Honestly, Starland is better in so many ways. Music is varied and they mix some classics in with newer, even on kids nights. The staff are always so nice and gave us great advice and service for my husband's skates, giving them their first ever wheel change in 25 years. (And believe me, he quad skates a lot!)

Staring at us like he didn't know what we meant and then rudely correcting us in a condescending tone. then while skating we were approached by a worker and told to get closer to the middle or get off the rink because we were skating "too slow" for the outside, when we were skating at a normal pace. We told him we just wanted to be closer to the outside and felt more comfortable, and he just said "well sorry" and skated away. There are multiple skating rinks in this area that have never showed that kind of behavior and allowed anyone of any ability to skate. This is not one of them. They punish the "slower" (normal speed) skaters disguising it as "not wanting you to get hit" instead of the people zipping around and tripping people. Saying all this without even mentioning the fact that while skating I was approached by a man who I'm pretty sure either works there or is a regular, and he attempted to flirt with me. During different times, you may have to pay to rent the roller skates. It wasn't too busy during this time which I am grateful for. They played good music and would sometimes dim the lights to project some fun disco lights. My friend ordered medium fries (about $4) and got a cup of ice water (about 50 cents). The fries were aight. It came with a cup of ketchup. Nothing special but a nice treat.

I asked for a song to be played and she refused calling it a twerking song. (I'm literally 1/2 white) she said she will not play anything you can dance to and a a freestyle dancer this is an issue. if it's busy there is no floor guard. they need an assistant manager as multiple times there have been no games because Erica is helping out. we were playing 4 corners once and skated around for 15 minutes once because she was just gone. parents waltz all over the rink floor not watching their kids. the kids literally slam straight into you. this has happened almost every single session I've been to lately. it's also very crowded. like to the point you're wondering if the fire code is being violated.

It is fun to attend Stevenson hockey games here, as well. And, it is nice with the turf option for local leagues, like Reisterstown Baseball. The rink is always fairly clean and the staff are friendly. I wish they would re-open the snack bar and have skate sharpening, but otherwise, Reisterstown Sportsplex has, and always will be, a second home to me.

Skaters need to have earned the LTS USA Free Skate 3 rewards patch or they will be denied service. Again, freestyle sessions are not open skate sessions, I get that. I started skating again after being off the ice for years because of work and caregiving. I lost everything and I'm trying to get everything back. Slowly I'm getting things back. No coin- operated lockers were there when I went to the rink in 2020. There was no designated waiting area besides the parking lot in 2020. No pro shop with a qualified, experienced figure skate technician in 2020. Hope the rink has those things it didn't have in 2020.
