This is a fantastic whole/organic/health food shop and so much more besides! We were so surprised…read moreto find such a large and well stocked store of this kind in such a tiny village! There's so much choice that you can spend ages just browsing round. We also buy a lot of things we can't get locally in our town, and we usually buy some of the lovely fresh snacks to have a picnic by the estuary. In addition to all the food and wine, they sell gifts including local crafts too (I bought some attractive wooden jewellery once) and there's a little cafe as well selling great coffees. It would take me all day to write about everything you can see in this shop so you'll just have to look at the website for the rest! Friendly staff too, always ready for a chat or to help you find what you're looking for. Great for everyone but also vegans, vegetarians and those on gluten-free (and other) diets.

A great store to buy Vegan fresh and frozen food plus canned and dried goods. They also sell health food and Vegan beauty products. The owners and staff are lovely and the whole place has a very independent, hippy vibe which makes a refreshing change from Holland & Barrett et al. Now open 7 days a week including Bank Holidays.

Despite the place being mad busy, the staff were still cheery and polite, and the service was fast. My 'snack size' steak burger was tasty, although I expected a bit more for the price of £4. My wife's soup of the day (curried butternut squash) was very nice and filling, even the smaller serving. I'd recommend their hot punch. The shop downstairs has a very wide range of foodstuffs, and the fresh produce looked very good.

I wish they'd do waitress service. However, one good thing is that you can point at exactly the things you'd like, and, if you choose to add salads, you can fill your plate as full as you like for no extra charge. For example, today I had the bean burger (which was large) with lots of curried rice and green salads, tomatoes, red cabbage and coleslaw - all for £4.75. It was all delicious too. They have soya milk too which is an advantage to vegans and many vegetarians (like myself). Some nice cakes too. I have found some of the staff a little off-hand in the past but the lady who served me today was really friendly. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2008: We got there very early but there was still a long queue.
