I've been a regular customer since writing my first review and have always been happy with all elements of this establishment-the service, the food, and whatever goings on there may be that particular evening. We spend a decent amount of money here on food and drinks and always leave generous tips. We came in Saturday night for dinner/ drinks and grabbed a seat near the window. Made eye contact with one of the regular servers on our way to be seated. Normally within a couple of minutes we'd be greeted by a friendly face, menus dropped off and drink order taken. Well not this time. We sat for bout 20 minutes with nobody acknowledging us. One server came to a table that was infront of us 3 times and didn't say a word to us. Nothing. A different server came to another table twice and again- nothing. To note, it wasn't very busy so we really couldn't understand the poor, or lack of service. We walked out disappointed and it'll likely be quite some time before, if ever we give Magnums another shot. Luckily, our next favorite place had a table available, and we ended up having a lovely evening filled with good food, great service and sine live music. read more

Finally checked this place out, which is practically in my neighbourhood. The place was nearly full on a Thursday, so needless to say that they're doing well and probably one of the busiest places in town. Funny enough, it's in a very rundown plaza in a low-traffic area; yet it's very nicely - and recently - decorated. It's quite a large menu, and you'll even find some 'classier' things you may not expect, such as escargot. That said, we went for very typical after-softball bar food of: wings, poutine and beer. Numerous beer options and about a dozen on tap. They offer an 'XL' platter which is two pounds for $20 - only $8 more than a single pound. The pound is probably one in the classic sense, with about a dozen large size wings (the XL had about 25). A lot of other places are starting to get technical and only offer about 8 or so for a pound, so that's a big plus here. You have about 20 flavours to choose from. The wings were cooked right, with a nice crisp on the outside. I feel they could've used a little more pre-seasoning to move them from 'good' to 'great'. Poutine was very good. Fresh cut fries and cooked properly. Classic dark gravy with real cheese curd. Very good impression so far, and though I'm sure I'll be back for the classic bar food options, I'll also want to sample some of their other offerings too. read more

The chef at magnums does a fantastic job livening up the menu with the daily specials which usually consists of 3 meal varieties and two daily soups. The soups are all homemade daily --nothing frozen! It really reminds me of the soup nazi on the TV sitcom called Seinfeld. My favourite soups are: chicken wing soup, shrimp bisque and beef barely. The jd steak special is always a win complimented by a pint of Richards red. Greek and caesar salads are tasty with their authentic dressing. If you love perogies smothered in cheese and bacon as much as I do you will love this place. Also my new favorite is their chicken fingers which are also homemade. Oh man the the escargot served with toasty garlic bread is delicious. ..so so many favorites at this local watering hole. Another wonderful surprise is the succulent prime rib special on the last Friday at the end of the month, it comes with all the traditional fixings including Yorkshire pudding. read more

Came here after a friend suggested it and I was certainly not disappointed! The interior was quite nice. My friend and I were seated right away (after I was ID'd because I look like I'm 16). I forget what our waitress's name was but she very promptly got us drinks. I ordered their house chardonnay for $8. It was so good I got it two more times after this :D My friend and I decided to get bruschetta to start. It was super tasty and was quite fresh. This variation had mozzarella cheese overtop. There was a healthy amount for the serving. Before we could finish the appetizer our entrées arrived. Service was on point. Our waitress checked up on us frequently but not to the point where we were annoyed by it. I got the stir-fried tomato scallop and shrimp dish. It was so good! My friend got a burger and by the looks of it he very much enjoyed it! It was also Thursday which means it's karaoke night! They had a thick book of songs to choose from and even newer songs by all of the current artists. I didn't participate as I have stage fright. Wrote a negative review of this place a number of years ago but since moving into the neighbourhood I've finally changed my tune. They still have the hideous karaoke a few nights per week and that's really my only major gripe with the place now, and thus the reason I took a star. But the waitresses now all know us, treat us well, and the cleanliness is above the other local watering holes. Cheers! read more

Half the servers partake in the ritual of Le 'Nose Candy', the bouncers look like they want to skin you alive, and on a Saturday night, you will 100% hear someone sing a song with a racial slur in the chorus for their Karaoke night. Just wholly full of Brampton charm... I can't totally shit on Magnums though, the karaoke host did a great job and my dry gin martini tasted fab and came with 3 jumbo olives stuffed with garlic (tastes better than it sounds I promise). And I left my server a big tip cause lord knows that girl needs to money to get through her shift with powdered help. read more

Nice neighbourhood pub, decent service and quiet street location. Only gripe might be not taking debit, it's 2015 and still not taking debit??? I'll still go but only if I hit the ATM prior. Maybe on their sign at the door they should mention having an ATM inside? read more

Magnums is nothing fancy, and caters to a frequent, local crowd. Nothing wrong with this, just not expected. I was in the mood for wings and was skeptical they'd be any good. In fact, I expected crap. I asked the bartender for an unbiased opinion, and she quickly said matter of factly, "best in town". Didn't blink an eye. Ok, fine... I'll bite. I ordered a pound (or pound and a half?) Of hot. When the came out, THEY WERE HUGE. Ok, impressed so far. Turns out they were delicious as well. I mean, damn... really good. Were they the best in town? I'm not sure, but I know they were the best I've had in town. Bartender wasn't yanking my chain. As for the overall experience... beer was cold, service was friendly and fast. What more can one expect? Only reason for the 4-star is the crowd. Local, vocal, and a little ... trashy. read more

Magnum's has a friendly staff and a great atmosphere! The wings come in many flavours, the steak sandwich is good and the specials are also at treat. The beer choices are good in both regular and organic. Try the apple blossom my favourite at the end of the meal. Nice date place, relaxed and friendly. Wonderful pub and grill. The place has been there for 20+years I think. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the food is always spot on. This is my go to place for wings, I honestly don't think I get them anywhere else. Tuesday's and Sunday's are their cheap wing days and I beg you not to let this deal go to waste. read more

They water down their drinks I swear half the liquor bottles are pure water! Bring a flask of you actually want to have a good time! The staff is okay they're a little slow and often forget your drinks they have gotten rid of the cocaine riff raff from behind the bar but can't seem to shake the cocaine dealers in the crowd. I wouldn't even give this place 1 star it deserves negative stars! By far the worst service I have ever received in my life. The waitress Sam and manager Janelle are terrible at customer service. Where do I even start....okay let's start with the fact that the waitress spilt my drink all over my clothes and my cell phone. When she cleaned it up they expected me to drink the half a can of what was left I had to ask if I could get a new drink. When the bill came they still charged me for the drink I asked why it was on the bill and the manger refused to take it off. I then asked so what is their policy on rectifying a situation where you empty half a can of cider on someone and I was basically told the fact that they said "sorry" was enough. We never received anything we asked for from our waitress we had to keep getting other waitress' to remind her. I ordered 10 wings one "wing" was a tiny ball of deep fried batter that look like it got stuck onto another wing and they counted that as a wing (it was not eatable was a grease ball pretty much). When we pulled out the credit card infront of her to pay instead of bringing the machine over the waitress went and started spraying down tables and cleaning them. Leaving us waiting for over 15 minutes until we waved her down. Mind you see saw we were ready to pay. Oh and if your going for wings please ask them for additional sauce on the side. When they toss your wings it barley covers 50 percent of the wings it was very dry. I could go on and on but my advice is to be very careful going to this establishment especially if you have to deal with Sam or Janelle. read more

Went with a couple friends for karaoke and had a great time and tons of laughs The food was delicious, the wings were the size of my cat and reasonably priced for the huge portions. If you're looking for a place to get away from your worries and have some fun this is the spot. Will be coming back again. read more

They force you to give a tip and give slow and poor service. They can't even split a bill properly.

I went to Magnums for the first time recently with a couple of friends. We were going specifically to take part in the karaoke, so I was happy to see that most of the crowd was into it. There seemed to be a lot of regulars. My friends and I had a few drinks, and then decided that we wanted something to munch on. We waited for our waitress to come by....and waited...and waited...and finally flagged down another one. We ordered one plate of mozzarella sticks; for $8.99, it was pretty disappointing. They tasted ok, but there were so few of them. The karaoke was fun and the crowd was good, but considering the unforgiveably slow service and overpriced food, I wouldn't go there unless I wanted to sing. read more

a nice out of the way place to relax and have good eats.....the staff are really nice and the manager is hot......great for bringing in more customers......recently redecorated venue will probably change the type of customer now going.....lots of tv screens great for watching sports....has that cheers attmosphere.......i really like their new drink called the white russian named after Alex Ovechkin .......no ice and no cup........... read more
