I stop into Mahonia on every stop to Louisville. I stay in Hotel Genevieve and walk over. They have a great selection of plants ranging from east to find to rare plants. The staff is always so friendly and they will even pot the plant for you before you leave. I think their prices are fair. They post a lot of updates on their instagram with plant drops and events they're holding. I love this place and will always come back.

Stumbled in here by accident while on a road trip through town. If I lived in the area, this would be a dangerous shop for me as it has everything I love... When you walk in you feel like you are in a designer jungle. Gorgeous plants and pottery all around you. So much green, so relaxing, I could live in this store. The array of plants, flowerpots, ceramics, gifts and all that is plant related is simply amazing. I so enjoyed just roaming through the store and discovering all the wonderful things in here. There is a workshop area in the back and apparently I arrived just at the end of a terrarium workshop and as the participants were leaving I got a glance at their results, all of which were awesome. Looks like there were oodles of different materials to choose from at that event. I am officially jealous. I tried hard to resist since I truly have no room for any additional plants in my home... alas I walked out with the cutest little succulent you have ever seen... surely I can find space for it somewhere. The registers are located in the middle of the store and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I am sure to visit any time I happen to be in town.

Refreshing plant shop with pots, home decor, gifts and small items to pair with the surrounding greenery. Things you should know: I. LOCATION In NuLu ~ so it's trendy and cute II. SERVICE No complaints III. QUALITY Nothing was wilting, so that's a good sign. The air, when you walk in is so fresh from the plants filtering CO2 and oxygen. You can definitely get inspired here if you're not looking for something specific to buy. IV. CAPACITY Fairly decent traffic flow of people for a Saturday morning. Makes me happy for the business owners.

I get why you'd think Mahonia was a flower shop at first. But you'd be wrong. Mahonia is a haven for calming interiors. An inventive, plant-focused space that inspires creative uses for everyday items and ways to soften the edges in your own home. There are a ton of plants to choose from here. Not like what you'd find in a greenhouse or nursery, but a wide variety that range from the easy to care for to the more exotic. They do wonders with showing off snake plants and air plants here, for the less-adventurous. More importantly, the store displays make the idea of integrating plants into your own space a much shorter mental gap to cross. With so many planters, pots, hanging containers, and even these gorgeous, intricately layered sand art holders (which I'm still not sure I could successfully get home without messing up), there list of reasons you don't want plants shrinks the longer you look around. Unless you forget to water them. Or you have angry cats. Both of which I do. And I have plants. You can do this! Let Mahonia help!

Mahonia is my favorite place on earth. It feels like home. It smells amazing. The atmosphere is warm. There are beautiful lovely things everywhere & it's just a breath of fresh air. I have bought numerous plants from here (years ago) & most of them are still thriving. It does seem like they replaced their fresh flower bar for a dry flower bar, which is super cool. But I wish they had both going.

We make sure to stop in here every time we're in the area. The vibe inside is just lovely. Like a conservatory but with a gift shop. I always manage to find something I want to buy when I visit. They also offer different classes and organized events for individual Las and groups.

This place is a gem!! I've been here a few times now and it's just so fun to look around and experience all the different plants. They sell each plant in various sizes so good for every price point. I bought two this time and they both came with care instructions and I was asked if I wanted further details upon checkout, and everything was explained to me well. I have faith my plants will do well! A definite stop if you're in Nulu and you like plants, like me!

This is truly one of the prettiest shops in Louisville. They host a lot of original pieces from artists in town and displays are ever changing. My husband bought me a beautiful flower arrangement for our anniversary from here. He just asked the people working if they could make him one and it did not disappoint!!

I love plant stores so much that I seek them out like no other! I don't buy plants often but it's fun getting an idea of plants I can add to my collection. Depending on the time of year you come here, you'll see them change out stuff. I saw ficus trees, succulents, cacti, air plants, etc. There's so much! And they've done a great job decorating the store and showing you ways to incorporate your plants into the design of a space. They also sell candles here! There's sweet tea, black pepper, lavender, etc. Not everything smelled good to me but seems like these could be a great gift for someone. The workers here are really nice! They greet you and bid you goodbye. It's not hard to ask for help. They're around and they really know their stuff!

Wow! What a dream! This was a beautifully set up place with very helpful staff who was able to help us choose our plants and the information needed to know for their personal care. We were also able to ask on advice on plants we already had. I can't recommend this place as a goto enough!

An adorable plant-heaven-on-earth. Get your hanging plants, terrariums, vases, succulents, and more. There's also cacti and tons of adorable home decorations. I bought my first succulent ever here and I love it. It was only $5 and totally worth it. I love that they offer a price-variety of plants as well. There's something here for everyone!

5 stars for uniqueness & beauty! Mahonia brings nature indoors in a way you only wish you could. I am most intrigued by the selection of air plants. They incorporate them into small & large terrariums, steel buckets and glass vases. Each things on display has a touch of elegance and yet it also has an air of ease, one that makes you believe that you can create a terrarium as beautiful as they do. On my way out I also spotted the huge, colorful tables of single cut flowers. They are perfect alone or grab a few to create a gorgeous bundle for the dinner centerpiece.

This is my favorite store in NULU. If you are at all a fan of plants you MUST check out this store. I call it a real life Pinterest board. The store is filled everywhere you look with gorgeous house plants. They have the widest selection of house plants I've seen by far as well as containers and decor. I am dying to get a couple of their coffee table books on plants. They have ones for all types of plants from flowers to trees to cacti. I also love how they sort the store by color so if you are looking for something with more green hues you simply go to that section. This store is amazing for inspiration as well as picking up that perfect piece to tie your room together. I am in love with their Christmas collection and already have tons of stuff on my wish list. It's definitely one of those stores you have to experience in person and will make anyone want to have a green thumb. It is a must see when in the area.

I am so grateful that I came into contact with him. He tells you like it is, he can make your dreams come true, and he goes above and beyond to deliver that exceed your expectations. Charlie brought my vision to life. I was all over the place, I had an idea, what he created my dream wedding. What I wanted and what was delivered were literally the exact same thing. How could this man, who just met me, know exactly what my heart desired? He knows what he is doing and he loves what he does. Even more, he knows where to take over when things may look chaotic. I am so serious when I say, I had the perfect wedding when it came to decorations. For example, our caterer (who we booked 13 months before the wedding) brought the wrong linens. Some how, Charlie was able to produce the linens we wanted and saved us! This was exceptionally crucial since white linens for the tables were not at all what we asked for. We had booked black linens and he was able to get some last minute. The biggest thing that really sticks out to me about Charlie is that he is able to improvise under pressure. He was able to deal with the behind the scenes chaos of our wedding. We heard a lot after the fact, and I heard nothing but praise about him. He took over things that he should not have, but he took the initiative anyway. I think that he knows his art and he knows how to run his show. Charlie has a great team working with him as well. They were able to prove a lot. My bottom line - Charlie is a must when you want a florist. He must be hired for your wedding. He is everything and beyond everything. Trust that he knows what he is doing. With being a local business owner and 35+ years in business, there is no question that he will ensure you the best topnotch quality in both florals and in service.

And because we wanted to work with a local business, we chose Pure Pollen Flowers. This subscription costs $350 and includes a fresh monthly bouquet delivered right to your door, February through December. ($32 per bouquet delivered to us seemed more than fair to pay.) You can request delivery to different addresses as gifts, perfect for Mother's Day and birthdays. It could be fun deciding who in your life gets a bouquet each month. Bouquets will consist of locally grown flowers, March through November, according to their site. February and December bouquets will rely on their local distributor for flowers. And the February bouquet is beautiful. I love that it contains flowers you don't normally get in bouquets (no roses here). And I'm excited to see what local flowers we get next. The bouquet, which came in the cutest vase, was set next to our door. The deliverer rang our door bell, and when I came out, I saw her adjusting the bouquet so it would be especially lovely. While this is a present for my flower-loving MIL, I'm looking forward to these perhaps just as much as she is.

This is the most adorable little truck that you could ever imagine. My first experience with this…read moreflower truck was at a Barre3 event at Paristown. The truck was set up with separate canisters for different flowers and you could create your own bouquet. The flowers were seasonal and very beautiful. I was able to make my own and pay per each stem. She was kind enough to trim and wrap them for me. It was a lovely and relaxing thing to do on a day where I got some exercise outside and got to see some friends. Fast forward to January, I found on Instagram that Little Lou Flower Truck was going to be selling bouquets online as well as eucalyptus shower bundles. If you've been on Etsy you know that this has become the next level of relaxation for your home. A calming, soothing scent released by shower steam to help you clear your sinuses. I've really been wanting to do this but I had been having a hard time finding a local spot that was doing it until I saw this post. I ordered three bundles and asked for delivery. Audrey was so sweet! I had asked for 2 bundles to be delivered to my work. She texted me before she arrived, wore a mask and delivered them. She also advised me on how to put them up in the shower. The other bundle was supposed to go to my friend who is also within a delivery zone, however she did not end up receiving her bundle. I reached out to her to figure out what happened. Audrey clarified the address for me and was kind enough to go back out and drop off a bundle to my friends house to make sure my friend got her gift. She went above ans beyond. I am so thankful for these beautiful bouquets, the lovely smells from the eucalyptus and Audrey's thoughtfulness. Can't wait for my next Little Lou Flower Truck find.

The virtual class was great and she did a great job as I learned a few things that will certainly help me when arranging flowers going forward. I didn't get to see the actual truck upon my flower pickup but I'm sure I will soon, as there's no doubt that I'll be buying some more flowers this season. Excited to see all the different local, and seasonal, options.
