Our most recent experience was unfortunate enough to say we won't be using them again. My husband and I had 3 tree stumps that needed to ground down. Yesterday we rented the smaller of their stump grinders and got it home to find it had no oil and couldn't get it running after a couple hours of troubleshooting it. When my husband brought it back the owner was there said, "I typically don't recommend this machine to anyone." That would have been nice to know. Day 2 we gave them a a 2nd chance and rented the larger stump grinder. We were able to get one stump of the three completed but had to spend most of our time trouble shooting this machine as well. Before using it we checked the oil and it was very very low. My husband finally gave up and brought it back and the owner didn't seem to care in the slightest or give any type of break for two machines and hundreds of dollars that's got us almost nowhere. The owner's son said, "well it looks like you got an hour out of it at least." We made it very known we will not be returning. Machinery is not well kept or reliable. Owner's customer service is sub-par.

My friend and I are building a deck, and needed five 6x6/8 feet long. The clerk said there were…read moreonly four, but that there were 16 footers available. We asked if we could cut a 16 piece in half. She stated we could have it cut in half by the floor staff. We paid and went out to the outdoor lumber area. We found the four 6x6x8s. We asked a person working out there, where the 16 footers were, because we were to have one cut in half. He pointed up, and said have to load it and take to around to where the saw was and cut it ourselves. We told him that the clerk said he would be able to help us. His reply: "she can come out here and do it herself". The 'rub' is that we are in our 70's. We muscled the board down, which is not only heavy but cumbersome. We loaded onto our trailer and drove around to the saw. We then muscled it onto a table so we could cut it in half. NO HELP! What if we had no idea how to use the saw? Is this normal for the St Croix Falls store? If one of us had been injured, this would have resulted in a major lawsuit.

This place has good deals like any Menards but it's a bit different here than your Coon Rapids or other More updated ones. So this place is a little outdated for its checkout system (lanes) but they manage to make it work out just fine. They can move some serious lines very quickly and always seem to have people on standby for just that. They seem to manage the people very nicely because i've never once had a problem and my receipt pile from the last 3 months is about 2 inches thick squeezed together. I've gotten a lot of rebates back and will keep spending them on rebates or free after rebate items for a long time to keep me coming back. One con i can find about any Menards right now is the Mail-in rebate checks come back in a readable format for others to see and steal or use easily. I think there should be another security feature added somehow to clear that up. Keep up the good work !
