Located on Baldwin Avenue in Paia Town, Mahina is much like Mahina stores on Oahu except that the staff here were unusually curt and unfriendly. This Botique is as cute as a button! I came across this Botique when I decided to spend a day in Maui (while vacationing in Oahu). I didn't expect to find Pai'a such a cute town! I was just gonna go to the fish market to grab some Poke. Back to the Botique, they have such cute stuff but still very reasonable price! Most of the stuff they have, I have not seen anywhere else, and trust me, I frequent botiques when i travel. When I got there around 7, I don't have much time left to look around since I have to catch a flight at 9p and still have to drive to the airport and return my rental. I browse really quick and found some treasures right away! I bought a blue maxi dress, just like the dress that Rihanna wore on her video for "stay". I paid 15 for a pretty dress! I also got a neck lace that had the word "love" on it in cursive ad bought a ring that has the word "love" on it to match. I spent less than $40 for everything! I was pretty happy with my purchase! Trouble is spelled Mahina. This place+me=aloha money. There are cute dresses galore, accessories EVERYWHERE (I died and went to heaven), great discounted shoes, awesome hand bags...and accessories. Everywhere. Cheap. Sparkly. Holy cow. The prices here are really reasonable, which makes this spot even better. You'd think that when surrounded by marked up, touristy driven prices they'd want to compete. But they keep it real here, which ultimately made me want to spend more. SMART! Check this: I bought 2 bracelets, a ring, an adorable shirt (that I get a ton of compliments on) and a pair of platform shoes for only $100 total. With tax. Holla! The woman working that day we were in, who's name I can't remember, was super kind and gracious. She had lived in California as well, so we were chatting up a storm. I am a long term customer of Mahina and recently went through a situation that made me more appreciative than ever. I bought a gift card at the store to give to a friend in her birthday. My friend lost the card and I decided to go back to store in the attempt of finding a solution. The manager heard me out and after some days she contacted me saying they were able to void the old gift card and place a new one for me. I know how hard that must have been and the time that must have taken because there wasn't any kind of code number linking my purchase to a specific gift card. I consider to be so important to go above and beyond for clients since that's exactly what I do whenever my clients have any issue, so I'm very happy with the customer service I received and just made me more loyal to this store. Of course on the top of all reasons it's their amazing selection of clothes and accessories, but a bad customer service would have made me look elsewhere! Thanks a lot!! read more

My all time favorite boutique on the island!!! Such an incredible place to go shopping for unique items to add to your wardrobe- or to a friends as gifts!! Such a cool store with really cute and cool stuff but YIKES what horrible service!! My friend and I popped in after dinner one evening and one of the sales chicks loudly tells us that "We close at 8" ... given that it was 20 after 7 I ignored her; and then she laughed when she realized that it was nowhere near close to closing time - if I wasn't such a refined and classy chick, I would have reacted and did my best to ignore and avoid her. It's hard to get over small stuff like that and the rudeness left such a bad feeling between the two of us that it was a big relief to exit without making any purchases [think Pretty Woman...us with our AMEX Platinum/no limit credit cards] ... you just lost us as customers forever. There was a cute little boho shop around the corner, close to Rock n Brews with THE nicest, friendliest sales girl who, I hope, works on commission cause we blew it up in there!! When my boyfriend and I stopped in Paia before continuing our adventure on the Road to Hana, the desire to have an all-day visit in the San Francisco-esque town was almost too strong. I started begging my boyfriend to slow his driving to a crawl so I could peek into the shop windows. We went back two days later and I could hardly contain my excitement. Mahina was not the first shop I came across, but the impression really left a massive print in my shopper's heart. It was the original store that I visited, and of course it had to be the coolest and most inviting of all the ones I've passed by or browsed in. It truly compliments the coolness of the town it's in -- a nice size for a boutique, rustic and chic in it's interior, clothes and accessories that say, "Ya I look awesome but I'm not even trying." It's like being in a store on Height and Ashbury, but with an unmistakable, laid back Hawaiian vibe. This boutique, as chic as it looks, definitely has aloha spirit. Their customer service is excellent, and they've shown me great care in resolving an issue back on the mainland. Whenever I am back in the islands, I will be visiting them, and I cannot wait till their online store is up and running. I know it's going to be just as cool as the original. read more

really cute outfits!! i was shopping in paia .and paia being so small, i didn't hadn't realized that mahina was actually a small chain of boutique clothing stores (there's another lahinana). they carry women's clothing, accessories, and shoes only. the space is very comfortable but surprisingly they have a pretty extensive and coordinated collection without feeling claustrophobic. most of their outfits are dresses and tops with a beachy feel *wispy, light colored * but they have a few edgier outfits as well. prices are "reasonable" for a touristy town. dresses range from $30+. they have a clearance section in the back but most were too large for me. read more

I stumbled into the Mahina boutique and was surprised to find a wide variety of sexy, cute, comfortable, breezy, feminine clothing at astonishingly affordable prices. I've seen the same exact pieces at Forever 21. This shop may have inexpensive prices but they still have an extremely high markup. The $25 tank top should be sold for $15 at most. There's so many cute affordable things here but the staff is so iffy. Nobody was directly rude to me but they are not eager to assist you in the least. One person let me stand at the counter for more than 5 minutes while she fixed a mannequin. The store was really busy and I would have rather had been waiting because she was helping a real customer not fiddling with the mannequin.
