To date, I'm quite happy with the purchase of an adorable striped cotton/linen dress and a silk screen scarf with a distinctive hare pattern that I'm constantly getting complimented on. I had a ton of fun in here trying things on and looking around. The customer service was incredibly friendly, but not pushy or aggressive. To be honest, I feel like a lot of boutique shops in Victoria have a snobby "you're not good enough to be in my shop" attitude, and it was so refreshingly lovely not to encounter any of that here. I'm a fan.

Honestly, this one caught my attention solely because of it's adorable & "easy-going" sounding name. Milkman's Daughter? Adorable! Sounds like a shop I would love to visit. It was not even a block away from the cafe we were enjoying coffee. Appealing storefront & we were warmly greeted (and compliment) by the nice gal working that day! I felt welcomed & comfortable browsing the shop. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything neither was I made to feel inferior as some boutiques may make some people feel. But the eco-fashion industry has undergone a revolution and today's organic apparel is some of the hippest, trendiest and most comfortable clothing around. I visited this Victoria shop and bought outfits that quickly became my favourite to wear, namely because they were so comfortable. Organic clothing, which can be made from bamboo, cotton, help, corn or soy, feels like a second skin. It doesn't irritate or scratch; it's entirely natural. The prices are no more expensive than your typical boutique or streetwear shop. Cool brand names are Thieves, Twigg & Hottie, Myco Anna and Stewart Brown, which are all Canadian but for Stewart Brown, which comes from California. Whether you have allergies to certain materials or you choose to embrace social and environmental causes related to organic producers, this is a great place to shop for style, comfort and a sustainable world.

Like the incense had depressed my mood and stripped me of my favourite type of therapy - the retail variety.

In addition to the store design, I was taken aback with the clothes selection and how it's tastefully organized on the rack and the shelves. Kudos to Natalie and Maria! And what a service! Though I should note that this mall in general impressed me, and controverted my generally low opinion of malls in general by having a designated parking space or two (perhaps more) for expectant mothers or those with small children and food court fare that did not suck monkey balls. Who knew this could happen? Canada, this mall--combined with fantastic local offerings like Coffee Crisp-- totally makes up for the whole mountie thing. But back to Bellissima. Much of the clothing here is stunning, and ranges from diva attire to the merely gorgeous. Most of it is far from mundane, and it's wildly expensive. Superior materials, like rayon blends with leather edging, super soft and supple leathers, and telltale sartorial flourishes like extra seams and intuitive darts suggest--correctly--that these clothes did not originate on this continent. Most (if not all) of their inventory comes from Italy, and it absolutely lives up to its name. Really hard to not be irresponsible in this store.
