Essentially: they make money on the temp position & then also make money on the full time position. What a sucker I was. Here is where they get really shady: they basically flat out lied when they assured me if a full time hire was not working out they would replace the hire free of charge. Oh did it not work out. Temp # 1 - paid temp fees for 3 months. Then I offered her job. So i was charged a full time placement fee as well. 1st week - employee doesn't show up half the week. Week 3 - she quit because she was not happy with the salary? Seriously??? I paid temp fees & a placement fee and was assured she was happy. Here is best part: when i was with employee after full time hire, i saw a message on her screen from Robert Half....Likely because they placed her at another position and made a placement fee from next job after they burnt me. Temp # 2 - same thing...just about. I hired temp to replace # 1 - Robert Half & Office Team told me they would cover the invoice sent for placement on temp #1. I kept asking when and they kept saying they'll get back to me. Finally i told them, i cannot afford to continue paying inflated temp fees - i would rather offer the position full time. I asked would they cover. No response. Finally when pressed - they told me yes, they would cover the placement fee. But only after 3 or 4 months of me paying temp fees for temp # 2. So they'll cover as long as i pay them temp fees which amount to more than a placement fees. Gee, how nice. THE BEST PART: once i spoke to temp # 2 and asked whether they would like to work full time at what they were currently being paid - they're response was 'oh no, i need to be making more than that!' - they wanted another 30%!! Seriously?? So not only was Robert Half & Office Team prolonging the temp position, not only were they assuring me the temp was happy with the position and would like to be there long term, but they were extending the temp period because they knew that as soon as she was converted to full time and placement fee was paid again, that their fees would already have been paid and they would be in the clear. NOT HONEST. STAY AWAY.
