Karen and the tailor (I'm so sorry I forgot her name, but I love her too!!) were so much help as we prepared our wedding. They got our outfits tailored, washed, and pressed before our wedding portraits and then cleaned and pressed again before our actual wedding day. Karen was patient with us and helped us make the best decisions about how to wash our clothes without shrinking anything too much. We go to Magic Touch for our regular clothes too but it's just so nice to be able to get to know the business people in our community on different levels. I will forever love and support our local cleaners, Magic Touch. read more

Magic Touch Cleaners - Our linen wedding outfits that were hemmed, washed, and pressed by the wonderful staff at Magic Touch. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - San Diego, California

Never in my wild imagination did I think I would A) make it to thirty and B) write not one, but two reviews of dry cleaners. I feel it's like some kind of red flag in the dating world. Nice guy, but he writes reviews of dry cleaners in his spare time?! Waiter, another martini. But the truth is I am so impressed with Magic Touch Cleaners and their ability to remove stains that others haven't, I thought the least I can do in return (besides pay them), is to put in a good word. They are definitely not the least expensive and their hours can be maddening, but then name one thing that hasn't been worth the expensive or inconvenience? I have never been disappointed by their work And as some of you know, I can be a savage critic. And they are professional - some might argue matter-of-fact - but at the end of the day, I will happily pay more a true craftsman. They're hyper-local but hyper-worth it! read more

I brought three pairs of pants here to get hemmed, and they did a great job. The work was clean, the fit was perfect, and everything was finished when they said it would be. The staff was friendly and easy to work with, and the pricing felt very reasonable for the quality. I'll definitely come back the next time I need alterations! read more

These guys do a great job. Especially if you have special detailing or sequins...anything like that. I have taken a few pieces of clothing to other places. And they might refuse or even say they can't fix the piece. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. read more

I brought in a shirt to be pressed and fix two small stitches. When I went to pick up the shirt the first time, they had only sewed one spot and the shirt was still very wrinkled, so I brought it back. They took it again for no charge this time, fixed the second stitch that I originally asked for, but the shirt is still very wrinkled. I wish they would have either put in more effort or let me know they couldn't do it instead of just taking my money. read more

Came here to get my suit jacket dry-cleaned. I saw that they have a check-in offer of $10 off, but this can only be used if you're spending above $30. Dry-cleaning one jacket cost about $12. Friendly customer service and the process was very convenient and easy. I dropped my jacket off perhaps around 5 min before they close and they told me that it would take about 4 working days (I was in no rush). About 2 days later, I got a text message saying that it's ready for pick up! Awesome! I love that they use technology to notify customers when their stuff is ready. read more

I have used Magic Touch Cleaners twice in the last year for wedding-related items. First, I had them clean a 50-year old veil which was my mother-in-law's. As the veil was made of lace and was a bit fragile, I was apprehensive, but they did get a great job. After the wedding, I had them preserve my wedding dress which included a deep cleaning as well as having it boxed. The train required some work as I did a lot of walking over some dirty terrain the day of the wedding. The turnaround was very reasonable, less than a month, and I received some progress updates along the way including pictures of the dress after it'd been cleaned and before it was boxed. The box the dress is stored in is also nice. I've also used Magic Touch prior to this for regular dry cleaning and have not had any issues--I'd use them again and definitely recommend them. read more

I can't believe what a great job they did with it, handling it with such care. They were very kind and considerate about it, and everyone complimented how beautiful the quilt is. I would highly recommend them! read more

1 star I brought in a vintage 1980s Pendleton tartan skirt. The receipt issued by this shop describes it as a pleated skirt. The skirt has an embroidered care label under the waistband that reads DRY CLEAN. The pleats are sewn in place from waist to hip and had been knife sharp for the decades my mother and then I owned and cared for this garment. I received it back with the pleats aggressively pressed out. The tartan is buckled and the wool warped in several places that will not lay flat despite attempts at restoration. When I returned to the shop the same day, before leaving the parking lot, I was asked if the skirt had pleats when I brought it in -- the receipt answers that question. I was then offered a repair at $2.00 per pleat, approximately $80-100, to correct damage caused by this shop. I was also told that I should have said at the time of leaving the garment that there were special instructions. I recommend photo documentation of your garments thoroughly before leaving them here. read more

If you ask me whether I had a good time at my wedding, the answer was a resounding yes. Unfortunately, my bustle broke in the midst of the festivities, which lead to my dress dragging on the ground throughout the night. Magic touch helped restore my dress to pristine condition, even managing to remove a red wine stain. I would definitely recommend them for your wedding dress cleaning needs, the before and after pics below speak for themselves. read more

The women working the front counter is hostile, offensive and nasty and I refuse to provide Magic Touch anymore of my business. I have been treated poorly by her before and was apologized to by the manager. I updated my review and returned only to come across her today. Here comment: "I remember you. I should refuse you service". I said: "And I remember you." I told her she should do it if she feels that way and she said "Ok". You can come get your clothes when my manager is here." That is it for me and Magic Touch. I refuse to support a business that allows this type of behavior from their staff to customers who have been going to their shop for more than 20 years. I urge you to take my warning and avoid using this cleaner. Otherwise, be prepared to be treated with disrespect, attitude and hostility. She is the worst. read more

I was traveling for my sister's wedding and her dress got stained 2 night before her wedding at semi- rehearsal . I tried to help her finding a right place to get her dress ready! Luckily the owner was there and he was very kind and responsive! He assured me that he will fix that in 24 hours! I was so afraid that the dry cleaning would ruin her dress, but they did such a marvelous job the dress was as great as new with all the stains removed. I highly recommend this place and I even gave them my own dress for alterations and it was done perfectly! Professional, fast and extremely excellent service! read more

Been coming here for years. Excellent service, they are always on time and always remember me.

Great local cleaner and tailor. The tailor and middle aged gentleman running the storefront are incredibly helpful and kind. Only feedback I have is for the woman handling the phone line to be trained. She's rude, doesn't provide information, and doesn't seem to have an answer to any question when asked. read more

Ben-thanks for the offer. However, I was charged $44 for this item. I not only believe I was overcharged, but that I was overcharged had it been done right.now I probably am going to take it somewhere and have to pay to get it all fixed. So I do not believe $20 free services is fair or reasonable.I would just like my money back. read more

Magic Touch Cleaners is amazing. I've only brought a few items so far but they're fast. Usually have items done before their ETA and everyone there is very pleasant! read more

I just left this place and am EXTREMEMLY put-off. Jasmine was working the counter and she spoke to me in the most condescending way. I arrived here to pick up my five items with one item being isolated from the bag. I asked her if she could please find out if that shirt was cleaned or not. She then very rudely said she can't do that and rolled her eyes. I said could you ask someone else, maybe your boss? She then got even more upset at me at what I thought was a reasonable request. I told her to please just let me pay for my items. After I paid, she just walked away to the back, not a 'thank you', no 'good-bye', just walked away. I see lots of good reviews on here so I imagine that this Jasmine and her behavior is not something that the owner wants as a representation of their business. Either way, I left with a horrible taste in my mouth and I will never be returning. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE read more

I was looking for a cleaners to dry clean my white shirt before my wedding and I was able to find magic touch cleaners via recommendations. Amazing service! They successfully removed gel nail polish stain from my couch cover. Friendly and very helpful!

I took my carpet into this business to get a stain cleaned, they returned it to me without cleaning the stain. Charged me $115. Did not have me sign a waiver explaining they had no guarantee on getting the spot out. Had they told me upfront that they may not be able to get the stain out, I would have opted to not take a chance. I called the business explaining the situation and they were rude over the phone. The gal said the owner was out of town and when he was back he would give me a call. Never received the call. Bad experience all the way around. read more

I love my clothes and do my best to take very good care of them. I bought a brand new Hermes shirt a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, my first time wearing it, some dark brown oil/grease splashed onto it leaving 6 or 7 spots. I was crushed. I tried a Tide pen, dishwashing soap, Wisk.... all to no avail. The grease stains were still evident. I took it to Magic Touch (where all of my cleaning goes - and they've done a good job, but, I've never taken anything like this in before) and showed them the spots. They were concerned because I had already tried to clean them, but said they'd do their best. When I called to check on the shirt the following week, they had it back, but said the spots were still visible, so they were going to send it back and try again. Today, I went to pick it up and, voila! No more spots or stains! I'm SO impressed at their dedication and commitment to getting this corrected for me! They didn't even charge me extra despite cleaning it twice!! Thanks so much to Magic Touch for saving my shirt! I appreciate your effort and great customer service! read more
