My boyfriend and I split a plate of bangers of mash and it wasn't hard to see why it's an English favorite. Deliciously seared bangers (sausages for us Americans) served over the most creamy buttery mashed potatoes slathered in scaldingly hot gravy. The next day, after being so pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, we returned for dinner and ordered buffalo wings, a cheeseburger, and chilli con carne. All I have to say is I never knew pub food could taste so flavorful and refined. *Plus if you're a fan of drinking games/ boardgames this place seems to have it all.

If the road you're going on feels a bit quiet (New King Street), keep on going! I went there 3 times in 7 days, so I think that makes it worth the 20 min bus journey. Small, nice & cosy Victorian pub, standing a bit marooned on a quiet street, but the place packs a punch inside with an amazing selection of different draft beers, darks beers and ciders. The stout I drank was so strong, it was only served in halves. I've not tried the famous bottle collection, it's on the list to do. A Friday evening and Saturday lunchtime felt nice and busy, but there were plenty of seats, and you could just as easy grab a newspaper and while away an hour. Very inviting place, it feels like you could watch the word go buy here. Definitely a place to go back to. This has to be a decent and well run place and this is a place worth supporting.

I reserved an area for 40 people for the boyfriends birthday and couldn't have been happier with how the evening went. They reserved us a huge area which spanned both inside and outside the mismatch building. The first thing you notice is obviously the big red bus that you can actually dine upon. The next it's quirky greenhouse-esq. interior and then you can head out into their back garden area that has tables, a raised greenhouse area and plenty of available seating. They have a cocktail happy hour from 5 till 8 where cocktails are just £5 and they're pretty damn strong cocktails! And they also serve some fantastic street food. I opted for the wunderburger and it was god damn wunderful! Perfectly cooked juicy patty, topped with cheese, bacon and all the trimmings. Just wunderful! The only negative I have is that once they started getting busier the wait for drinks was rather extensive due to all the cocktail making so I'd just recommend a few more staff on those busy nights. Other than that I had the perfect evening and my boyfriend enjoyed his birthday immensely. Fantastic venue and another Deptford hidden gem!

It was about the social groups and charity groups in and around the Lewisham area and how us the community can help! There was also live music from artists in and around Lewisham and they all had a similar message and that was that we as a community, are all one and that we should work together to keep the area we live in a happy place. This was a good event and they should have more of these events around london. I didnt stay long (about an hour and a half) as i had work the next day but i would have stayed much longer! The venue itself, Wunderlust is quite a quirky place it has a huge red bus situated at the entrance and sells german hotdogs (hence the name!) Its decorated pretty with fairy lights and is like a little hidden den as it has like pathways which lead to different rooms and areas.. would recommend checking it out of your in the area..

With Iron man posters on the walls, a Simpson's pinball machine, darts and other decor straight out of a Hackney Flea Market, this place brings the East to the South East without the pretention you sometimes get in Shoreditch. Beer selection is great, according to my craft beer loving friends, and their cocktail menu has some delicious sounding mixes. I was pretty happy to find that a pint and a gin and lemonade only cost me £8-£9, instead of the usual £10-£15 I would expect from a similarly styled establishment. The owner is incredibly friendly, and happily chatted with us as we lounged on two leather couches near the window, enjoying the dimly lit ambiance on a Friday night. Bartenders are equally as cheerful. I'm very excited to see this place become a happening, popular boozer in my neighbourhood. Also can't wait for the pizza too. You've been to a couple riverside pubs in the area only to find them all teeming with yuppie-types,…read moremonopolising every last bit of glorious patio space on what is perhaps the last sunny day of a summer that's done its best to cling on desperately to sunshine and mild temperatures. You just want to enjoy it, I know. I know. So when you can't even get a space INSIDE one of the aforementioned riverside pubs, and you didn't really want to eat oysters on your Sunday pub outing anyway - you rich a-holes - you head a little farther south. A little farther into the Isle of Dogs. Farther into the unknown. But then you can happen upon the Pepper Saint Ontiod, and it will be a happy day that you do. So the building appears to have been brought to life in Thatcherite Britain, like many of the buildings on the dreary Isle of Dogs, but its austere and utilitarian architecture belies the Pepper Saint's idiosyncratic personality. The mismatched furnishings and accessories from various decades and eras creates a pub pastiche that endears rather than cloys. And on sunny days, you'll find an armchair or two outside on the concourse overlooking the dock - along with some dedicated outdoor furniture of course. The food here is consistently inexpensive and invariably satisfying. Gastropub fare, this is not. But stop by for a light pub lunch or a proper Sunday roast, and you're sure to leave satiated. Add to this a better-than-average variety of drinks on tap along with a wine menu and high-quality spirits alongside neighbourly good service behind the bar, and you can't ask for much more in a pub. Oh, but /THERE'S MORE/ you also get a pool table and table football upstairs (along with more comfortable furniture sprawling the impressive floor space) and a totally hip soundtrack rocking the indie disco with tracks from the Jackson 5 to Portishead to Two Door Cinema Club. I'd say this pub belongs in a place like fashionable East London rather than the Docklands, but then - if it were - I'd never want to go. You see, I'd probably never get a chance to sit on one of the Chesterfields, filled as they'd surely be with moustachioed 20-somethings wearing low-cut vests, leering at me smugly from their ever-present positions on them. So here's to you, Pepper Saint. And stay just the way you are - malapropos in Millwall.

Could have done with a pot of thicker gravy to put on all of it. It comes with plenty of gravy on the plate but it was a bit thin for me. The meat was great though so I wasn't complaining. I also tried the chicken which was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside as it should be. Don't be put off by the building from the outside. It is relaxed and friendly on the inside and has a pool table upstairs and board games. In the summer you can sit out round the side and look out over the dock. Worth trying the berry crumble with ice cream good to top off a meal. Bit of an odd place but worth going to. Staff are friendly and beer selection is good.

As a Caribbean family with Ghanaian roots, we were really looking forward to it. They charge high prices for low quality service. When we ordered our drinks, the waitress got it wrong, and our daughter's soft drink took about 20 minutes to arrive. Even the ice came much later. In addition, we were initially told that they did not have goat meat, so we ordered oxtail. However, after waiting for forty-five minutes for our food, we were then told that goat meat was indeed available and would be ready in a few minutes. Those few minutes turned into another 15 to 20, and when the food finally arrived, it was the wrong order, and the meat was tough. It was clear that the young waitstaff were unprepared and overwhelmed even though there were only 5 tables. In total, we waited an hour and forty-five minutes for our food, and the overall experience left us disappointed and frustrated. We do not recommend this resturant and we will not be returning.
