A cozy nook off the main stretch of the road, I noticed this shop whilst walking with my boyfriend's family as we explored the town during our Thanksgiving visit. The yarn bombed parking poles drew me in, and I realized it was a fibre/yarn shop! I HAD to check it out. The amount of variety squeezed into this little space is fantastic--so many colors, textures, and weights of exotic and small-manufacturer yarn; gorgeous color sets of fibre and more. Although the patterns and accessories did not contain much in the way of crochet-specific things, the lady in the shop said she had been wanting to focus on increasing interest in crochet in the shop's community. I left with a handful of yarn hanks and a beautiful birch hook with a decorative handle, and with full satisfaction! It made my day in a small downtown area that consists mainly of real estate shops and salons. read more

A lovely little spot - packed to the gills with interesting yarns! The focus is clearly indie dyers and small batch producers of yarn. They offer many interesting classes, but it's also easy to arrange a one-on-one. My 6yo daughter is passionate about spinning, so she and I took a class one Sunday with the owner, Dayna. We learned everything we needed in order to get started, and Dayna was a wonderful teacher! My daughter now practices in the car each day, and we plan to go back to buy more roving soon. read more

This is by far the best yarn shop I have ever visited. The variety of yarns is impressive, especially if you are tired of the same old wool and acrylic blends you see everywhere. There are plenty of patterns and finished projects to get you inspired, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Madison Wool is always offering unique events that keep me excited about knitting (and spinning and felting....) all year round. Highly recommended, I always walk away happy. read more
