8/20/22 Wow, I really thought they were accepting credit cards, but I guess the changed this policy... or it never was a thing. My wife and I got a ten minute massage each. The woman went with my wife and I got the guy. The pressure he used worked wonders on me. This store has been here for decades. I remember getting acupuncture here 3 or 4 times. The lady who did it must not have been getting enough clientele, because she eventually stopped being there. This store took over an hear that is huge. There are private rooms in the back section of the store, but mainly, they use the open ended area of the store for massage. There is even the option of chair massage that my wife enjoyed. The open area massage is with clothing on and you are still likely to be covered with a body towel. If you prefer to be nude as I saw one woman prefer at another clothing on massage, you will be sadly disappointed. Unless you specifically ask for a private room(s). Even then, you might be told to leave your underwear on; as well, as your bra. The massage went by quickly and I almost never do ten minutes of massage. I prefer the 60 minute up to 6 hours. Okay, six hours is pushing it and I did this only twice. No, two hours to three hours is plenty. Upon learning this place only takes cash, was alarming, because we did not see any signs for this. Yes, assumption is the mother of all fuckups, but it happens to many of us. We had to use the cash that we had and this left no room for tips. When I come back here, I hope to give this guy the tip he deserves. This store is in a mall that is 70% closed, so getting up to date using credit cards doesn't appear to be something they will do. I travel for work sometimes and like a little unknotting when I get a chance. I like the froo-froo massages okay, but I'm a HUGE fan of this place. It's located in the Lake Forest call next to Macy's. Mind you, there is no real "privacy" as the tables are laid next to one another (clothes on--socks and shoes off only) and you can hear the mall chatter, but MAN OH MAN, when they get to working on you, you won't hear a thing. And they are nice enough NOT to chat with you while you're being worked out. I paid $25 for a 30 min massage and it was just as good (if not better) than the ones where you get nude, have the scented oils and all that. They know exactly where your pressure spots are and use elbows, deep tissue massage and gentle streching to work you out. He even worked on my calfs, ankles and fingtertips...apparently high-stress holding areas. I actually went twice in a week I liked them so much. I am so loosey-goosey, I am plan to sleep ultra good after I put on my night creme and say my prayers! Bottom line---try it--you won't be disappointed! read more

I have been here a few times and even got gift certificates for friends and family, so i know what to expect regarding the location, the open plan and the pricing. So, today was an extra special massage occasion since I managed to injure myself performing domestic chores. Not the fun ones either, just laundry and mopping floors. So, as I was in an unbelievable amount of pain, so painful, in fact, I was cracking really bad jokes, I made my way to the Magic Hands Plus for some muscle correction. For 90 minutes, Miss KC worked the devil out of my bones. She found the offending knots and beat them into submission. Miss KC worked on those muscle groups with such a skillful hand, I was in awe of her work. I am still in awe of how intense the massage was! I asked for very deep tissue work, and I got it, elbows, knees and knuckles. She worked the stones out of my kidneys. (I am not kidding! I didn't even know they were there until she asked if I wanted to keep them as souvenirs! ) Then the computer knots were annihilated. She even mentioned that I spend too much time sitting in front of a computer. I suppose, but, where else can a girl hunch over AND get paid for it? I won't go into too much more detail, there are some things I would like to think is just between me and Miss KC. I may not be her only client, but I would like to think we have something special. "sigh". Anyway. I am sore, but now I can stand up and even do my own stretches! I am so very grateful and will go back as soon as I can. I'm so mad that I've been coming to this mall for years and never considered walking into this place. I've been long overdue for a back massage so I went there out of desperation. It looked busy in the front but I was willing to wait. I asked how long for the "20 minute whole back for $23" service and was walked straight away to the back where there were private rooms. My masseuse was awesome, being firm where I needed it and being gentle in other places. He rubbed the back of head. I don't know if you've ever gotten the back of your head massaged before, but it's one of those things you don't know you need until it's happening. I'm only reviewing the acupressure; I do not get acupunture here. This place is great! We lead jammed up lives and need a place that doesn't require a reservation multi-days ahead and with more time to sit in a frou-frou lounge waiting for a massage therapist. You walk in; point to the amount of time you want. Remove shoes and glasses, lie down and 10 to 30 minutes later, you're refreshed. Your back pain is abated; your wallet isn't emptied out. It isn't off-putting for guys -- so it's something you can do with whoever you happen to be with. Hate shopping with you girl friend? Let her browse the nearby Macy's while you get acupressure. read more

Hi, the massages here are good if you get the right person (the older gentleman with glasses is good). I had a massage a bit ago and had gotten money from the ATM before going. I paid with cash and must not have realized that two of the $20s had stuck together when paying. After I went to get a drink and went to pay, I was missing a $20 (I had only withdrew $60). I went back to talk to the guy who gave me a massage but a language barrier kept him from understanding about the $20. I left a note about it. I called the next day and spoke with a nice lady over the phone and she said to come by anytime to pick up my $20. This is great customer service because she could have said she hadn't seen anything and that I was wrong and argued over it. Because of this I will always recommend them and give them my business. I prefer Chinese massage best because I get scyatic (sp?) nerve issues and hip/leg pain, also Restless Leg issues. Their method helps. read more

Massage therapists are NOT created equal and it takes trial and error to find someone who you really like and hits your body in all the right places-- especially if you have specific ailments like me. One star off for the lack of privacy. The last few visits to this "establishment" have been somewhat disappointing, but adequate. Today I finally was able to receive my free session after my 10 stamps on their card. First I was asked to use it another time, as they were not busy enough today. I declined that request gracefully. Someone new did my so called reflexology, which was underwhelming at best. However, I was willing to give a tip for his efforts. When I went to the front desk for change, I was told the "policy" today was the "free treatment" was now $5.00!!!! The updated cards at their front desk STILL state: "RECEIVE ONE FREE SESSION ON US AFTER TEN STAMPS!" When I questioned this so called "policy" she put my money in the cash drawer and refused to return it. I will never return!!!!! The Better Business Bureau will be interested in how this business deceives their customers! read more

I'm writing this review just because I think this place has A LOT of potential and i'm HOPING the owner reads this review. First and foremost....i only get massages from the females here and there are two asian women that do an awesome job my apologies for not remembering their exact names....but they are INCREDIBLE!!!! My issues are the following: This location ..........1. They are located right in front of the childrens play area in the mall......this is already a problem.....since there are like 3 stationary rides that children can sit on and play....and every five minutes this SUPER LOUD "THE ICE CREAM TRUCK" song comes on and just doesn't equal pleasant relaxing experience. I know its not their fault but they could at least put some doors on this place to block some of the sound. 2. Even if they did block out that noise......the MEN that work in this place are the MOST ANNOYING people ever....it may not be all of them......but most of them are really OBNOXIOUS men that if they aren't massaging someone.....they are laughing and talking all the time.....and they don't just talk......to them....talking is SCREAMING.....because of this i do not ever get a massage in the front room because they just don't stop jabbering EVER or its their cell phones ringing......its rediculous. I"m here to RELAX....not to listen to a bunch of dudes carrying on like they are at a BAR or NIGHTCLUB. FYI, the women are never like this.....they are quiet and focused and VERY in tune with keeping a peaceful environment... but the men here have serious behavior issues......i've literally asked them if they can SHUT UP when i've been there..no reason in being nice about it since they aren't being professional themselves...... Just today i was there sitting on the couch next to the front desk waiting for one of the females to finish and a woman came in...chose one of these male loudmouths and took the front room back left corner....she is not 3 min into her massage and these two bafoons are sitting on the couch carrying on LOUD AS HELL......1 minute later the other guy is trying to show his co-worker pictures on his phone......but he has his phone set to where anytime you press any button it makes this loud beep noise and this idiot just keeps hitting buttons....beep beep beep beep beep beep beep....i think it beeped like 50 times..and LOUD. I'm sorry but this is rediculous......OMG then right in the front room after all the beeps.......this same dumbass makes this huge loud snort sound deeply..like Leonardo DiCapprio from TITANIC and then HOCKS A LOOGI right into the trash can 2 ft away from that poor woman and right in front of me. I seriously wanted to go body slam this FOOL......but my girl came out right after.....I have mentioned these guys to the women that work there and they just roll their eyes and have asked them to keep it down....but even the women at this place think the MEN are idiots..... Someone like the OWNER needs to pull ALL the men aside in this place and straighten these FOOLS out.....NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOUR PHONE OR YOUR MOUTH while we are getting a massage!!!!! Especially don't want to see or hear you spitting in the main room right in front of clients. I SWEAR THESE GUYS SHOULD JUST BE FIRED FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR....its appalling! I love this place. I faintly remember the service being quite amateur when they first store hopped for a while many years ago... [brushes beard] People are "get down to business" friendly. To me that is perfection. They don't make small talk with you so you get mental peace. They don't poke at you softly; they are kneading or "working on those spots" that are bad for circulation, posture, etc. Again, perfection. Hats off to them. Visit'em. Tip'em. For $25 for 30 min. and $50 an hour you cannot go wrong in stopping by. Of course I'd prefer if the tables were not located at the front and opening of the store. But I learned to not mind the mall idlers. They are all too busy living vicariously through the customers. read more

What a dive. First and foremost this is the noisiest massage i've ever been too. I know they cant control the sounds from the mall but at least close the door! On top of that they talk to each other the whole time in their own language while massaging multiple people. One rule of massage is to NOT TALK so much. The experience was horrid. I asked for acupuncture. Now it was my first time ever so i didnt know what to expect. But as I got in. Eventually they put needles every where like usual. I was fine with that, but then they added electroshock for whatever reason. They guy had it turn up so high that wouldn't even relax as my back kept convulsing and flexing with immense intensity. I don't know how I was able to stand up after everything. Like 3hrs went by and I have no idea. I guess that's what u get for $60. Not going there again. read more

If you're looking for good acupressure/massage, this is the place to go. $25 for 30 minutes is a pretty decent price, and they really work your trouble spots! It's not like some places where they just give you a soft rub down. Here, they go at it. Sure, it might hurt slightly if you have really bad knots in your muscles, but the loose and refreshed feeling I get when they're done is totally worth it. I'm not giving a full five stars simply because it's located in a mall, and the front is pretty open. However, there are some massage beds in the back, so it has some privacy. read more

The massages can be great- depending on who you get, and what number in line you happen to be. You get the feeling that these guys are overworked and underpaid- thus, you don't reap the benefits of a concerned masseuse. Also, the English spoken there is very poor, so there is little to no discussion about trouble spots, etc. Plus, they are in a hurry, so more bang for the buck beats real solutions. I recommend a quick massage there- BUT NEVER ACUPUNCTURE!!! I received a session with their "Dr." for acupuncture to solve a serious knot in my right shoulder. The needles were placed, and magnetically charged, and then the doc left.. I don't mean he stepped out, he was gone for twenty minutes. This would have been fine if it weren't for the fact I was already in tears before he left. On my left hand, between the thumb and forefinger, I have a serious knot that has been there since I was a child. I don't like it massaged, let alone stabbed. The nerve in there was hit by his needle, and my entire arm was on fire. However, I had about ten other needles in my neck and back- so movement was not an option. I was stuck- face down, in terrible neurological pain, sobbing for someone to come in and help me. I was yelling from this back room for ANYBODY to come get this needle out of my palm-- I felt so embarrassed. And then, he still wanted 90 bucks... I wouldn't even let him touch me for a "make up" massage after the fact. He just kept saying "see? you ok. No more needle. You are fine. No cry. No cry. No tell." If you are in muscular pain, this place is the greatest by far! I have been here about 50 times, and it is always excellent - very consistently. The deep tissue Asian massage is amazing. And it only costs $30 for 30 minutes. You keep most of your clothes on, and you choose between a male or female for massage. I always give them good tips, because the quality is so outstanding. This is now called Access Health Acupuncture & Acupressure. I went for a 30 minute reflexology session for $30. The bottom of my feet were killing me after work. Linda performed the reflexology and she worked out the top & the bottom of my feet, along with my shins. She worked out places I didn't know were hurting! I felt a million times better. It was very relaxing. I didn't feel the need to talk to Linda, and Linda didn't need to talk to me. I appreciate not having to make an appointment. I like the instant gratification of showing up and getting reflexology on demand! While it is in a Mall, the store & massage tables are very clean and Linda wore gloves while she massaged my feet. Linda was a skilled reflexologist. I highly recommend this place for "On Demand" relaxation! read more

I have been here before and the service was usually good, but this time it was horrible. The lady kept getting interrupted during my massage in the back private room. And she didn't seem to know what she was doing ( compared to the previous masseuse that I have had there). Also, after my time was up she wasn't happy with the amount of tip money I was going to write down, so she requested a higher tip and told me how much to write. I also wanted to put in some praise for this massage haven. I have been going here since I was 13 - almost a decade ago. I go about once a month, but would love to be able to go every day! I actually don't even live near Lakeforest Mall anymore, but it is just such an amazying place that I make sure to stop by every time I visit my parents. Once I tried to tip them $10 on a $25 dollar massage and they refused to take it! They would only take the normal $5. I love this place! The massages are so much better than I've gotten from fancy places that spend half the time trying different scented oils. I always ask for Michael (not his real name but I can't pronounce his real name). He knows all the places where my muscles are tight and works them out. He does talk a bit with other employees but I've never heard yelling or any of the other behavior that a previous rater hated. I ask to go to one of the back tables so I don't have to listen to the mall chatter and there is almost always a table available. You can't beat the price and you get a marvelous massage! read more

After back surgery to address spinal stenosis, I was relieved of pain but left with no feeling in the sole of my right foot and part of my right calf and buttock. The resulting lack of "propioreception" inhibited walking. Neither time nor physical therapy cured the problem. In two treatments with electro-acupuncture, the very professional southern Chinese acupuncturist here has been able to revive nerve connections that had been dead for nearly two years. This has restored feeling in my sole and allowed me to begin to recover muscle function and once again to walk normally. The use of electricity with needles is unpleasant but not unduly painful. More to the point, it has succeeded in stimulating and rewiring a broken nervous system to work again. The man really knows his stuff! Count me as fully satisfied. read more

On December 21, 2015, right before Christmas last year, my husband purchased a $110.00 gift certificate to Magic and Health in Lakeforest Mall, Gaithersburg, MD. I went up there after Christmas 2015 to use my gift certificate. I had a 20-minute massage that was only okay (saving the rest for another time) and when I went to give the gift certificate to have deducted the amount to cover the 20 minutes. I realized my gift certificate was missing and must have fallen out of my purse when I took my phone out while walking the mall prior to going in for a massage. I had to pay for my 20 minutes and explained to the manager my situation. She looked up the date in the book and confirmed my husband's purchase of $110 purchased on December 21, 2015. So the $110 had not been used yet. The Manager told me because it was like cash she couldn't do anything if someone found my gift certificate and used it. Therefore, she said she would make a note (which she did) in the store ledger and if no one used it by the following December 21, 2016, I could then use my $110. This seemed like a long time to wait but I agreed. I stopped by every few months to see if it had been used (it had not per verification via the ledger record). At one point one of the attendances called her manager because I wanted to check the status and confirm all still okay with its use come Dec. 21, 2016 if my gift certificate had not been used. I finally went in on Dec. 23, 2016 to check the status and use my gift certificate if ledger still showed the $110 had not been used. The person I spoke to would not even look at the ledger, which puzzled me and alerted me of a possible issue coming forth. The person I spoke to then told me she didn't have the manager's number. I reminded her that she had called the Manager in the past, including the last time I was there, so she had called her manager before and had to have her phone number (more false info provided to me). I was told to come in to talk to her manager on the coming Saturday, December 24. I went in on that Saturday twice at 10:00 am and 3:00PM, but no show by the Manager. Next time I go in a few days later and the girl there tells me she can't speak English so I leave in frustration. The next time they tell me the Manager was having surgery. I gave them again my cell number to have the manager call me. Then all of the sudden when I get no callback and go in to check with the staff once again, they tell me the store is under new management and therefore my gift certificate was considered no good for use at their store. Further, one time when I was at the desk checking on the status of my gift certificate, a person there was getting ready to pay for a massage just provided to oneself and the person could not find their charge card. I though the lady behind the desk was going to have a total meltdown if she didn't get her money for payment. When you walk in they all come running until they realize you aren't there for a massage. So here I was led on for a whole year and apparently the staff had been all this time give me false, misleading information, leading me on each time I went in to check the status etc. I can't believe how poorly run and managed this place is and how they treated me very unfairly. There was no customer satisfaction whatsoever; just continuous false information being fed to me all along with a plan of deceit towards me. They clearly had no intentions of ever honoring my $110 gift certificate. This place is all about the money and certainly not customer friendly or honest. read more
