The first day Dana the caregiver arrived, my mom (& Dad!) were hooked. She was well trained, thoughtful, a "miracle worker" they said. We hadn't been able to get my mom in the shower, it was hard to help her sit in a comfortable position, there were many challenges, and Dana helped on so many levels with a smile and grace. Then when my mom's health quickly went south, I called Teri again to request around the clock care. Within less than 24 hours, Newport Home Care mobilized a team of caregivers who helped us take care of Mom with compassion and skill. She had used them for one of her own family members, and had a great experience. My initial experience with Cheri was very good, they were very responsive to my initial call, and were able to meet with me at a time convenient for me, very considerate of my time limitations with all that was going on at the time. The day my uncle came home, they were right there waiting and willing to help. Over the next 2 1/2 weeks he was home, the caretakers were very loving and attentive. He lived alone, so often it was just him, and the caretakers. For his safety, I had cameras installed, and reviewed them often when I was not able to be there. This is how I know how well they treated him and cared for him. I could see how they took care of him, even when they were alone. And he was lucid, so if something wasn't right, he could tell me. He adored them though, and was very appreciative for their kindness and care. I will mention that there was one caretaker in the beginning that my uncle just didn't seem to click with, so we asked for a replacement and it was granted immediately. As for the management for Circle of Care, Cheri and Genalyn, they were very attentive and always responded quickly with any questions or needs we had. I see now why this company was so highly recommended by my uncle's doctor at UCI. If I had to do it over again, I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Pearl's services were exactly what she needed to stay independent. They helped with daily chores and kept her company several times per week. Gigi was understanding and worked diligently to find us a perfect match to care for our sick loved one. Within in a couple of hours, Susan arrived. She was kind, gentle and eager to care for her patient. Susan was the angel we needed in an extremely emotional situation. Gigi ( the owner) worked with us in parallel with the agreement stipulations, confirming we felt comfortable with the details and payment options. He assisted us again in June when my mother required surgery and needed some assistance when she returned home. We had people lined up a week in advance. We were able to - with notice - revise the plans as my mom didn't need the night care we anticipated. Katie was my mom's day nurse and she was terrific - as are all of the LWHC staff.
