This place was my third laundromat since relocating to Kansas. The others were okay, but this place was great! Super clean, two people cleaning all the time. Well lit, well maintained, tons of laundry carts for use, and did I mention the place was clean? If you have to do laundry at a laundromat, I would suggest The Laundry House.

I've been a few times and have never had a single issue with anything. This place is like heaven compared to the other places I've tried recently. The place is clean and well managed. Not a single machine has had an "out of order" sign on it when I've been in. While at times they may be busy, there's more than enough machines for some to always be available. They use a rechargeable swipe cards for payment so no having to worry about carrying around a thousand quarters. You can fill it by using either cash or credit/debit card. Even the vending machines use this card. The entrance is an automatic door which makes loading and unloading so much easier. There are tv's and free wifi. Hours are not posted, but my understanding is they open at 7am and last wash is at 8pm daily. There are varying sizes of machines. Small washer: $2.47 per load Medium washer: $3.43 per load Large washer: $5.49 per load Dryers: $0.37 per 7 minutes Now the best part of all: Charles. I have only been on the weekend so I am unsure of his weekday hours - but Charles is the wonderful man who runs the place on the weekends. He is kind and funny and a great manager. He is constantly walking around cleaning up and helping the customers any way he can, all while cracking jokes. You will see him helping people carrying their clean laundry out to their car often. On my first visit, I was leaving after dark, and while I only had the one basket to carry out, he still walked me out to make sure I got to my car safely. This morning he was handing out Christmas cards to everyone who walked in. It is so refreshing to find a place that goes above and beyond in providing excellent customer service. They are worthy of your business.

The sewing room…read moreseems like something out of Cinderella / some other fanciful movie - it's packed with clothes and there's a giant desk with a sewing machine right in front of the door. Maybe it's because I've never really been in an alteration shop, but I thought it was cool! I'm not a sewer (by that I mean seamstress - althought I'm not the sewage waste kind either), but my dress seemed complicated - ruching all along the bodice and a flowy, ruffly skirt, but she brought it in and hemmed it and it looked as good as new! I liked that she took the time to make sure the dress felt comfortable and adjusted the pins (for marking the alteration spots) as needed. She charged fair prices (I compared them with my siblings / fellow bridesmaids in a different state, and the prices were exactly the same) and had the dress done within a week or two (on the same date she wrote down on the slip I got when I dropped the dress off). If I have any future alterations, I'll be back here.

Of those 29, 11 were out of order. Most of the machines I used were really loud and one front load washer didn't seem to fill with water like the others. The clothes got wet but I never saw any accumulation of water in the machine like the others. A different front load washer never got hot. It was the only load I wanted to wash hot and the water was cold through every cycle. The whole place is dirty. The bathroom had no toilet paper. All of the trash cans were empty when I was there. The coin machine did work. There is a vending machine with ziplock bags of laundry detergent. You can wash your clothes here. It isn't glamorous but it should get the job done. Update: While folding and putting away the laundry that was washed and dried at this laundromat, I've found several oily looking stains on multiple clothing items. I've been to this laundromat twice and I've found those spots after both trips. The first time I though maybe it must have been something on the dirty clothes that just didn't come out in the wash but now I'm convinced, after doing a second load with the same stains left, that it is either the washing machines or dryers that are leaving these stains. I won't go back.
