In a review like this you could pick things apart, but the truth is this was like staying at grandma's house. The rooms we're well decorated. The beds were comfortable and the restrooms were nice. I'm using plurals because my group had two rooms not just one room. The staff and hospitality were exceptional at the Navasota Café downstairs where we had our complementary breakfast is always a nice experience. So to answer the question, would you stay here again? The answer is yes and I'm sure we will. Who doesn't want to stay at grandma's house when it's one block away from one of your favorite places to go in Texas, Unity Theater.

The place is adorable, clean and the bed was super comfy. There were homemade cookies and wonderful chocolates and plenty of snacks! I loved the coffee station and appreciated the bottled water. I would highly recommend you staying here if you are in Brenham. It is close to downtown, but us old folks would rather drive. There is a lot to do in Brenham and your host will offer many suggestions. If we are ever back in town, I would definitely check to see if this place is available.

The house is super cute, once you are inside it's like a little time warp oasis. Susan and James were so nice and helpful with their suggestions and just making us feel right at home. We stayed in "Antique Rose Room"- I have a habit of trying to avoid rooms that sound too grandmotherly but this room was awesome. The bed was high up with cute wooden stairs. It was decorated with Susan's grandmothers old furniture- but she had amazing taste. Plus the bathroom was just fantastic and they seem to think of everything. Dark makeup towels, bath salts, a refinished beautiful claw foot tub, a nightlight that goes on at nite so you don't stub your toes in an unfamiliar place. Apparently the Brenham house used to be a German Lutheran Church in it's former day but it has been a B&B for a number of years. I won't tell you too much about the history because after Susan and James feed you a gourmet complimentary 3 course breakfast they will come and sit with you at the table and share about themselves and the history. Susan and James 4 years ago ran a very popular Bakery in Houston and the food will be a testament to their previous, current and future success. Make sure and have a cup of tea and sit out on the back porch and do bring your wine after going tasting, they have bottle openers and glasses waiting for you. Brenham is a charming town and we would definitely stay here again.

You can tell that this property is well loved and cared for. The house is really very beautiful with a rich history. The breakfasts were really good, Steve is a great cook! I kind of expected the more basic kind of foods usually served like Costco pastries, watery bland eggs, keurig coffee, tea, etc. What we got was freshly cooked foods such as French toast, eggs, sausage, biscuits, bacon, yogurt parfaits, and fresh fruit. We had such a great stay and we plan to return in the future. I highly recommend the Far View.

My favorite bed & breakfasts are ones that are a bit more secluded and away from main roads, and Tara Farms was just that. They offer a delicious self-serve breakfast of muffins, fresh fruit, quiches, casseroles, breads, local coffee, and fresh juices. Oh yes, and the best peanut butter cookies I have ever had! Yum! Brenham has a ton of great b&b's but if you want to go somewhere private, comfortable and relaxing this is the place to go! The owners are so nice, but the place is so private you would never know they were there. All I have to say about this place are great things.... I could go on forever, but you should really just go check it out yourself!
