If I could give 0 stars I would! The initial transaction took place on June 27, 2024, when Mae Fence was paid a deposit of $4,465.00, which was half of the total fence cost. The fence was installed in October 2024, and the final payment of $3,465.00 was made on November 6, 2024. During installation, the crew damaged a water pipe, which required immediate repair. My husband and I had to locate and hire an additional company to come out and fix the broken pipe. We paid for the repair out of pocket. As a result, Mae deducted $1,000.00 from the final payment, reducing it from $4,465.00 to $3,465.00. The business committed to providing quality services and products, backed by a lifetime warranty on the aluminum fence, a three-year installation warranty, and a one-year warranty on the gate, gate closures, and locking mechanisms. The nature of this dispute concerns issues related to the fence installation: 1a) Yard damage during the installation process. 1b) The gate closure is loose and unsecured. Regarding 1a, during the initial installation, the crew dug several large holes in both our yard and our neighbor's yard. These gaping holes remain unfilled, with no grass restoration, and present a physical hazard on both properties. Regarding 1b, the gate closure is loose, does not shut flush, and a nail has fallen out at the closure site. My husband and I have attempted to contact the company multiple times, but we have received little to no response. Definitely do your research before choosing this company to build your fence. You save yourself the irritation and headache. Reply as follows ................................,....So its been a month since I commented on an add and you replied here to my messenger. Ill attach some pics after this comment.... Unless you are coming to repair the fence with stainless steel screws on every single picket for about 200 lineal foot of fence, I'd rather do it correctly and myself. It'll be about $150 plus in screws not counting my time. This fence was $10,000 and isnt anywhere near worth that kind of money. Live and learn I guess. There are 2, 3 4 pickets PER PANEL that are coming loose all the way around. This fence hasn't been up but 6 or 7 months and can not weather its first winter. Its not worth the fight, the wait and the guarantee that it will be fixed correctly to the standards it should be. I waited a couple of months to repair a gate on the fence and it took 2 times to get that right. All in all , about 2 and a half star review out of 5. I would have saved myself $3000 if I had to do it all over again and went another company. If there are major defects I'll contact you , like the post falling down or something catastrophic, other than that, ill fix it myself the right way. read more

My husband and I had a fence installed end of June 2025, after it was installed, we decided we wanted to add additional gates. We were schedule 7/28- my husband took off work and no one showed up or even called. We were rescheduled for 8/5/2025 -AGAIN no one called or showed up. After second no show, we canceled the project and asked for our money back. I emailed several people and asked to speak to a manager about my concerns about their lack of professionalism and POOR customer service. of course, no one called. I really do not think these people care. A business that cares would have done a follow-up call. After final inspection my husband stated the fence as poorly installed and not level. Screws were placed inappropriately due to poor alignment. They also left mounds of dirt in our yard that we had to remove. Im in day 5 of my one day installation. Still not done. Need I say more...yes During installation they broke a gas line leading to my pool, we had Duke mark the location, but Dukes marks were off. That said Mae has offered no help in getting this resolved. Im on my own, and have had difficulty finding a plumber who can get the needed repair parts. So Im doing that myself. Meanwhile for some reason they have not installed the 10' gate. We spaced this because it was a standard size. Their reason for the delay is that it is a custom gate. Makes no sense. We were promised completion of the gate yesterday, the workers showed up, but the gate did not. I really like the fence, but they have no customer service, are unavailable when called on the phone, and the onsite workers only speak Spanish...I do not. As for value, well if you add in the $500-$600 it will cost me to fix the damage they did, not so good. If we didn't have this problem then its pretty good. read more

The craftsmanship is appalling and the professionalism of this company is non-existent. They didn't even know our property line upon arrival or have updated plans. Mae Fence installed a metal fence across my blacktop driveway. They set the posts in cement and made no effort to cover the cement in any type of asphalt patch to match the rest of the driveway. The post holes were done poorly, not evenly filled, and initially topped off with some of the dirt they had dug up. 3 separate crews from Mae stopped out but the end product still looked poor. When I tried to explain my issues with the job they did, the GM told me the job looked "fantastic" and there was nothing more they could do. Ended up fixing the issues myself. read more

Do not use this company. They are so unprofessional and no workmanship. This is a company that doesn't take pride in their work. This is all the things that I had issues with. Wrong material and drawings brought to the house the first day. Have been out 5 times to put up fence and to fix issues (and still not fixed). Drinking at my house left beer caps in my yard Put wire on wrong side of fence made them stop and take it down to do right. Wire of fence above wood boards. Wire fence not stapled down to secure wire from bending or gapping. Didn't cut off extra wire at the bottom of fence. Wire bent and dented wire fence. Boards not cut to correct length. Uneven cuts. Boards not flush at corners leaving gaps. Split boards. Boards not against butted against the house so my dogs can't get out of yard. Nails shot though and sticking out other side. Gaps in between boards. Top caps missing and uneven. Springs on wrong side of gate doesn't close gate and one missing. Underground cable dug up and left above ground. I understand that Covid held up a lot of materials but to get the material a year and half later and then to not get a completed job nor a phone call for a resolution is ridiculous. Horrible in communicating with back ordered items, and we feel as though the only reason that we have our fence today is because we demanded our money back. Very disappointed in this company. Our 4' aluminum fence w/puppy panel was installed on October 29th - without the 2 gates. We were told there was a manufacturing delay of about a week. We were charged automatically on our credit card the full amount for a completed job that same day, October 29th. It's December 8th, almost 6 weeks later, they have our money - and we are still waiting on our 2 gates to be installed. We absolutely love the fence, but without gates, and just panels tied up to enclose the area; what an absolute disappointment. Hoping we see our gates and a completed job this year. We live in Delaware, Ohio and did some research on the company. A few of the neighbors had Mae Fence install their fences. The only issue that I found was that a neighbor had a vinyl panel that came off during a storm and that neighbor said they had issues with Mae Fence not coming back in a timely manner to address their repairs but eventually it got repaired months later. After much research, Eventually, My wife made a decision to move forward with purchasing a vinyl fence Install from Mae roughly 3 months ago. The crew came and built the vinyl fence in one day. They left one of the post right next to my house crooked, a bottom piece was also dented in, the locks were sticking, and the lock had a spring that was already rusting. I called them the next day to inform them of all of these items. They sent repairmen out 3 times, the first time, the crew came out only to assess the problem even when I sent them pictures and described the repairs. The second time, 2 a crew came out but did not have the proper machinery to dig up the post, so they only replaced the dented panel. The third time, they came out and again, did not have the proper equipment. I called to follow up on the situation as I eventually spoke to the General Manager, Adam who assured me they would be at my house two weeks ago but there was a no call no show so it only made sense to follow up since Melina emailed me stating they would show up on 9/22. On 9/22, I took time from my work to call them on my break, Melina advised me they will call before they come. After multiple no call no shows, this just wasn't good enough, I need to know exactly when I should expect them. I asked to speak to a manager and spoke to their GM, Adam, who told me to F- off and stated that he was doing me a favor for even having someone come out and repair the misaligned post and that the misalignment was not a big enough deal. So since he represents the company, their lack of professionalism is basically summed up that they specialize in fencing but do not care if is misaligned. So in conclusion, I should have went with my gut feeling after communicating with Adam prior to the install. The first time I spoke to Adam was prior to the install, we had a phone discussion the day before to make sure we were all on the same page even if the crew does a walkthrough prior to working. IF you are looking for a fence, do not choose this company. The bad reviews on here and many other sites have merit. These individuals who work in the office give customers a run around and lack integrity, specifically Adam. He is GM of the company and feels empowered to tell a customer who has already paid to F- off, that speaks volumes on the type of culture the owner creates in the company. All for what? Because a customer wants to make sure the crew shows up to repair the fence? The employees are a representation of a company. I want you to think about what kind of experience you want from a company? Would you give your money to a company who will sell you up front and then not follow through on the repairs like they advertise? I have reported my experience to the Better Business Bureau and multiple website reviews in hopes that my experience deters people from working with this company. We requested a quote with Mae, and had a good experience with the salesperson. The quote was competitive, and the reviews were well above average over all. That's where the positive experience ended. When the workers arrived on schedule, I reminded them of a few key points I made with the salesperson. When I saw the completed project, I saw they did not follow what I had requested (All I requested was for them to follow the current fence line with the new fence.) They cut several of the angles short, making my small yard inside the fence much smaller. I followed up with the company and they were fairly responsive on the phone. They requested photos, and I provided them. There were a couple other issues including a gap between the fence and my house big enough for the dog to get out, a very loose post, and debris that wasn't picked up . They said a manager would come out to discuss it with me before the work was corrected, to make sure they knew what needed to be done, especially since they did it wrong in the first place. This did not happen. Several men arrived and just did the work. No one knocked on the door to discuss anything before or after. I had to go out when I saw them working to confirm what they were going to be doing. We are now 14 months out, and just past a pretty big windstorm on 3/25/23. There are two places where the fence was compromised - both appeared to be due to workmanship. We chose not to contact Mae to fix it under warranty given our doubt we would get good service, and a need to get it taken care of immediately so our dogs wouldn't get out. We worked to repair the issues ourselves, and found that in 2 of the holes that they dug to fix their initial job, they never put cement in - just filled with dirt, which obviously led to the compromise in the storm. The other issue was they did not put screws in to hold the end panels in the posts. They clearly were not interested in fixing their mistakes - we can only assume they didn't include time in their project schedules for corrections, and just rushed it; or worse - did it on purpose. We completely regret going with this company. I'm not surprised by all the negative reviews we are now seeing. We wished there had been more when we signed on with them. read more

A couple of crews came out for the install including a finishing crew that did the final detailing. Would definitely recommend them because the fence turned out great. Unreliable and unprofessional! I had an in-home consultation scheduled that had to be rescheduled because the person coming was in a car accident. I did get a call from someone named Matt who let me know the appointment had to be postponed. Matt told me he would come to my property a few days later and measure the yard, which did not happen. I called the office and asked why Matt had not been out to measure. She scheduled a new consultation appointment for today at 5:30pm. I waited until 5:55pm. No show, no call. Overall, we were fairly pleased with the quality of work and the finished product. That being said, their crews definitely have some room for improvement. The cleanup could've been more thorough. They used small chainsaws to trim the post tops before putting the caps on. Most of the caps are somewhat crooked. Not enough to sour me towards this company or give them an unfair/nasty review, but it could've been done more neatly. Their charges are quite fair, so you tend to be somewhat forgiving, knowing that you got probably one of the best deals out there! read more

Terrible company. Completely wasted our time. Said they could install a fence in our back yard without drilling into our decking material. The day they came to do the install they said they would have to drill into our decking material and that they did not have the main brackets made to install the fence and they said it would take 2-3 days to make them. After weeks of calling them to figure out when they were going to come back to install they said they were waiting to hear back from us about what they wanted them to do even though we told them multiple times exactly what we wanted. To make things even worse we had to call for a week asking for our deposit back. When they finally said they were going to send the refund on the deposit they ended up charging us a second time for the deposit amount and we had to call back again to get both deposits refunded. read more

To start off my experience with the sales rep, it was GREAT! He assured me that he can get the fence installed in my new home for the price range I was looking for. Now, Mae was more expensive than others, but I went with this company because I was looking for the earliest install date (4 dogs in a new home..walking them is a lot of work!). My original quote was for 6k for 200 ft. of fencing with 2 gates. As soon as I paid the down payment to lock in the installation date, that's when everything went downhill. I was told my price would be 1,500 more because I needed 230 ft. installed, and not 200. I also requested to have Mae handle the HOA approval and permits, and a week before installation, I found out that this didn't happen. The day of installation came, and from the Welcome email I received, I was expected to be approached by the installers to walk me through what I can expect. This didn't happen. 2 guys hung out in my yard for about 2 hours before work began. I ended up walking out to ask if they were here to install and if they knew the HOA rules to follow. They were unaware of the HOA rules, so thank goodness I was able to take a break from work to check on them before the work began. The installation itself only took about 3 hours and I was blown away by how quick they all worked. It started raining that night, so I didn't get to walk around to really look at the quality until a few days later. Once I walked the perimeter, I was instantly disappointed. Every fence section had gashes and scratches all over them. I understand a few will happen from hauling the material, but for what I paid for, I expect higher quality material. I then emailed Mae asking for a resolution and was told that someone would be out within a few days and that never happened. A week later, I asked for an update, was told I was being passed to someone else to handle, and haven't heard from them since. So, overall communication, quality, and price for Mae Fence is highly NOT recommended. read more

Absolutely horrendous experience. In June we ordered the moving of an existing fence and installation of new pieces around a pool and garden area. On the day of installation, workers arrived to dig holes and cut down the existing fence posts. After this was completed they realized that they did not have the correct pieces to install the new fence. They indicated new fence would need to be ordered. We were originally told this would take a few weeks. A few weeks turned into 10+. This left my pool exposed until it was finally completed at the end of September. The owner was impossible to reach with his secretary simply stating that she would get our message to him. Only after I got his personal mobile number from his sales guy did I finally manage to reach him. His justification for the delays was that the sales guy had quoted the job to cheap. When his workers finally arrived 2 weeks after his promised date, they left behind a horrible mess. I spent hours picking up broken metal, screws, drill bits from around my pool area and glass, not to mention a few dozen cigarette butts. read more

From beginning to end, the folks at were very professional and did a great job. Matt came a few days after calling for a review of the yard and a quote. He was on time, and the review was quick and easy. I told him I was still looking around and would get back to him shortly. After deciding to go with Mae due to cost and what I believed to be great quality, we had our date scheduled and only had to wait around 6-7 weeks. Day of installation only took ~4-5 hours, They showed up right around 9:00am and got straight to work. I had a few questions on gate placement, the crew answered that. About an hour in, the post hole digger cut my internet line (minor disruption), that wasn't the best, but they had it repaired within 30 minutes and I was back online. After installation, we walked the fence, everything looked great. There was still some dirt around the post holes (to be expected), but they had removed the large mounds of dirt, which was great. They cleaned up and headed out, and we are very happy with our fence! read more
