What an unexpected find. After a week and a half of only Spanish food, I was ready for something a…read morebit different. I stumbled upon this restaurant located a few minutes from my airbnb and after consulting yelp and trip advisor, decided to try it out. I was greeted by a man who I presume is the head chef, who explained to me that they do not serve a la carte, they only have a set menu which comes with a bottle of wine, with a vegetarian option, or seafood option on Thursday. Menu changes constantly so they have no written menu to see. He was dubious about me eating alone and perhaps being able to finish the meal, but I insisted it was fine. I walked into a beautiful romantic room which rose petals strewn on the tables. Didn't realize I was taking myself on a romantic date for one, but in the name of yelping and trying new food, I succumbed. The food was extremely well made with delicious balance of spices. Started with a zucchini pakora appetizer with a small side salad, second dish was a stuffed zucchini which normally comes with cheese but I requested without. I generously helped myself to the delicious sauces on the table, both the green and the non tamarind spicy sauce, they were flavorful and really brightened the flavors. Main "dish" was a spread of 4 dishes, including spinach, eggplant, mushroom, and a dal. (Sorry cannot remember the names). Basmati rice and naan stuffed with coconut was also served, really interesting. The naan itself was fluffy and light, but I did not enjoy the coconut as much as I thought I would, tasted a bit like dessert. The dishes were all flavorful, although not spicy, and without an overwhelming taste of curry. Finished off my meal with a strawberry yogurt parfait and some tea. Don't forget about the bottle of red wine that I could barely put a dent in. All of this with impeccable service for 31.50 euros. What a steal. Definitely come visit this restaurant if you are in need of a break from Spanish food!.

We actually planned a quite night with take-away but ended up having the best dinner in our life so far. We were greeted at the entrance with a description of the option to choose 4course menu for 35€ per person - take-away was not an option as the chef wants to offer great quality and service what would be not possible. The restaurant has a great flare so authentic we felt like in india. Asked for drinks the chef explained why he wouldn't recommend a mango-lassi this time. As a lot was about to come what would be filling and satisfying enough - he was 100% right. Dish after dish followed by explanations. The team always made sure to explain all the dishes, spices and the fact that one of us was eating meat and me not. I can't describe in enough words how different, specific and unique all this flavours are - the best naanbread we ate in our life. The fact we got just a tiny bowl of rice speaks for it self - finally indian with the main view on quality meat, veggies and spices - big shout-out to the fact this place is not using glutamine. The chef comes to every table personal and is open to explain, his positive aura and his love cannot be overlooked. He even uses vegetables out of his own garden, nd grates his spices himself. A place full of love and flavour!

Oh dear. We chose…read morethis place as my friend is vegan, so we went because it was one of the only places she could eat. So, how was it? We walked in and asked for a table for 3, he sat us on a table at the back where none of us could see a thing because it was so dark! So we moved ourselves to the front of the restaurant where the doors were. He came back around with the menus and said 'oh, I said to sit on the other table because...' and he had pointed to the floor where had mopped with a lot of bleach. We were not going to move. He brought out some poppadoms with dips, and our drinks. Which I have to admit was probably the best part of our meal. I wish I had now eaten more of those poppadoms. We ordered a vegetable dansak, mushroom fried rice, a plain nan and a chicken tikka masala. From which I had told my mum, "you can never go wrong with a chicken tikka masala." Or at least, I have never known it to.. After sitting waiting, the guy came back over and asked if we were ready because we still hadn't finished our poppadoms, (we had told him that as our vegan friend could not eat the nan bread, she wanted them with her food.) He was very confused, left it ten more minutes before coming back and asking again if we had finished, which at this point I told him that we wanted the food now, and not to take the poppadoms. As we waited for the next 5 minutes for him to bring out the food, we heard a hum in the background followed by a ping. Oh. No. This is not how you cook Indian food. Anyway, we received the food and it tasted disgusting, very bland, no flavour and the texture of the chicken was just wrong. So I told him how I felt, and he asked me if I would like anything else. I had said no, but he had insisted that should I have a Korma, it would be better for me. So I took his recommendation thinking again, you can't go wrong with a Korma, and how wrong I was. In the end I did not eat any of the curries, and after tasting brine on the mushrooms where they had come out of a tin, was ready to run as fast as I could or just straight up refuse to pay. However as my friend had enjoyed her (also bland) vegetable dansak, she wanted to pay and what did we get for a discount? Half price of one of the curries. Fuming. I would not recommend this to anyone, after still paying 31 euros for food we didn't eat, it put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. There are lovely Indian places in Palmanova, pricier ones but well worth the extra. Go to those, this isn't Indian food. Even Smartprice can't go wrong with a Tikka Masala sauce.
