Well this is my second trip here, but this time I chose to stay at their sister property "Scenic Oaks" in the Veranda cabin which sits 7' up and Chuck was zero help bringing anything up from the van.... brat. As this is my first night here there isn't a whole lot to say yet about the cabin itself so I'll have to get back to y'all on that! So for now I'm gonna go hit that tub then that bed! read more

We stayed at the Homestead Cabin for the weekend and it was wonderful. We came down for our anniversary weekend and ended up making our teenagers join us. Best decision ever. We spent the weekend playing board games, watching a movie on the DVD player upstairs, hanging out in the hot tub on the front porch...we also enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the rockers on the front porch, talking to the cows and laughing when they talked back. There were eggs and sausage, and muffins, in the fridge, and cooking utensils and dishes were also provided. What a truly wonderful weekend enjoyed by all. read more

Grand Spa Cabin So this was an early Valentines Day surprise for my girlfriend. Our first time here, did not know what to really expect. My Yaya girlfriends and I really enjoyed our time in The Grand Spa this past weekend. Spacious, clean, quiet...just what we needed for our annual getaway. Kitchen was well-appointed, and we surely appreciated & enjoyed all the breakfast victuals. Only two gripes I have are 1) the instructions for the TV & satellite system aren't real clear or complete--I finally figured out, especially the volume controls, but some in our group were still mystified when we left :))--& 2) the entrance area to the house is VERY uneven & the flagstones are loose, so it presents quite a trip hazard for an old fart like me. I also use a rollator & had to lever the thing up & down to get it over all the rocks. It took some doing. But here's a fun thing. We enjoyed the attentions of the resident cardinal population yesterday. One particularly stubborn male cardinal kept flying into one of the living room windows (not at top speed). So, if that window nearest that locked door by the TV/satellite system is ever broken out, don't blame clients; blame it on the local bird brain (he finally quit, probably had quite a headache). This is the second time I have stayed here, and I loved it even more this time around. The first time was in the late fall, early winter, and it was so peaceful staying in the 1890 Cabin, completely rustic feel to it, but with the comfort to make sure you wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy the day. The second time was just last week and we stayed at Meadows Edge, and having the hot tub on a summer's night made the stay even more amazing! This is the perfect place to come and unplug from life and just enjoy the peace and quiet while enjoying the outdoors. I highly suggest staying at Scenic Hill Retreat! read more

My beloved girlfriend, then fiance, now wife honeymooned here after we got married January 20th 2018! We love this place. We stayed in the Woodland cabin. Perfect for two people. This place is so great to get away from it all. So calm, beautiful, and peaceful. It has a very rural rustic vibe to it. We stayed two days and opted for the late check out on the third day. They have several small cabins to rent on the Scenic hills vacation property. I don't know much about the other buildings but the woodland cabin is highly recommended. My wife got a few pics of the outside of the cabin that I'll post; but our phones died and we didn't bring a charger; so we didn't take many pics. Count on not having much of a cell phone signal out there, but if your looking to get away from electronic devices, a busy routine, or just spend time with your wife, husband, or family; this is definitely a place to visit. read more

Meadows Edge: Had such a great time! Went for our anniversary and to get away from all the stress Houston and kids bring us. On the way there you see nothing but land and trees, zero traffic. Very peaceful. Upon arrival you see your cabin surrounded by nothing else but trees and trails. The cabin was very well kept, like new. If you can imagine sitting in a hot tub while the weather is 48 degrees outside, listening to nothing but the wind hitting the leaves and knowing there is no one else around but you and your spouse... that's exactly how it was. Everything you can possibly think is needed, was provided. DVDs, board games, breakfast and mini muffins await you. Outdoor gas grill and hammock was available. Visited the nearby Royers cafe, which was a little pricey but good. H.E.B not too far. Loved this place and will definitely be back!!!! read more

What a retreat! I decided to surprise my wife with a relaxing weekend in the country and wound up surprising myself. I found this place on Google with 5 - 5 star reviews so decided I would give it a try. It was awesome! There are 5 or 6 different buildings you can rent, each with different amenities and views. I chose the "Spa Vistas." It had a hot tub on the front porch and a 30 foot tower adjacent for stargazing. The interior was rustic and very comfortable. There was a full kitchen, a super comfortable couch to lounge on in the living room, spacious bathroom with a stone shower and a beautiful bedroom with a king size bed facing a large window looking out onto the countryside. Just beautiful! They even had a professional massage table for you and your loved one to pamper each other or you can call a professional from the list of local masseurs. We talked to the caretaker for a bit when we were checking in and found out that our cabin was an actual log cabin built in the 1890s that they moved onto the property and re-furbished. We walked around the property and the other buildings were really cool. I think the next time I go I will stay in the "Tree House." There is also the "Farmhouse" in case you have a large group. It has 3 full bedrooms with king size beds and I think it can board up to 14 people! The best thing about this place is the privacy. It is actually their policy to not come to the property unless you ask for them to. So if you are the only guests (as we were) then you have the whole 20+ acres to yourself! They put eggs, bacon, biscuits and other breakfast stuff in the fridge for you to cook at your leisure, no having to wake up at the butt-crack of dawn to eat. All in all, this was the most relaxing getaway I have had in a long time. Definitely give this place a try! read more

Had a GREAT stay at the Spa Vistas lodge. My husband an I had a relaxing break, enjoyed the views and the HOT TUB. I enjoyed having an "unhosted" B&B where they stock the fridge for you and leave you to make your own breakfast. Definitely will be going back. read more

It was our second wedding anniversary and we decided to give this place a try based on the Yelp rating, and I must say it... Wow!!. This place was better than we expected. Our cabin was from 1850. The Homestead Cabin. We had a Jacuzzi outside, we made a Barbecue on Saturday with a gas grill that was right outside our cabin and we even took our bikes to take a pleasant ride around the field with an amazing sightseeing. If you love the field as much as my wife and I do and want to try a nice escape from the city without loosing the comfort. Then this is your place! read more

Came down from Houston for the weekend for my daughters birthday. If i could rate with more stars I definitely would. Place is 11/10. Had a blast this past memorial weekend with my family and friends. Stayed in the beautiful farmhouse, loaded with board games and featured an awesome hot tub! Fridge was already loaded when we got there so breakfast was set for us. They literally have everything you can think of when it comes to appliances and a whole lot more. Kinda was bummed out about no WiFi but we didn't need it. We made our own fun playing football,croquet and just hanging out enjoying the view and atmosphere. Dude when I tell you we had a blast staying here I can't even explain it!!We will definitely be back given the opportunity. Can't think of a better place to stay! Also I've never written a review for anything so this just goes to show I went out my way to write this to let everyone who thinks about renting this joint for the weekend definitely should! We stayed in the Spa Vista Cabin over the weekend. It's a really neat little cabin. We loved the private hot tub on the front porch. The rustic feel is a nice bonus to the cabin. The only thing that was not 5 star was being right next the the FM road. There is some traffic noise inside the cabin itself but outside on the porch and the elevated porch it was very noticeable. We will definitely consider returning to experience the other cabins. Thanks to John and Tiffany for the stay. read more

Based upon the one lonely review on yelp, my husband and I booked the 'homestead cabin' for a road trip with the kids to Brenham. Just after we sent in our reservation, we got an email back suggesting that we upgrade to the 'grand spa', no charge, because it was bigger and more comfortable for the 4 of us. We were so happy about the cabin when we arrived that we added an extra day to our stay, to keep enjoying the hot tub, dartboard, TV with Dish network, full kitchen and BBQ grill, and of course the disco ball in the family room! They provide breakfast fixins too - we had wonderful breakfasts both mornings. The views are lovely, with farmland and a little creek and birds and, during bluebonnet season, the drive is particularly beautiful. The hubby and I will definitely be back, sans kids (we didn't even get to use the centrally-located massage table!), and are looking forward to trying out some of the other cabins/houses. We spent two nights in the 1890 cabin for a spring get away. What a great relaxing time! Very private and you will feel like you are far away from the modern world, even though Brenham is only 10 minutes away. There is no Cable/satellite, but that didn't bother us. I look forward to coming back and exploring more of this area soon. read more
