I accompanied my husband to a first appointment with this doctor. We were referred by other…read moremedical professionals in the community after my husband's doctor died unexpectedly and we needed a pain management specialist because he has been on the same medications for many years and needed a doctor to manage his needs. I have worked in the medical field for the past 20 years so have had a lot of contact with physicians. I can say honestly that I have never met someone so rude and dismissive as this doctor. The professionals that referred us gave the intake person all of my husband's information including what medications he was prescribed and his long history of treatment. Therefore we were very surprised when the doctor treated us like we were coming to him without his office having any knowledge of what he has been prescribed. We expected that a different doctor might have opinions about what should be prescribed, doses, amounts, etc. We expected that some changes were likely to come, as this is to be expected when you change from one physician to another. However this doctor after asking a couple of questions stated "I'm not going to treat you." No discussion, no explanation other than "I don't prescribe those medications [oxycodone, dilaudid- medications which are commonly prescribed for pain and this is a pain management specialist.]" We didn't disagree, we hadn't asked for anything or suggested that we weren't willing to discuss what he thought would be best, or even how we ended up at this office. After announcing that he had no intention of treating my husband, he proceded to do some form of "physical" by grabbing my husband's leg off the floor unexpectedly and with great force. I have NEVER seen anything like this man and will not advise anyone to pursue help from his office. I have a high tolerance for physician's having their own personalities and opinions about treatment, but I have never had one be so egregious.

DR. Ramos was my wife's primary pain management specialist. She ended up going to a surgeon who after reading her MRI told her shots would do no good and she needed surgery right away. 2 surgeries later she still needed pain management as she has degenerative disc disease. Being bull headed she continued to see Ramos, who again started giving her shots which by the way are 1500$ a pop, after the last shot she was in terrible pain and following the procedure given us tried calling the doctor. No response from him at all until she canceled her next appointment after we had found a different doctor, who by the way said you should never give shots in the spine after surgery without taking another MRI as things change which Ramos never did. Terrible DR. Only wants that 1500$ per shot

Whether I need a same-day appointment, clarification of orders, refills, or anything at all, they get right back to me. When we moved my elderly in-laws to Lafayette, they got set up with Dr. Cusack with no problems, even though they were new Medicare patients. Like the other reviewer, we switched, but not before her treatment had been delayed and she had endured completely unnecessary pain and suffering. I met her myself at one appointment and was shocked at her refusal to discuss the possibility of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, or listen to her patient's concerns, and found her completely self-absorbed. I would not recommend her under any circumstances. To be clear, nobody could have saved my sister's life, but her experience was horrific and preventable.

I made an appointment last week, which was scheduled by a nurse. When I called today to get…read moredirections, the receptionist was rude and told me she would not rescheduled my appointment. Dumb-founded, I told her I didn't want to reschedule, I was calling for directions. She blatantly told me I was not allowed in the office because my appointment was supposedly an hour earlier. After telling them I was told the wrong time, they reluctantly allowed me to come get paper work, but treated me like some terrible person and the receptionist kept beating me over the head about not missing appointments and this is a one time exception only because my appointment was scheduled by a nurse and wasn't even told that I needed to come 30 minutes early to fill out the 10 pages of paper work. I had been looking forward to this appointment because I was really hoping she could help me. But after the way I ways treated today, I won't be going back. I'm a receptionist and if I EVER treated a client the way I was treated today, I'd be fired on the spot. Go if you must, but whatever you do, double and triple check your appointment time, because even if THEY mess up, you're immediately black-listed.
