I wasn't feeling well that day, had other important appointments beforehand, and knew my body could not safely handle a massage today. Pregnancy can be unpredictable, and my health has to come first. As soon as he told me, essentially immediately after it was booked, we both reached out to JoJo. I asked to reschedule, not cancel, so I could come in on a day when I was well enough to receive care later this week. Instead, the appointment was canceled on their end, and I was charged a $100 deposit even though no service was provided. I was initially told that their system would not allow a reschedule or refund, which was frustrating and frankly unconvincing. What was most concerning was that this was treated entirely as a scheduling issue rather than a health and safety decision, despite this being a business that serves pregnant women. We reached out almost immediately, so accommodating a reschedule would not have disrupted her schedule at all. The rigidity felt transactional, not supportive. If you are pregnant and need even basic flexibility or understanding around your pregnancy related issues, I would STRONGLY reconsider booking here. Edit to JoJo: That is untrue; we both called your number multiple times trying to reach you and eventually received a text from your assistant. At this late stage of my pregnancy, my schedule is governed by health-related concerns that take precedence over a massage. During our communication, you and Jim were dismissive, and the appointment was canceled without any meaningful effort to accommodate or thoughtfully address my situation. I had initially requested a rescheduling, as we saw that your schedule was open later in the week. That was quickly denied without any effort to provide a service we paid for, which is troubling.
