Within 4 weeks the colour faded unevenly and turned brassy, and the roots did not blend. The layers removed too much density and made my hair feel thin and wispy. Nowhere near to the reference photo style. I declined a $90 gloss and feel the colour service relied on that to correct poor formulation. Permanent dye is also being repeatedly pulled through hair that's already been coloured giving it a dry, patchy look. On another visit, I asked for soft fringe bangs using a clear reference photo, but they were cut wet and left choppy and uneven! This is like basic hair technique 101!

After getting tired of my mangy long hair, I did a little research and found this cute little salon. It's a big space and they have great COVID safety protocols in place, making it feel like a very safe experience. I came in with a couple of photos on my phone of what I want and Sandra gave me exactly what I wanted. She even clarified when I misspoke about what I wanted. It was a very easy process. I hadn't really talked to a stranger for longer than 5 minutes since March, so I was a little feral around the edges. Sandra made it a very comfortable experience. I don't have difficult hair other than its a bit thin. It's got a teeny wave to it but mostly it sits 98 percent straight, and so I don't require miracles to have a decent haircut, but from Trim to East Vanity Parlor all I got was nonchalant service and awful cuts from stylists who just didn't seem to care if they managed to get a loyal client out of me, it was sad because I wanted a Salon I could go loyally to, as the girl at my last place (Joji's on Commercial, and that place closed YEARS ago) quit to move up north. I'm pretty easy going but sadly I just didn't connect with any of these places. I got a rec to come to Bangs from a random person on the internet (scary, right), to the stylist Sandra. I was skeptical but after every bad haircut what was one more? She is AWESOME. She is incredibly friendly and actually has an opinion on your hair and didn't just half ass a similar style to the picture I brought in but chatted how she could make it work with my hair and what would work and gently told me what might not work. She has has a fantastic attitude and I can't recommend her enough. She's stylish, cool AND can cut your hair amazingly. She's all sorts of sassy, and she makes you feel comfortable.
