PROS: Even before we decided to go with him, Magid spent about an hour on the phone with me answering questions and walking me through the home loan process. Once we started, Magid did an excellent job giving us anticipatory guidance and responding very quickly to our questions. My calls (if I had to leave a voicemail) and emails were almost always answered within the hour (!) but definitely by the end of the day, including weekends. When we were ready to make an offer on our house, Magid had our loan approval letter to our realtor within 3 hours, despite it being late afternoon on a holiday weekend and him being on vacation. Needless to say, we were VERY impressed. After escrow closed, I had a couple questions to followup and even though he had no obligation to us at that point, Magid provided the same amazing service. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone, and especially for first time home buyers - he is very patient, knowledgeable, and friendly (funny too). Our realtor was likewise impressed and will be recommending Magid to his other clients. RPM has it's own underwriters (people who deal with actually making the loan) so everything went very smoothly. We did not have to wait around wondering if we had all the proper documentation or if we were missing a signature somewhere. CONS: I had to think hard to come up with a con (nothing's perfect), but RPM's appraisal fee was about $100 more expensive than other lenders (when comparing with my friends). However, this is rather insignificant when considering the overall cost of purchasing a home. NEUTRAL: I never actually met Magid in person; everything was done via phone and email. We live a bit far from his office but could have gone in if necessary to submit forms. It worked out well for us since we are reasonably 'techie' and had no problem doing everything virtually. read more

Magid came in as a savior for us. We were working with Citizen's Bank because my aunt suggested them, I can write for days what a horror story they were. Unresponsive all the way up to the regional manager level. It had been over 45 days and they were going to cost me my earnest money deposit (~18k) on top of losing the property. That is when my realtor told us about Magid and we skeptically started talking to him, thinking that it was too late and there was absolutely no hope. Magid listened patiently and understood the gravity of the situation. He proceeded with talking about the game plan, took it upon himself to talk to the seller and her agent to provide them clarity and asking them to give him a chance to come through. He also had us promise that we would not delay in providing paperwork, which we absolutely agreed to. From filing the loan to funding, 18 days flat!!! This even after there were issues on our side. To top off the wonderful experience we got an awesome surprise, he called and told us before funding, he was able to get us an extra $2200 in Lender's credit. Wow, was not expecting that!!
