There's a large pond near the parking lot, a memorial located behind the municipal buildings and police department, and winding paved paths that take you around to all of the sights and sounds of the park. The parking lot is good sized and offers some EV charging stations.

This is a really neat park that nicely bridges natural and active areas. There's a great view of…read moreseveral ponds that are full of birds and surrounded by some bird houses. It's really relaxing to watch the water and wildlife from the bridges. There are several athletic fields, including some very nice baseball diamonds, and a shelterhouse with restrooms. The playground is located near the ponds and is extremely cool! It is nicely worked into the landscape, taking advantage of varying heights with a lot of neat ways to get up and down to the various levels, from boulders to jump on, giant stone steps to take, slides, stumps to step on, and the like. There is a great zip line that kids can easily work themselves, and it really picks up some great speed. There are climbing walls, nets, and musical elements. It looks like there is a really nice water play area during the warmer months - it has a nice flow down the hill, over rocks, under logs, and ending in a sand area. We definitely want to come back again when it's warm to check that out. A paved multi-use trail is also available. We really enjoyed this park!

It was highly approved and much enjoyed. There is a small parking lot available too.

Two playgrounds in the park itself, one small but good, the other big and excellent. Plus, two playgrounds at the elementary school next door. We were worn out by the time we saw that.) The main playground by the shelter and the service building is big, with multiple areas, and is accessible for almost anyone- stairs on several sides, and a level access off to the right. There's a music machine, always popular. Lots of climbing stuff and slides. Some games. Musical areas, mazes, balancing stuff, and more. Shades on the top of most of it, though the slides can get hot. Also plenty of benches, though no shade for those. Dublin has a lot of good parks. This is right up there. Worth a detour if you have kids.

You can access it via the street - though it's called Highgate, Highgate Ave actually turns into Masefield right around the section where you can find the entrance to the playground and trail access (it's labeled as Olentangy Bike Trail, HIghgate Entrance" on the signage). There's street parking available. The playground is very nice! It is good sized. There are swings (traditional and baby), a play area for little kids, and a play area for bigger kids. There's a fun little garden with a tiny walking path, and a large rock that's good for climbing and jumping. The spinny toy here works really well and kids who are big enough can do it themselves. There's a very interesting 'arch' like structure that it like an upside down see saw, as a kid can sit on each end. It also has hand holds that let them use it kind of like monkey bars or just hang. There are multiple slides, monkey bars, and lots of climbing structures. There is good shade around several benches and picnic tables nearby.

The playground area is lined with wood chips. There is also lots of space to run around, and lots of trees. Like the name of the park suggests, this is a very sensory-friendly park, and there are nature stations set up all around where you can use your senses to explore. There is also a short, paved trail that goes around the park, which is wide and smooth enough for strollers and wheelchairs. The trail goes by a creek, which is nice. As of right now, this is the only sensory-friendly park in the state of Ohio! It's definitely worth a visit.

Along the path are a variety of interactive stations that are also designed to be accessible. If you start near the entry sign, you'll find a Little Free Library, which, on our recent visit, was loaded with a lot of great kids options. Just ahead is a variety of benches and a little music garden, featuring musical instruments that can be played, and you can also interact with the Rough Bark Tactile Display to learn more about different tree barks. A little further down are the cutest animal looking instruments that can also be used. As you continue down the path, you find a swingset with a variety of swings that include both traditional and accessible options. There's a nice little shaded bench area with information about the creek, Fetter's Run, that can be seen from the location. As you proceed along, a very exciting find is the Treehouse, which is built within the forest trees as opposed to up in one, which allows a wheelchair ramp to make it accessible. This overlooks the creek and has things to explore, like neat nature art and a second floor (not accessible) with a fire pole. At the end of the path is a shelter house with picnic tables and nearby grills. Most, if not all, of the signage included Braille translations, as well. There is a large parking lot here, but I do note that this is located behind a school, so I'm not sure how that would affect parking for a visit during a school day.

This is a smallish municipal park with a player area, but what was really important to us is that…read moreit's an excellent place for a put-in for kayaking the Big Walnut Creek. Just north of here there is a low-head dam currently situated on the Creek. so we needed to avoid that structure, and selected this park as a starting point. there is a nice boat ramp, and although there have been quite a bit of rain the water level had receded overnight, so we had to walk the boats out to the center of the creek. After a little scooting around we were on our way. This is a great launching point, and it made for a great float of about 1-1/2 to 2 hours into downtown Gahanna. Our kayak takeout was Friendship Park, just south of the Creekside area, but you can read all about that and another one of my reviews.

Searching for parks on a hot day, for Baby K to play at, we went to half a dozen. We needed one…read morethat was not busy (at least, not crowded with kids at the playground), that had some shade on the playground so she didn't burn her legs on the slides, and where Dada didn't have to walk far from the parking lot. We got all that here, and so much more. There is a fair-sized playground with several slides, climbing areas, swings, etc. And: an obstacle course with logs, tunnels, little houses to play in, and more. Wow. Plus it's a great park otherwise: shade, plus green space, a shelter with bathrooms, tables, a rain garden, places to fish by a big pond, paths, basketball courts and playing fields, and more. Beautifully laid out, full of fun, we will definitely be back.

I often participate in Metroparks Winter Hike programs, and had to visit this location in the evening after work. Often being accompanied by my dogs, I felt completely comfortable hiking in this intimate welcoming park solo.

One of Columbus is smaller metro parks, this little park has a very nice paved loop. It also has a…read morepark office with limited hours as I found out today when I was there to get my winter hike series card punched and it was locked. I still enjoyed myself and took two loops around the curvy trail with very slight inclines and declines. There's a large play area for kids and a caboose set up on rails. The bench in the middle of nowhere Demanded it's picture be taken and I actually sat there quietly for a few minutes. It was very restorative I would return to this park to walk my dog on the loop.
