, she need to cancel the trip. The imaging center is crowded, no radiologist on site, and won't discuss any findings.. asked for the report 24 hours like they advertised so we can decide what to do with the trip. Refused to give any answer except "not ready".. do not recommend go to a hospital read more

The staff is domineering and very unprofessional. My mom arrived 20 minutes before her appointment. The receptionist take over 45 minutes for registration. When she goes down to 2nd floor for MRI. The staff who guides her to indoor accused her " Late for her appointment and leave her at side." When my mother replied that she came on time. Watch out this place, especially with COMMERCIAL insurance -- Without warning or explanation before procedure. Do X-ray(my insurance cover 100%), Bill Professional radiologist fee (Charge $2300) Here's my story The fact: On 3/9, I had annal examination with my PCP. I was told that my urine with little blood. My pcp advised to get a kidney ultrasound. I asked if i can also have spine Xrays because i always have spine pain. However, he sent me to Main Streetradiology. I asked him if i need to get authorized code with them. He said, Just regular Xrays and ultrasound, no needed. Before heading to Main Streetradiology, I comfirmed that for my Cigna insurance, outpatient and In network, Xray and ultrasound only pay copay $35 and doesn't apply to deductible. I checked, the Main Streetradiology is in network with Cigna. On 3/22, I went to Main Streetradiology to get Xrays and a ultrasound. First, I registered with a male. He asked a few question and checked my insurance status which is normal check-in procedure elsewhere. After finished input data to their system. I waited in the lobby to be called. After awhile, they called me. My first procedure was ultrasound, it was conducted by a female technician. Then, Xrays was conducted by two young male technicians. Soon, I finished all procedures and went straight home. Few days later, I received a bill with total almost $2300 from them. To figured out why this bill? I did following Called Cigna insurance: (Cigna)Said, the Main Street Radiology billed as professinal radiologist service, not Xray and ultrasound. We can't do anything, If the bill claims as professional Radiologist fee. You need to call them to change bill code to Xray and ultrasound. Called Main Street Rdiology: (Main Streetradiology)Said, We are radiology center, all imagines are interpreted by radiologists, its radiologist professional. Let your insurance call us. They kept play Ping pong... Argument: I requested regular Xrays and ultrasound and received are Regular Xrays & Ultrasound. By default, this service is 100% cover by my insurance. But magically, the bill became professional radiologist service fee which they are charging $2300. The main street radiology FAILED to warn or explain to me that services are actual professional radiologist service which will occur high fee. As a patient shoud no longer have responsibility on this fees. (If they told me, I definitely won't do). Furthermore, charging as professional radiologist fee -- the patitient should actual receive consultation, diagnose or treatment plan from radiologist, NOT simply interpret imagines behind scenes without patient awareness. For mycase, there even zero services from radiologists. My words: I'm so regret that I went this place. I was actually healthy before, but this problem made me a big headache. For a healthcare server finding loopholes to trick patients for their profits. They maybe powerful or rich, but immoral. I hated this type of business and will definitely seek justice for my rights even this is complex and annoying. And i wish anyone should do so. I saw someone on the review said, "wanted to file lawsuit against them no lawyers would like to take this tiny case." Is this case, I would recommend filling under "ProSe" program. Wondering why they receive so few stars? -Didn't send my films to my doctor for over 2 weeks. I called my doctor for a summary several times, but they were not at his office. I had to chase Main St radiology to send to tests to my doctor. - I always take a photo of any xray or MRI that I take. Main St technician Didn't let me take a photo with my phone of my OWN film displayed on the computer. That's unreasonable. Today, I attempted to schedule an appointment over the phone. Despite a prolonged wait, I eventually spoke with a representative who asked for my insurance card number. Unfortunately, I did not have it on hand. I previously visited the establishment and suggested providing my date of birth to retrieve my insurance card number from my profile. However, the representative repeatedly insisted that they required my insurance number to book the appointment. Despite my attempts to explain that the information could be found in my profile, the representative refused to do so. The behavior of the staff is perplexing to me. In the end I still did not get the appointment and she put me on a 40 minutes hold on the phone. They really need to train their staff's attitude more. read more

I had an ultrasound here and it went very smoothly. They started on time, and the technician performing the procedure, Sheng Feng, was very competent and explained the procedure well. I felt confident I was in good hands. Also the Chinese lady with glasses in booth 8 today, she was very kind and helpful. I would come here whenever I need a procedure. I've reported you to the New York State Department of Financial Services. There is some shady sh*t going on with your company. I've contacted you 7-8 times after my mom got an breast ultrasound in a 8 month period and still get reoccurring letters for billing in the mail, took many hours (12 hours just about) total out of my valuable day to get billing resolved. Only when I mentioned "this is shady, or this is fraud" over the phone did the customer service reps actually listen to me & tried to get a "manager" to get on my case after countless emails, phone calls, faxes and letters in correspondence. Customer reps are don't speak English well and are uncoordinated. I got it resolved today after spending hours on a conference call between Main Street Radiology Billing & United Healthcare, but I'm still reporting this shady business and everyone who had problems previously with this company. There is a thing I learned today and its called "ELDER ABUSE". Your unethical practices and unprofessional manner of billing is ELDER ABUSE. Elderly people and/or those who don't speak English which a lot of customers are who go to Main Street Radiology aren't as handy like a young working professional who takes time out of their valuable day 23 year old that is technology savvy, patient & calls BS when I see it for their loving mother. They would probably pay up to your ethical practices. I hope you get fined and/or some people will be held responsible to PAY UP. REPORT THEM. Mr. Ari, I am glad to see the original first review from me is back. Main Street Radiology reception desk personnel shows no interest at all in taking the NYS workers' compensation case info and the WC insurance info from me, because the Ms. Huang (she answered her identity this way) told me not to write on the MSR's workers' comp form, and the ladies on the phone show the same hostile attitude when I tried to provide the WC insurance information and asked for a refund to me. One MSR lady was claiming there are two MSR accounts by my name, and could not tell which is which even after I told my DOB and part of my address. Now you replied to my email even goes to help the WC insurance by saying that I could not request a reimbursement because I paid MSR in cash! I would see how the whole system dis-serves and then tell the whole experiences, as much as I can. It's a premeditated and coordinated murder attempt on my life, and afterwards, so many parties just do the further harm and shift the blame. The MSR's MRI report on my cervical spine was just try to blame on the non-existent osteophyte, while the images show so much evidence it's from an injury. read more

The fat one woman on the 4th floor is the rudest . Thanks for your reply but it doesn't tell me why the workers there have to be so rude and mean. I was sitting there for over 2 hours waiting for my mom's procedures to be done so I hear the other patients interactions with your staffs. I have had many procedures done at the Bayside MSR locations. While I couldn't decide whether my stereotactic biopsy procedure should be done at Nassau County major hospital as before, or go to Flushing MSR for the biopsy, Ms. Joanna Lee at Bayside office was very helpful and suggested to me that I try the Flushing office because she knows the staff are very professional and well experienced, and the office has new machine as well. I've been coming to this Radiology center for years with my illness. With my latest visit, I've never been or felt more disappointed and dissatisfied with the staff who work at this place. Patients who come here may feel worried or scared with the news or confirmation of illness to come. You'd think mainstreet Radiology would hire personnel who are compassionate and understanding. NOT here. On January 22,2019 I had a question about where to take my paperwork and the woman I asked, name: Jennifer Jin, YELLED RUDELY at me saying "you come here so many times you should know already!!" in front of everybody in that office. I was completely taken aback. I asked her for her name to which she replied with "My name is Jennifer Jin, go ahead and report me!". I did report it with the assistant manager who told me "well the best I can do is apologize for her".... excuse me? The best you could do? How about speak to her about her disgusting behavior, and make sure she treats no one else like this in the future. What's really more disturbing, is that i have to continue to come here since my doctor uses this place. ETA: There was this amazing and professional person working there, she is a Physician Assistant, her name was Paulette. She was kind and made me feel at ease. Terrible attitude, one of the receptionist there was so racist to Chinese people, while I was waiting for my exam, I saw more than 1 time that that receptionist yelled "English! English!" So loud that everyone can hear, I could not imagine how embarrassed those ppl are being yelling at so loudly and treated so improperly. Poor customer service and everyone here has an attitude and there is a crazy waiting time!!! I have an appointment at 11:30AM, and I arrived at 11:00AM, but I had been waited till 1:00PM to be seen! If i know i will have to wait so long, i won't even book an appointment with them. It really freaked me out! What's the point to get the appointment if you still have to wait two hour to be seen!! Came here on a Saturday morning to get a x-ray done. My first impression was "damn, a bunch of loud mouth chinese people in the waiting room, should be a long wait..." After signing in, I waited for about 10 minutes and they called my name. After filling out all of the paperwork, I waited for about another 5 minutes and they called my name again to enter their facilities for the x-ray procedure. The entire x-ray process didn't take more than a minute. I was really surprised with their working speed in this radiology center in Flushing, Queens. I added extra quarters into my parking meter expecting a long wait and it turned out quite short. Verdict - It seems like a jungle in there because of all of the loud mouth asians but everything moves pretty fast here especially if you have all of your paperwork filled out properly and have your insurance information and ID ready.
