Greyhound Package Express

Greyhound Package Express

*continued from original review*: and after having to pain-stakingly explain to them why I couldn't…read moreget through to claims (as they of course gave me the "you're so stupid, this is a call for claims" kinda spiel when I told them why I was calling), they checked into the matter. They told me a guy named Gerald Love had received my claim and gave me a claim number I could use for calling the claims line, but to give it a few days. Surprisingly, a few days later, I got a letter from Mr. Love asking that I substantiate my claims for the value of the items that I listed as lost on the form and to mail such substantiation back to him. Well, I gathered up receipts and found the items online with their approximate price tags for some of the rarer/older items for which I had no receipt. Packed it up in an envelope, and sent it. After a week or so, I called the claims department with my claim #; however, the automated system informed me that number was not in the system. I called the main line again, verified my number, then tried to call claims again. Still no dice. In trying to talk to someone through the automated system, I again landed in an employee mailbox area. After getting no updates from Gerald Love for weeks, I called Greyhound about a week after Christmas. The customer service folks informed me that Mr. Love "had just gotten my package yesterday" (despite being sent a month before; are they implying USPS is as inadequate as Greyhound is?) and that he would for-sure e-mail me the next day. Guess who e-mailed me the next day? I dunno, but it sure wasn't Gerald Love. He didn't e-mail me the next day, either, so I called Greyhound customer service again, this time demanding a direct line to the fellow. After some reservation, the lady gave it to me. I have called this number a great deal since I got it, but only ever get a voice-mail, to which I have left very patient and low-key messages asking him to call me back. Such a professional, this Gerald Love. Besides ol' Gerald, my wife has dealt with a Selena Mendez of the claims department via telephone, who asked her to send the documentation through e-mail, which we did. No response from her on that or any further inquiries, either. So, as of this writing (late April, 2013), it has been over 8 months since my package has been lost, with neither an apology from Greyhound, nor an update on the package status (yeah, I know it's gone) or some kind of repayment for the loss. In reading online, I have seen numerous horror stories of the like for this company, in both shipping and general bussing. The best advice I can give to you is stay FAR, FAR AWAY, and tell your friends to patronize travel companies who do more than rely on a name to garner customers, but actually have some accountability.

Pink Zebra Moving - Wilmington

Pink Zebra Moving - Wilmington

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST MOVE OF A LIFETIME!!!! I am still…read morecrushed and heartbroken from this moving experience. Pink zebra will not do the right thing and even file a claim through their insurance for all of the damages to my furniture. There were 3 movers assigned to my move and this move took 8.5 hours. They all confirmed they had not worked with the company for more than a handful of days. Clueless as how to properly move and pack the furniture safely and respectfully caring for your belongings. I cried for over 2 hours of this move just watching helplessly as they dropped things, laughed as they carried out my "3 legged chair" they busted off an entire leg. Scooting and scuffing my furniture through the moving truck and across concrete in the driveway. I asked for my washer and dryer to be wrapped as they were brand new - he disregarded my wishes and slapped it into a dolly and wheeled it on out to the truck. THEY BUSTED OFF TWO LEGS OF MY BRAND NEW DINING TABLE!!! My master bedroom furniture set is destroyed. Every single dresser/chest corners are busted to pieces. Night stand surfaces scratched. I need to add that we were bold face lied to by the movers. One of them looked me in the eyes and told me that he wasn't positive the table legs weren't cracked or busted off before hand?!?! Another mover laughed and corrected him saying "man, I moved that table out of the house.. it was not broken". There are missing coconut shells from my barstools which are unique and irreplaceable. We had to provide the movers with beverages as they had no waters on hand.. we felt sorry for them to begin with. My husband is also missing several items from his nightstand/belongings. His iPhone charger and a bottle of cologne. we've searched every inch of every box and neither have turned up. We allowed one of the movers to use one of our chargers and he took it with him. I am not one to leave reviews like this.. but to say I am appalled and devastated over the anxiety and stress this move caused myself and family - would be a major understatement. I truly hope and pray this review finds whomever has an upcoming move before you schedule with this company. You will have your heart ripped out as you settle into your new home after a painfully stressful move, to look around at all your busted, damaged belongings. Shame on you Pink Zebra.

If we could give 0 stars we would. Since we are unable to, let it be known that the 3 workers who…read morecompleted the move, per our property manager, were hard working. This obligatory star can be for them rather than the sandbagging company they work for. If you are considering using this company and are falling for their scam of a "fair" initial estimate - DON'T. To set the stage for why we are so frustrated and to save anyone else from falling prey to the Pink Zebra company scam: We are a military family and completed over 20 moves in our career - in other words, we are not new to any part of this process. Following the unfortunate event of our tenant's death, our rental manager, who is one of the best in the business, found the Pink Zebra to pack and move the deceased tenant's items from the 2-bedroom, first floor condo unit. The quote that was offered to her appeared fair and in alignment as far as the amount of estimated time for the move. We signed the contract and (with much regret), did not read or give much attention to the clause that says, "HOURLY RATE (DETERMINED BY ACTUAL NUMBER OF HOURS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE MOVE)". The original quote was for $1317 and estimated 3 hours and 45 minutes for the move with a team of 3 movers. For additional reference, our family recently completed a military move this summer, also with 3 movers, out of a 4 bedroom, 3-story townhouse that is more than twice the size of this unit and had far more stuff; it took those movers took approximately 4 hours. Imagine our surprise when we received the updated invoice following the completion of the move - that the invoice had more than doubled to $2,713 - a 110% increase from the quoted and estimated rate. Their rationale? It took 9 hours and 45 minutes! That is a *6 hour* difference in what they estimated for a small 2-bedroom unit. Flabbergasted, my husband and I called their manager, Kelsey. She seemed to hear us when we raised several red flags on the amount of time it took and the huge difference from the estimate. Kelsey agreed to adjust the invoice and asked us what we felt was a fair price for the move. We all verbally agreed over the phone to pay up to $2317 (a $1000 increase from the quoted price) to reach resolution and made the final payment with her over the phone, to include a large tip for the movers. She indicated she would send the final and completed invoice our way. Upon reading the "updated" invoice the next morning, we called again, confused because we had agreed to an updated price given the vastly incorrect "estimate" of time and our shock that a move for the amount of items, size of unit, and ground floor location would result in that much time. Again, we spoke with Kelsey, who changed her tune and boldly lied about our conversation the day before. Her response this time was that "they were not allowed" to update an invoice and "she had only asked us what we were willing to pay", and said she did not agree to making any changes. She provided us the owner, Cameron Calhoun's number and indicated he was on the phone, but would call us back if we left a message. We called multiple times and did not receive a call back. Here we are, approximately 1 month later, and we received a threatening email indicating that if final payment is not made within the month, our account will be submitted to debt collection. We have made additional attempts to reach Cameron, to no avail. We are left paying this absurd amount of additional money, after we reached what we agreed to as a final resolution. We intend to take this up with the Better Business Bureau, are planning to consult with the local legal system, and have warned our rental property management group to steer clients away from this scam of a company.
