The place was clean and the food looked freshly prepared. So today was the day I chose to pull up and the restaurant was a little more tidier than before making feel good about coming in. Immediately greeted upon entry and the host was attentive and proficient. New comer so I ordered the 4pc Krunch Box and was able to choose between leg thigh and wing pieces. So two thighs and two wings sufficed for me with the a Honey Biscuit and Red Beans and Rice. Dined in and was appreciative of having a bottle of my favorite hot sauce (Sriracha) that paired well with my Chicken. The Chicken was indeed Krispy with a tender bite. Somewhat oily but wasn't bad. The Honey Biscuit was a treat indeed. The Red Beans and Rice also making the cut without too many detractors for its consistency. Long story short. I will surely visit again for that quick bite when I have a craving. Gratitude and give thanks Krispy Krunchy Chicken and Staff for providing an environment to sit and enjoy a late lunch. See you soon.

This place has the popular gas station Krispy Krunchy Fried Chicken next to the hot Chinese food display. You can get a quick combo from the choices in the window like Panda Express. We tried the Orange Chicken and Beef Broccoli combo bowls and I thought it was pretty tasty. I liked how for your side dish you can choose fried rice, chow mein OR Singapore rice noodles which is what I chose. If you don't want something from the window, you can order à la carte off the menu and they'll make it fresh. Those items that are made to order obviously cost more than the combos. The prices are very reasonable and I look forward to going back to order à later carte items for take out. Other than the somewhat shady parking lot out front, the only other downside is that if the items in the window have been sitting too long, they see out and aren't fresh.

This location was the perfect halfway point for all of us. We arrived bright and early around 9:30 AM on a Wednesday. I had called ahead to reserve a booth, my absolute favorite kind of seating. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. Our server (I unfortunately forgot his name!) was fantastic. He brought out fresh coffee right away, took our breakfast orders, and was extremely kind, polite, and attentive throughout our entire meal. The menu has plenty of options, ranging from scratch-made omelettes and burritos to salads and a dedicated kids' menu. The Breakfast Plate Specials ($12-$14) Both my cousin and aunts ordered this. It came loaded with pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast--an absolute steal for the price~ Turkey Club Sandwich & Fries: I was in the mood for lunch, so I opted for the club. The fries were hot and perfectly crispy. The sandwich itself was wonderful, packed with turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My only tiny critique is that I wish it came with mayo (I'm a huge mayo fan!). However, I ordered a side of ranch which paired perfectly and really elevated the sandwich. The vibe here is incredibly laid-back, welcoming, and brightly lit. Everything--including the restrooms--was sparkling clean. They had TVs playing a local soccer game and a nice bar area where it looks like they serve up a great selection of beer and wine for happy hour. I didn't grab an alcoholic drink this time, but I already have my eye on a cranberry mimosa for my next visit! Before you leave, make sure to check out the front counter--they have a massive display of freshly baked cookies, pies, and other goodies~ For the price, the food is absolutely worth it and the service is top-notch. Thank you so much, Dinah's Comfort Kitchen--we will definitely be back when we're in the area again!

I love the outdoor patio area and the classic diner decor. I cannot wait to go back.

The restaurant said it was made with white sea bass, but the fish was cut into unusually large cubes that were awkward to eat and a bit too firm to bite through comfortably. More importantly, the fish itself lacked flavor. The biggest disappointment, however, was the leche de tigre. Instead of the bright, citrusy, balanced flavor that defines a great Peruvian ceviche, it tasted more like a ginger soup. The ginger completely overpowered the dish, making it difficult to recognize the classic flavors of authentic Peruvian ceviche. The chicken skewers were also underwhelming. When I order Peruvian-style skewers, I expect them to be grilled over charcoal or an open flame, with a smoky aroma and a nicely charred exterior. Instead, these lacked that signature grilled flavor. While the seasoning had potential, they were noticeably over-salted, and the bottom pieces were soggy, almost as if they had been sitting in their own juices instead of coming straight off the grill. What made the experience harder to justify was the price. We spent over $70 before tip for two entrées, two drinks, and a small side of huancaína sauce. At those prices, I expect authentic flavors and strong execution. Unfortunately, neither dish delivered enough quality to match the cost. The service was friendly, and I genuinely wanted to like this place, but the food fell short. Los Angeles has some excellent Peruvian restaurants, and based on this visit, I don't think Huarique is one I'd return to.

But something always kept me at bay, and I think it was the pizza sauce. Yes, you can ask for no pizza sauce, but maybe that's the magic that keeps folks coming back? Who knows? For transparency, I ordered my first cheesesteak from them online, not in person. For me, a cheesesteak needs three things: cheese, chopped beef, and grilled onions -- and maybe a squirt of mayo. Don't come down on me, but that's how I like 'em. The sandwich had good weight in my hand, although it was a little smaller compared to some others I have had. It smelled great, but honestly, it was just OK. Nothing really stood out. The cheese disappeared into the meat and bread, and the steak could have used a little more seasoning. I ate half and decided to put the rest aside for later. Why? Because my other favorite thing to eat is hot dogs -- and I ordered one of those too! So let's talk about what comes to mind when you hear "hot dogs." You picture a plump hot dog in a bun with mustard, relish, maybe some onions, all served on a steamed bun -- maybe with sesame or poppy seeds if you're lucky. Nope. This hot dog was served in the same type of roll as the cheesesteak, with two hot dogs split in half, trying to look like they were cooked on the flattop. I think they may have just been boiled. Then, on top of that, you get lettuce, tomatoes, and maybe a squirt of mustard. I thought, "OK, this is different. It still has hot dogs in it!" So I removed the lettuce and tomatoes and gave it another try. Unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there for me. I didn't check if they were labeled as ALL-BEEF hot dogs or if they were simply "hot dogs," which could be a blend of beef, turkey, pork, and chicken. I pulled one of the dogs out and took a bite -- and I just couldn't finish it. Sorry guys, but this one was a pass for me. I went back to the other half of my cheesesteak and happily finished it off. Would I go back? I'm not sure. Maybe I'll try it again with the pizza sauce? Many other reviewers love their sandwiches, so maybe I just caught them on an off day. We'll see. If I do go back, I'll come back and let everyone know how it went. Happy eating, everyone! What have you eaten today?

I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, but this was really good. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and topped with a huge layer of creamy pimento cheese that added a rich, cheesy flavor. The pickled jalapeños gave it a nice little kick without taking over, and the drizzle of honey added just enough sweetness to balance everything out. It sounds like an unusual combination, but it all worked great! It's definitely a messy sandwich, so grab a few extra napkins, but it's worth it.
