We didn't go for the valentines menu but decided to try most of the items that were different in name and combinations. Every item ordered was finger licking good with impeccable fine dining presentation. The interiors were also a mix of brick walls and framed pictures of indian modern sayings along with a beautifully painted image of yesteryears indian actress - Madhubala. The music was indo western fusion and was set at the right tone. There was even a little play corner to keep the little ones busy. The icing on the cake was their customer service, Really friendly and professional. Would definitely go back to try out the other items on the list. Best part, they have their official opening on the 7th of March. Worth reconfirming, if you'd like to go. They would have a fusion band for the night. Below are the items we ordered. Portions were appropriate for the price. Starters Oyster e Hind : Amazing oysters with an indian twist. Have an oyster and gulp down a shot of a refreshing drink which cleanses your palate. Tandoori Prawn : Was so good. Had to order another one. Didn't get a full picture as our mouths took over before the click. Not spicy but super yummy. Tempura Pakora : Indian style mix vegetables pakoras. Good but not out of this world like the above two. Drinks House wine, Mango and peach lassi Mains Amritsari Fish Tikka : A lovely indian mini fish burger Lamb Vindaloo Tacos : Spicy but yum. Only order if you can handle the spice.

North Indian cuisine that leaves your belly feeling merry…read more You're greeted with aromatic flavours when you walk through the door, deliciously pleasing for your nose, to a rather laid-back, clean environment with outdated and tacky décor. However, don't let that discourage you, we're here for the food after all. We ordered from the take away menu which included the Sag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma and Chicken Biryani. Every dish was filled with amazing, rich and tasty flavours. Sag Paneer had huge pieces of cottage cheese submerged within the spinach. Both the chicken and lamb were cooked perfectly, tender and a joy to eat with their respective sauces where you could taste the freshly ground spices and herbs. The Chicken Biryani had a pleasant sweet taste mixed with a wonderful amount of spice with hidden pieces of tender chicken underneath the rice. The garlic naan did a wonderful job of soaking the sauce with its fluffy goodness and texture. We ordered the regular sized versions of these dishes and there was enough to feed us twice over ticking the cost-effective check box and raising my smile dial even further. The service was friendly and prompt, the chefs dressed neatly focusing on their food preparations was nice to see. I have read some negative reviews concerning the food quality and taste and I'm worried that these reviews are not authentic, so please take their advice with a grain of salt and do what I did and ignore them. Yep, that winning feeling :) If you're in the area looking for the Northern India food experience, it's hard to go pass Ameer Tandoori. Although the décor needs work, the food is sensational and one restaurant you shouldn't miss out on.

We ordered the chicken to medium spice levels and found that perfect for us. Also, the value for the portion size is really good. I highly recommend this resturant and would come again. Aangan is located on a street full of competing restaurants with enticing cuisines from the western…read moreand southern parts of India. Aangan tries to do it all with an extensive menu featuring street style food "chaat", indo-Chinese food, South Indian masala dosas, goan fish curry, lots of veggie North Indian options and meat curries with choice of lamb, goat or chicken. Their beverage menu is equally extensive with various types of lassi. The typical salted, sweet and mango lassis are found on the menu but you can additionally order their mixed masala lassi, mixed fruit lassi and even jaljeera. The restaurant has an extensive wine and spirits list too. Portion sizes are large for the price you pay. Aangan means courtyard and though you enter a large enclosed restaurant there is also an attached courtyard with long tables that may be used to host functions. We ordered the chaat platter with our choice of three chaats. We got the samosa, papdi and aloo tikki chaat. The aloo tikki was the most delicious out of the three. Tender potato patty with a smoky flavour in a creamy yoghurt, tamarind and coriander chutney sauce with sliced onion, tomatoes and boiled chickpeas. The samosa filling was above average but not amazing. Papdi chaat could do with a kick to it. The goat madras curry now was one of the best curries I've had. Didn't taste like pataks. Not creamy or buttery sauce. Just a really thick masala sauce with tender pieces of goat and strong but not overpowering fllavours of mustard. The thick garlic naan was equally delicious. We couldn't have enough. Even though I was full I had to get to the bottom of the copper bowl holding the curry. I tried the masala lassi (arrived in a massive mason jar) which was as expected savoury and requires a palette that is acclimatized to drinking masala in yoghurt. The mango lassi was nice but sickly sweet. The dessert options include various flavours of kulfi, gulab jamun, carrot halwa and faluda. The faluda had a strong almost pungent flavour of rose syrup. And it was hard to finish. Should have been served in a sundae glass with a fork as the noodles were slippery. The service is polite, quick and attentive. Make a booking as the place got very full very quickly even on a public holiday. Patrons included both Indians and non Indians. They do lunch take away curry specials for 10 bucks. though some menu items can be worked on - I really enjoyed the food and service.

High turn around of staff and chefs Accordingly, this place is some what cursed by this locations previous owners, People assume it's associated to previous owners. The current owner Jaqdish has been here for over 12 months He is the cook and owner of this establishment. The food is fantastic and best of all they will cater for special needs. Such as I prefer meat curries without meat.... I like the sauce. He understands this and caters for me. I also don't like Ghee/butter on my Naan. The cleanliness of the place is of a high standard. I've entered their kitchen and its spotless. Tables are white paper covered, with white table clothes underneath. Cutlery is standard fare. They are quick to change your plates and cutlery after entrees. The menu offers up all the classics. IMO their Dosa are the best in Footscray. Biriyani is also very good, the sambar (sauce) it comes with is great too. Cheap beer (a jug of Haywards beer cost $8) . Thats right $8 for a jug of beer. I am astounded by this! Variant on what's available (Haywards, Kingfisher, Carlton draught, or the new and exclusive Maharajahs) by their definition a jug is 3 bottles of beer. Oddly and somewhat a little unpleasing the jug is plastic .. I highly recommend this place. Cheap Clean Friendly Quick turnaround I've been coming here since they opened. The owners name is Jaqdish.

When it comes to Indian food, I totally dig this place. Their food is freaking delicious…read more The setting might not be all funky and fancy (it's a strange array of pink and gray furniture) but it doesn't matter when once your meal comes. My personal favorite on the menu are the tandoori aloo which are amazing stuffed potatoes in a yogurt sauce with ginger and garlic. They do a real mean tandoori chicken tikka and you gotta try the beef kashmiri although the vindaloo will knock your socks off. Their menu is big- with butter chicken to rogan josh and deserts to top you off as well as a good choice of vegetarian dishes. Make sure you get some those golden balls of syrupy goodness more commonly known as gulab jamun, they're SO GOOD. Oh, and this place is both eat in and take away so you can enjoy there or at home!

From the outside it looks quite unimposing, but step inside and you'll be in for a treat. At the start of each meal they bring out papadam which are fresh and light, but the best bit is the accompanying mint raita. We're addicted to this stuff and always ask for more to accompany the rest of the meal. The curries are all full of flavour, and super fresh. We've recently discovered the fish curry which sees a delicate white fish cooked in a beautiful tomato based sauce. Oh - and you can't go past the samosas. At only $4.50 for 2, they are large and fluffy - add some of that mint raita and you can't go wrong!

The coffee is for retail sale which is an extra drawcard. Wolf and Hound has found their little niche in a cafe populated area with coffee connoisseur options, not overwhelming people with too much menu choice and feeling refreshing design wise. Nothing is cluttered or complicated and I appreciate this! I most certainly will be back across town for this comfort.
