Completely unnecessary and unacceptable behavior. Bad customer service. I submitted a resume and was asked to call back for a phone conversation to start the process. I was matched with Sheldon. When we were beginning the registration process, he realized I was already on file and his attitude completely changed and he became very rude. He informed me that I had been asked to do a video interview with him two and a half years ago and I logged on and out and didn't respond to his voicemail asking what happened. He was confrontational about this and asked me if I remembered this. I apologized and said I didn't (it's been 2.5 years) and told him it had probably just been a connection issue. He rudely said "well what can I do for you now?" as if he's been holding this grudge. Maybe he just had a bad day, but it felt very unprofessional and he ended the call with this tone that felt like he wasn't going to assist me because of this, which is unfair. Being the professional I am, I sent an apologetic email about not following up 2.5 years ago. Then I went through my texts with him and saw that I had actually followed up about the technical difficulties and had asked to reschedule, and he never responded back to me. Even if I hadn't, it would have still been incredibly unprofessional for him to talk to me like that. I'm sure having people not follow up is frustrating, but it's recruiting. It's part of the industry. And it definitely does not mean that you get to talk down to people because of it, especially if years have passed. And I was communicative both 2.5 years ago and today. They are an agency that doesn't respond to emails and doesn't respond to their own sms messaging system even if they contact you in that way first. Looking for employment can be frustrating but being demeaned (especially for something you didn't even do) is not something anyone should have to deal with. I would not recommend this place. They need to learn better communication and customer service.

If you are willing to work hard *as a professional* at the job in which you are placed, Philly…read moreTemps and Perms will be a great fit. I interviewed and was hired for a week-long convention position which paid exceptionally well. We used an online app to check in each day and to record our hours. I received payment within two weeks. Afterwards, I was contacted numerous times for other work. I found Christine to be sincere and empathetic however, she owns the business and it's her reputation on the line so she's not interested in people who won't go the extra mile. There's an added bonus with PT&P: its office is on Walnut Street, right in the middle of Center City's hustle and bustle. If you're out of work and feel a little low, it's exhilarating in a way to walk amongst all of the busy people on the street, enter the historic building and take the trip up the old elevators.

Mary Anne Claro Talent Agency - This agency couldn't even get this kid an audition for anything. We found a reputable agency elsewhere. waste of time and money!

My experience relates to the voice acting side of this agency only, from Nov 2015 - May 2016…read more "Scam" is a strong word, but describes my experience fairly accurately. I paid this agency $164 to be represented. The fee was pitched as the cost to put me on the web site, but I would later learn that very few legit agencies actually charge for this*. Long story short, I received zero auditions and multiple emails to Ms. Claro about this went unanswered, though they were read. (I had email tracking turned on for these emails.) Interestingly, my final email to her (entitled "Conclusion of business relationship" and instructing her to take me down from the web site) was indeed answered--not with a reply, but by them simply taking me off the site. I suppose other voice talent may not have reached out to her asking to be taken down because there are several accounts of people surprised that they're still on the web site after years of ending the business relationship. Perhaps this helps make the Voice Department look mightier than it is. Web searches also reveal plenty of talent complaining about the agency--mostly about them reaching out to Mary Anne asking why they didn't have any auditions and then Mary Anne coming back and blasting them for having the audacity to ask, followed by a vehement defense of her agency and its storied history. For voice talent, at least, I would advise you two things: 1) Do your homework. Don't just trust an agency is on the up-and-up. Search for reviews--positive and negative--and make an informed choice about representation. Desperate as you might be to be represented, do not fall for a scam. 2) Stay away from Claro Talent, at least from the voice acting perspective. I've no experience with their on-camera department, which seems to be the focus of this agency. 2) Very few legit agencies charge talent up-front fees of any kind. If there are any fees, again--do your homework: ask fellow talent if they're familiar with the agency, do your research online to see if they're a scam/fraud/etc. If any red flags go up, it's probably best to move on. Remember: talent agents make money when you make money. If you don't book jobs, they aren't getting paid... so when you get zero auditions from an agency which you've paid money to, that's probably a scam. Do not be afraid to ask the community for input. Their experience could just save you hundreds of dollars and untold amounts of worry and frustration. * As a site note, one agency I am with does indeed charge an up-front fee, again, it is pitched as a cost of being put on the web site. Whether it's true or not, I've no idea... but not only do they send me voice acting auditions on a regular basis (several per week, sometimes multiples in a day during busy season) but I've also booked a national TV promo with PBS from that agency and we have a great relationship... they reply to my emails, answer questions, etc. So this is why I say that "very few legit agencies actually charge" an up-front cost. I'm with one such agency and I'm looking forward to more bookings this year as they pitch me to clients. As always, your mileage may vary.
