We also went over the mileage predictions. On moving day, Joseph and Matt showed up with their truck and they busted their asses loading. I had everything pre-staged ready to go in about 40 boxes and they padded wrapped my furniture. They were done in just over an hour. Moving into my new place...just over an hour. The guys were friendly and polite, but left a huge mess after loading up our furniture. Used tape rolls and empty water bottles were left all over my house. They used napkins to mop sweat and threw them in the yard. I have no idea what they did to get grime on my mattress. That's disgusting! Then, we get to the new place. All my boxes were marked with the room they needed to to, but they were all deposited in the dining room. The only piece of furniture they reassembled was the bed. They didn't even unwrap the rest! I'm glad to be in my new house and appreciate the help. However, I would never use them again and certainly wouldn't recommend them. I decided to use them again when it came time to move out and load up my U-Haul to move across the country again (they were aware we had a long drive ahead of us with everything). Again the 3 guys were on time, nice, and professional. They were fast too! The cost was $248/hour (!!) for a weekday this time around (closer to $150/hour 3 years ago - no obvious increase in work effort or value) and it took 5 hours - about $1300 all in, which is wild. I rented about 30 blankets from U-Haul to protect furniture and also purchased plastic coverings designed for certain pieces. Upon arriving at my new home, I found that every piece of wood (real wood, not particle board) furniture was chipped or scratched or dirty - mostly all of the above. They didn't use most of the blankets or any of the plastic coverings. I'm very disappointed with the quality of packing the truck despite the tools they were given. Note that every box I packed myself and nothing is broken so far in my unpacking. So it wasn't the truck or other packing concerns.
