Referred to as the "Marketplatz," this is a nice little park-like area along Main Street in…read moredowntown Fredericksburg. Often this is where the town will hold little events, such as the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in December. There are many short walkways, benches to sit and relax, and plaques/statuary to read. It is well-lit with handsome light poles, there is lots of grass for kids to run around and get their wiggles out (plus a play structure in the back), one section has a roof and many picnic tables for gatherings, and plenty of public restrooms that are serviced regularly. It's an enjoyable place to come to when you need a break from shopping around! This year they did a good job decorating for Christmas with a big tree on the lawn, the traditional German "pyramid," string lights from the awnings and on trees, and some kiddie structures like a wooden train/sleigh/gingerbread house. There was even a small ice skating rink set up toward the back for a fee.

She took the time to come up with a floral proposal that gave me options for my bouquet, the bridesmaid bouquets, the groomsmen boutonnieres, flower girl bouquets, mother corsages, and table flowers. The proposal was nearly ten pages long, and lovingly put together. We ultimately went with a plum, blackberry, gold, peach, coral, and cream palette with peach roses, ranunculas, scabiosas and peonies. The bouquets were loose, and very organic, like wildflowers growing on a vine. I loved it. Best of all? Liz worked within my budget and went above and beyond what was expected of her.
