He studies body mechanics, physiology, psychology, and history, and how all of those impact the search for and achievement of the modern swing. Garrett is able to teach at each students individual level, and I have watched him teach three year olds, 90 year olds, one handicaps and 40 handicaps and he brings the same, fun-loving approach to each scenario. Garrett ultimately wants to bring people to the game for the love and enjoyment of golf itself and he's very good at his craft. Very highly recommend Garrett for golf lessons of any age or handicap level. David Parnell

Patty Melt &We came for the golf. We did not come for a culinary revelation. And yet…read more Mother's Day at Topgolf Birmingham -- sunshine, bays full of laughter, cold drinks, the satisfying thwack of a well-struck ball. We were deep into the fun when hunger hit, and I'll be honest: when we picked up the menu, our expectations for the food were somewhere between "stadium nachos" and "edible." We ordered anyway. What arrived changed the conversation entirely. The patty melt. Let me walk you through it. A genuinely great burger -- thick, juicy, seasoned with the confidence of someone who actually cares -- blanketed in a molten combination of American and pepper jack cheese. Caramelized onions, slow and sweet. A secret sauce that earns its mystery. Crunchy, creamy slaw for contrast. And then, the move: served on upside-down buns, which sounds like a gimmick but lands as genius -- the toasted crown becomes the base, the structure holds, every bite stays together. This is a burger built by someone who has thought deeply about burgers. The fries matched the moment. Hot, seasoned properly, zero complaints. Service was leisurely -- this is Topgolf, not a drive-through, and the kitchen is clearly cooking with intention rather than speed. On a perfect outdoor day with good company, the wait registered as background noise. The vibe here is already the whole point: fresh air, laughter echoing across every bay, people genuinely having fun together. The food used to be the footnote. The patty melt just became part of the headline. A rare, unreserved 10/10. Fries -- Mother's Day Visit
