The employees met the bare minimum standard but didn't exceed it. The drinks were very overpriced for what we got. During the wedding, a major event, the indoor bar area's doors were all locked except for apparently 1 that I actually gave up on trying to find. I just stuck with the outdoor one in the reception area for that one overpriced drink I ordered. The BREAKFAST, which was nearly $20 a person, was effing HORRIBLE. It's a minimal (once again) "buffet" with plain food that I could've cooked better myself - and I'm the world's worst cook. That crap was more terribly overpriced than the drinks. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

Now the rooms are pretty spacious but the lighting situation is fairly poor and unless you stay over two nights they won't be making the beds and etc. If you need more towels and etc call/ask them. (This is due to Covid/staffing issues) Now when we checked in we gave them both our information (name, phone, company info, cc) we got our keys and the wi-fi info When unfortunately I got locked out I had to go downstairs (luckily I was still dressed but no shoes) I understand for security purposes they have to ask you things but I had to go thru a lot to get an extra key. She asked me do you know the last four digits of the holders credit card? I was like what? I'm downstairs, shoeless, massless, no phone and you just saw me walk upstairs about a half hour ago? Whatever I had to tell her the name of the company, my husband's name, my name, our address, his phone number. She than said don't be mad ma'am it's for security purposes. I had a long ass day, I was tired, cranky and locked out of my room with no key and my husband is at a business event. This was ANNOYING. Than she sees me the next morning when we dropped off all the keys I told the original person who checked us in I had to get a third key as I was locked out and had to give them basically my unborn child's first name. I think she thought I was joking I told her I'm not and said I dealt with her. I'm grateful my husband was not around at this point as he than came by with his key and told them we are checking out of our room number and here's our keys. They give you a warmed cookie at check in... The view from our room was nice Down the street is a Home Goods, Marshall's and a Dollar tree and oh yea a BJ's down the street. If you want to go the Boston's North End you can go to Fitchburg and get the commuter train.. taco's are flat rate prices and cheaper than an Uber. The room, it's clean enough, bathroom shower stall is dated and also needs better lighting and more than 5 pieces of Kleenex in the box. The company got a rate.. if we had to come back here at least I know what I got to remember. When I come back to Boston on my own I'm gonna use AirbNb or whatever. A true, traditional, historic B and B can't be beat, and that is what Timber Post is! She dealt with my questions very helpfully over the phone before arriving, and then the moment I arrived. Vivian has every little beautiful or welcoming detail covered, and the place is immaculately clean. There are intriguing antiques and pictures everywhere to add to the ambiance. The breakfast is sumptuous, but despite all that work, she was kind enough to make me something I preferred. I stayed two nights, at the start and end of my road trip, in two different parts of her lodgings. Both were lovely. It's quiet, for a light sleeper like me, and also important for a woman traveling alone, I felt safe. Vivian even has done the genealogy on the Inn from its early years, and discovered she's descended from the some of the original owners! She said how the community there has been so kind to her. Now that's real sense of place. I highly recommend Timber Post for a true New England Bed and Breakfast experience, in rural Hollis. A delight.

Entirely misadvertised and the woman who runs it is defensive of these small things, making it even…read moreworse. - advertised as having a private bathroom and it does not - breakfast listed as 7:30-9:30am in the booklet that is in the room but it is not, it is at exactly 8am only which we were never notified about - the noise is terrible - I was woken up to people talking downstairs that sounded like they were in our room, and that continued until we left - woman running it just got defensive when trying to address the bathroom and breakfast, just saying "but we've had a lot of people stay without any complaint" - for every person who says something, though, there are a hundred who don't say anything. - we had to "prove" to her that the listing was wrong bc she just tried to say that she didn't realize and blamed it on booking.com, though it is not the fault of booking.com, it is the fault of the business and it is illegal to do this kind of bait and switch - she offered a 10% refund while asking "are you going to write a bad review either way?" - well, I wasn't planning on it, but the fact that she tried to bribe us to not write a review means I sure as heck am now - on top of all of this, the bathroom was out of toilet paper with no more rolls available I suggest avoiding this place unless you want to have no idea what you show up to regardless of what you booked, then want to deal with a defensive woman who won't internalize or listen to the issues. The response also showed the inability to internalize feedback, and misguided perspective on that feedback.
