My Go-To Favorite Order I have been a vegan since January 1993, and I truly believe in it--I am extremely healthy. I prioritize whole, fresh foods and natural plant-based ingredients as much as possible. In my opinion, the healthiest sandwich for vegans at Ike's is Sandwich #61, "Sometimes I'm a Vegetarian" (requested to be made vegan): * Base: Whole wheat bread, made completely vegan with vegan cheese. * Core Ingredients: Marinated artichoke hearts, mushrooms, pesto, and vegan cheese. * Loaded Veggies: Extra lettuce, extra tomatoes, and extra onions on the sandwich. * Sauce: Extra vegan dirty sauce and extra vegan Green Cactus. * On the Side (Extra Loaded): Pickles, banana peppers, and jalapeños. While #61 is my absolute favorite, I have on occasion ordered other sandwiches and modified them to be vegan--such as the #1010, #265, and #361--and the staff is always incredibly helpful with the raw material of customizing them.
