The location is nice, they seem very accommodating to anyone coming in, but their wines and distillery drinks all tasted like rubbing alcohol. I wanted to ask the waitress how long the bottles that she served us from had been open since this would alter the taste of any wine, but she never came back after serving us. My husband and I shared a tasting..most of it was left behind because it was unpleasant to drink.

The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace made it exquisite. John and Sara were fantastic hosts. House is very cluttered, including the porch and hallways that lead to the bedrooms. Uncomfortable double bed. Bathroom needs updating. Towels skimpy, both in size and in number. I had a bad slip in the bathroom because the "stick-ons" weren't adequate to prevent slipping. Breakfasts were somewhat odd. Jello, macaroons, tomatoes, brownies for breakfast? These were side dishes and the main dishes were pancakes the first morning, omelets the second. (Owner did remember that my son was allergic to corn and provided an alternative, other than one made with corn syrup, for the pancakes. A very nice gesture.) I was attacked by their very large black lab when I entered the reception area rather than going through the back entrance. I received three bites: One on my finger which bled a lot. One on each leg. I was wearing jeans or I would have had more than just bad bruises on my legs. And, to top it all off, my husband suffered from what we are fairly sure was food poisoning, we suspect from the sausage served the first morning. (He'd had food poisoning before and the symptoms were identical.) The cost for all of this luxury was $90.00 per night. During the same vacation we paid $111.00 per night for a Hampton Inn room with two queen beds, breakfast included, in a nearby city. Next time we'll drive a little farther and stay in a nice hotel.
