Training with Miki has changed my life. From day one, she looked to understand my goals, orient me to the basics of strength training and set goals that would hold me accountable to progress. Over the course of a year together, I've hit goals that I never knew were within reach (my first chin ups and squat/deadlift PRs beyond my bodyweight). I have also built self confidence and camaraderie with a community of lifters. These gains have created a ripple effect into my personal life, encouraging me to be present, strive for my personal best and lift up others. I have Miki to thank for that! read more

I was introduced to Miki at Powerform in Oakland and she is now my regular coach there. I am in my early 50s and while in good shape haven't lifted much in decades (scary to see that in print) and have a few lingering injuries. Miki listened carefully and made two adjustments: she approached specific lifts which could injure me further with care and patience, and she had me do exercises that would help strengthen around those areas to aid in recovery. Of course she pushes me hard in general which I need but also listens to me if something's off that day. Her approach is the right one for me! Plus she has a great positive energy. Miki could not be more highly recommended. read more

I've been working with Mikkie for over a year now, and have had an awesome experience! I hadn't strength trained in many years prior to starting with her, and I'm really happy with the progress I've seen -- not just in terms of the way I look, but in how I've felt functionally in different areas of my life. In the gym, she's super attentive to her clients, and really gets to know you / what you're all about. Mikkie is an incredible trainer and a very genuine and kind person. She met me where I was at (which was incredibly weak when I started!), listened to my goals, and created a fitness routine that balanced pushing me and protecting my body/ health. She is very focused on form and I always felt safe our sessions. She also made sure I understood why I was doing what I was doing so I left with a much better understanding of my body and how to workout appropriately. I trusted her completely and saw so much growth over the two years I worked with her. I only left because I moved. Outside of her knowledge and abilities as a trainer, I loved her company. 1000 stars! read more
