I currently have braces on which mean I see and an orthodontist every 8 weeks he spends more time making sure I feel heard and taken care of which is more than can be said for this smith guy. I tried to tell smith tht I was having pain in my tooth I made a whole separate visit for this pain and once again was charged such an outrages price it made my head spin and in the end he said there is nothing wrong and when I had my orthodontist appointment I made sure to tell him about my problem and he immediately found what the issue was so clearly smith needs to do more to make sure his patients are getting actual dental care. They ladies at the front desk are so pretty but those attitudes are just as bad as smiths dental work/ bed side manner. I will never visit this dentist again because after all of the bad treatment they gave me a crown and I informed them I had trouble opening my mouth for 2 weeks after and he never even checked it out to see what may be wrong. But again, he still collected the few I owed for this awful treatment. I had a disappointing experience at Houston Dental that I feel compelled to share. From the very…read morebeginning, I notified the staff that I did not want any hidden fees; I would rather pay up front. The dental hygienist used a Panoramic X-ray machine during my visit. She said she did not work there; she was there covering as a traveling hygienist. To add, the cleaning I received was not as I expected; it was over really quickly and did not feel thorough. I have had better cleanings performed in the past. Four months after my appointment, I am now being billed by Houston Dental for the X-rays, stating that my insurance did not cover them. Upon speaking with my insurance provider, they assured me it was due to a lack of transparency from the dental office. Someone in that office is not properly checking patients' insurance. When I raised concerns about frequency limitations and how they failed to properly verify my insurance coverage, Donna, Lineth, and the office manager, Brandy, made matters worse. They were disorganized and uninterested in addressing my concerns, but the real standout in terms of unprofessionalism was Britney, the manager. Instead of assisting me with my issues, she was dismissive and rude. It was frustrating to feel like I was talking to a brick wall when all I wanted was some clarity regarding my billing. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values transparency and respectful customer service. There are plenty of other dental offices that offer both quality care and a more professional atmosphere. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

The crown was 100% ceramic (not ceramic over metal). After 2'years the crown came unglued and Dr. Myers charged me $100 to glue it back in. A couple of weeks ago the crown came undone again but this time it was damaged and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately my insurance company will not pay for the crown because they expect the crow to last 10+ years (not 4), I called Dr Myres and he refused to refund his work (even on a pro rated basis). I am now forced to spend another $1,000 on a new crown paid for completely out of pocket. I am very disappointed.

Then when she asked for a prescription she was told that it was available immediately at the pharmacy and refused to give her a prescription number. When she arrived at the pharmacy, she was told that the dentist hadn't sent it yet. I had to personally call twice for answers and was told two different things. First, the prescription was in the process of being sent. The second time I called I was told it would take more than an hour for it to be sent to the pharmacist. So then my 65-year-old mother had to drive back to the dentist and personally demand answers. The stress from the situation made the tooth bleed even worse. Btw, the extraction cost $500 which is an exorbitant amount considering everything that happened. Just bad communication and service from this place.
