I've never paid for professional home cleaning but I think I might be a regular customer now. The technicians did a great job! The result was better than I've ever been able to do myself and I'm a pretty clean person - they even asked me if I get it cleaned regularly because it "wasn't that bad" but I never have. I have been using Maid Affordable for many years. They i have been pleased with my cleans almost all of the time. If i ever have anything i am disappointed with they always make it right. They have been accommodating if i need to change the date or time. I am always called if the technician is running late or if they need to reschedule. Have been using Maid Affordable for ~10yrs; 3-4 deep cleans a yrs. Of the 3-4 visits; they'd have to return 1-3 times; they'd have come back the following day to do or redo items. This occurred every year for ten years. Recently, they came 3 days before Christmas and were given a written list of areas that needed special attention. Returning home they missed everything on the list. Sigh, returning the next day they missed 4 of the 6 items. I get irritated at this point and write a review on their "how'd we do email". Three cleaning staff spent nearly three hours in house and left with an untouched dirty toilet bowl and several dark air vents. Called and they sent another cleaning lady but she couldn't get the ceiling air vents cleaned because she's not provided with ladder by their company... We used this service pre-covid and were generally satisfied, but have been doing our own cleaning since summer of 2020. I had an illness and hospitalization in November and have been laid up for weeks, so I hired them to come for a deep clean, for which they bid $398. I asked how many hours that was, and they said it was "by the job." I reminded them that our house was big and difficult to clean with multiple surfaces, teenagers, pets, Saltillo tile, etc. -- it's not a "swiffer house." As a former customer, they should have known this in advance. On Dec 10, one cleaner arrived around noon and started upstairs, 20 min later the second one arrived. She went to our master bathroom and stated that "you understand we have a time limit, right?" I said, no, that is not my understanding, according to what I was told, which is that it was by the job. For the record, the bathtub was already clean, the toilet was clean and there was nothing on the floor. The shower glass was probably the biggest job. Nearly 2 hours later, she was still in the master bath and the upstairs cleaner was still upstairs. I was hearing very little activity, other than phone calls in Spanish. 2 hrs in , I finally hear a vacuum turn on. Then the upstairs lady comes down and they start speaking to each other under their breath in Spanish, one opened the microwave and rolled her eyes. Pic included of the "filthy" microwave. Then the service called (I was about to call them, because it was obvious they didn't want to do the job). The guy on the phone said they weren't going to complete the job and that they could come back later to finish. I said it was fine as long as they did the big ticket items such as vacuuming, mopping and the kitchen, they could come back and do the baseboards and other details. He said I misunderstood and that I would be charged for them to come back. I told him I would be fine with them not coming back if they could prioritize and guarantee at least the big ticket stuff before they left, but he said they couldn't compromise their quality. So I told him to send them home and that I would not be paying for the service, or they could stay and complete the job as agreed. He opted to send them home and not bill me. So far they haven't tried to charge me. The cleaners and woman (owner?) who booked me on the phone were all courteous and professional , except for the guy who called me, who was a poor communicator and apparently doesn't understand what "by the job" or "customer service"means. We requested the Kitchen, Floors and Bathrooms clean and Sarah did an excellent job. My original cleaning warrants zero stars. The young woman sent to my house was sweet but did an incredibly bad job. I understand Maid Affordable cannot move furniture but their website states they will clean around. She hardly even did that. My floors didn't look clean whatsoever and she was inept at making beds. I left my duvet cover, duvet, sheets/pillowcases laying out on my bed for her. She put the sheets and pillowcases on but laid my duvet cover over my duvet and left it there. Worst of all, I had her on an hourly basis. The stipulation of having an hourly cleaning means you must pay for at least 3 hours. There was a man waiting outside in her car waiting for her. I found that to be unacceptable and the management told me that's against their policy. She stayed for 1 hour and 20 minutes out of the 3. At that point I just wanted her out of my home. Luckily their management team is great and responded to my complaints right away. They refunded the money and sent over a supervisor to inspect/fix the mistakes. read more

Would have given 0 stars if I could. This place is a joke don't waste your money on them. Thankfully this was given as a gift to my wife for her birthday so we didn't spend any of our money on these sorry excuses for maids. I'm thinking this may have been part if the problem (they already got paid for cleaning my home so they had no incentive to do a good job). We had five hours of cleaning and the bright fellow they sent thought he had done enough after 3-1/2 hours in my home. They sent some guy wearing a blue bandanna who apparently thought dusting was the sole duty of a maid. We were given a five hour block with this guy and I honestly do not know what he was doing the whole time because the work he did I could have done in 2 hours while also caring for my 1 year old son. Let me first state things he did do in my home: -Dusted. This was done in every room but on closer examination it was a very poor job. He left cobwebs under and behind the piano, under tables, and in corners of the house. -Cleaned out my microwave and kitchen sink. So what kind of maid cleans the microwave and sink, but leaves the kitchen counters and stove top dirty? The answer...maid affordable does. -Bathrooms? All I can tell is he cleaned my mirrors in the bathrooms. He squirted a little toilet bowl cleaner in the toilets...I guess that was a bonus. Thanks for that! -Laundry. So he started laundry. He didn't actually finish it. He jammed three sets of king size sheets in my dryer along with some heavy coats and wondered why it was taking so long to dry(really????) and he left another load if coats with a big blanket wet in the washing machine. What didn't get cleaned. He did not clean my floors in any room sweeping mopping things you think are basic services from a "professional cleaning service" are apparently not so basic. My wife and I spent Sunday afternoon cleaning our horrible closet so he could vacuum in it and his solution was to just turn off the light and close the door...bravo! The bathroom and kitchen floors are very dirty in my home this is why we wanted a maid. Any person that is a "professional cleaner" should have seen this and cleaned it ...especially when you have FIVE FREAKING HOURS to do so, but not this guy from maid affordable. So my wife called to report this and they stated they would send someone to come finish the floors today and it is now 5:00pm and I have no maid at my house. Maid affordable is horrible. My sister who have us the gift card is canceling her recurring cleaning from them and I will do my best to save people from being ripped off by these people as best I can. I just want to add an update because my wife said the lady who operates the telephone did call her to let her know the male maid who was supposed to return would not be able to make it to our home. She also agreed to give my sister her money back for two of the five hours he was here supposedly "cleaning" my home. Used these folks about 5 or 6 times. Plan on 3 hours $90. they provide a good basic cleaning. I find that the business is very polite and will try to please their costumers which are mainly in the Stone Oak area You will have to try a few cleaners until you find someone who fits with you, my issue is that the consistency of cleaning is sometimes off, and would reccomend being at the house the first few times so you can instruct them on how you like things done. Unfortunately I can't give Maid Affordable a great rating. The maids who cleaned my house were great (Diana, Shay, & Nieves). The management, however, leaves something to be desired. There were no shows due to lack of communication between the management and the maids, the time was changed for my cleaning without informing me, etc. The folks that I talked to on the phone were great (Tabitha and Molly) but somewhere in the management... the system is broke. Great pricing but you'd better not depend on them if you have an important event coming up or you're running an Airbnb business. If you do depend on them, be prepared to clean your place yourself when they don't show up. read more

Next cleaning their employee was a no show.... gave them a second chance.....cleaning turned outto be so/so at best. Paid over $320 for a "deep cleaning" to include baseboards, appliances, doors, light switches, and window seals. They pretty much wiped down surfaces, made beds, vacuumed and left. Feeling a little ripped off. Lesson learned. Most definitely won't be using their services again. read more

I called and scheduled housekeeping services back on November 10th. I waited for hours and no one showed. I called the company and they were apologetic, said that this sort of thing never happens and offered me an hour of service for free. I thought I'd give them another go because I understand that mistakes happen. I called them again on November 30 and scheduled them for December 15th. I received a confirmation email. Again, they never bothered to show. When I called them long after their estimated TWO HOUR arrival time, they told me that someone should have called and that someone was on their way. Made an appointment almost 2 weeks in advance to have my house cleaned and arranged my schedule to accommodate this. The morning of the appointment, during the window when the cleaner was to already have arrived, the cleaner called my cell and left a message saying I was too far away for her to make it that morning and that she needed to come out in the afternoon instead. I called back to tell her that it would not be acceptable and guess what - too late, she's already taken it upon herself to go clean someone else's house instead of mine AT THE TIME I HAD SCHEDULED! And she acted like it was no big deal, saying if I couldn't do it that day she'd do it over the weekend - as if she was the one who decided when I would be available.So what was the point of making an appointment when the cleaners apparently decide to arrive whenever they feel like it?! I called management and they did nothing except offer to send someone else out - but that it would be several hours before another maid could get to my house, they had no one available to come in the morning as we had agreed. Absolutely no offer for a discount even though I specifically asked for one. Just an "oh well, sorry about that." This company and it's cleaners are completely unprofessional and they don't seem to care about making things right for the customer. I started using this company in November 2016, they did a great job the first 2 months. After that it went down hill fast. The house didn't even smell clean, there was soap scum in the bathrooms and kitchen. I called to complain and they sent someone out to correct - this person couldn't find the key, so I rushed home in a panic and of course the key was there. I have fibromyalgia along with bursitis. My husband neuropathy as result of chemo. I called to complain that their employee has not swept under the bed for 4 months....response from Tabitha? Your husband says its all ok. Like he can get under the bed...then Tabitha again everyone loooves him, decides to stop talking to me and the owner gets ont the phone very sweetly apologize for Tabitha and says someone will be doing out into day...it's been about a month. I know nothing of this company EXCEPT like magic every other Friday, Meg (maid) comes to my home and does a fantastic job. She is thorough and her attention to detail is excellent. When I get home, my home looks and smells wonderful. Bathroom is spotless, floors (wood) clean and shining, kitchen in absolute order with pristine counters. I am extremely happy with the cleaning this young lady does and hope she continues to come every other Friday. For someone who works the long hours I do, I recommend this service.
