Yesterday Magic Dan came to our house to perform a birthday show for a group of 6-7 year olds and their parents. Dan really engages with everyone in the room, addressing the kids by name and involving them in the tricks. He has a great sense of humor and gets the adults laughing right along with the kids. The show lasts about 40 minutes which is the perfect length of time for this particular age group. Our birthday boy felt very special and loved getting up in front of his friends to help demonstrate some tricks. I'm a parent who went to a birthday party for a 9 year old last weekend and Magic Dan performed. He was awesome. There were kids from age 3 to probably 12, and he was making the adults at the party laugh just as much as the kids -- if not more. The magic tricks were actually quite good, but it's Magic Dan's personality that really makes the event. I'm actually laughing right now thinking about it. He's just very good at getting everyone in the group involved, so even the super shy kids (and parents) get involved. One thing I thought was incredibly impressive was that he was able to remember the kids names after hearing them one time. So throughout the performance he'd call on the kids to answer questions, name an animal, pick a card, etc. The only other people I've known that could pull off something that flawless with kids are seasoned teachers.... the kind that love their jobs. Dan has been doing shows at our preschool for over a decade. His most recent visit did not disappoint at all! The children and staff alike had the best of amusement and giggles throughout the performance. Dan was maskless but kept on a shield during the entire show.
