Simply put, Emily and her crew are amazing. This was our first time traveling outside of the United States, and the language barriers and cultural differences had us quite nervous about going to a different country.
How wrong we were. Once we met up with Emily, Madrid opened up to us like a book. Since there weren't that many folks on the tour for our evening, she invited a couple of her acquaintances along for the tour. They were just as awesome as Emily, and really made the evening amazing.
Originally we came to Madrid for the museums, the numerous tapas and bar, and the nightlife. If anyone is coming, you HAVE to get in touch with these folks, and go on their tour. I honestly wish that we did it both nights we were in town, it was that awesome.
Emily is amazingly knowledgeable about Madrid, the history, the culture, everything. As we walked from tapas to tapas, she pointed out interesting landmarks, restaurant, and things that we should visit later, and stay away from. She literally turned out trip from being your run of the mill vacation into something that I'll remember forever.
She was super easy to talk to, super fun to drink and eat with, and at the end of the tour, sat down with us and recommended butchers, the best Madrid paella, and even set us up with some vendors locally that would work with us and even spoke English! The crowning part was once she realized that I love cooking, recommended a "Spanish Paella Cooking Class'!
I can't recommend this place enough. If you come to Madrid, do this tour. It opened doors that would have otherwise been closed, and really made us feel like we were welcome in what can be an intimidating city! read more
