I am so absolutely impressed with the Madison Agency. I was hesitant to use a temporary nanny while we were traveling to NYC as I am neurotic and like to get to know someone slowly before trusting them with my child. However, I knew I would need help with our daughter being in NYC for 2 weeks. I could not have been more impressed with our nanny Rusel. She was so incredible with our daughter, so proactive in addressing her needs. Our daughter is super shy and does not feel comfortable with new people (she's 16 months). Within 2 hours she was sitting on Rusel's lap and did not even cry when I left the apartment. Rusel took our daughter on age appropriate outings, explored her interests, and engaged her constantly. I wish I could bring her home with us. In the 2 weeks we were in NYC I saw our daughter's language improve, her communication skills improve and her comfort zone expand in meeting other kids at the park (something she doesn't even do with me at home). I could not have been happier with the Madison agency. I cannot wait to come back to Nyc and use their services. The benefit to hiring an agency as well is that they send replacements if your nanny cannot make it. Our nanny had to miss a day and Jackie offered another replacement nanny for the day- who was also incredible. I'm really surprised that Jackie and the Madison Agency have so many good reviews. I contacted Jackie with high hopes after reading all of this and was very disappointed. The only candidate she provided us was not in the price range we had requested, and when we asked if she had alternate options we were told we were asking for too much (though we did not ask for anything out of the ordinary). On top of all this, she was rude at times and condescending. A friend recommended a different agency and the experience was night and day. Initially I received a call from the agent very quickly, only to find the agent was very rude and unprofessional. She spoke down to me almost to the point of yelling. I found the website to be limited and some of the links didn't work and since the agent requested that we do two interviews same day, we did them (still with reservations about how unprofessional the agent was on the phone). One was with a lovely Nanny who requested that we add her on WhatsApp since FaceTime wasn't working, so we did and she called. When we simply thanked her for the good interview (the polite thing to do after an interview), we then got a very unprofessional (hostile) note from the agent dropping us despite both nannies expressing interest in working with us. I had real concerns about the lack of legitimacy and professionalism already, but the nanny seemed professional (if not scared to say much about anything due to the agency). This agency charges what appears to be an exorbitant fee as well and I'm sure doesn't share that with the nanny, so we simply asked if they agency could reduce the fee to what appears to be market (and still a lot of money) and passed along good feedback and one of the interviews through the agency. Then we received a highly unprofessional note from the agent, who I now know I would never hire in my wildest dreams. I feel very concerned for the nannies who work with this agency. If the agent treats potential clients who are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars with such disrespect, how are the Nannie's treated? I sensed that they were so scared to say anything during the interviews due to their unprofessional and overbearing agent bosses. read more

Jackie was recommended to me from my law partner, whose sister had used this agency. It was the best decision we made about how we will care for our newborn. The agency introduced us to two candidates and we had to make a decision very fast or else one of them would be gone--my recommendation for expectant parents is to plan way ahead (at least 3 months before due date) because the best nannies are usually booked out. Luckily we won the lottery with our nanny and the reference that Jackie provided told us as much. We decided to pay our nanny more than the agency required, and that wound up costing us more in agency fees which was based on what we actually paid. But in the end, what mattered most was that the first six months of our baby's life was full of love and joy, and we learned a lot from our nanny about babies, from feeding to bathing to just about everything. Do NOT use this agency. The pigeonholed me into hiring someone after a one day trial. I paid them $18,000 for a fee for a housekeeper that they marketed as a nanny/housekeeper combo. She was not a nanny in the least. Unfortunately, after 10 weeks of trying to make it work, we decided to let her go because we have 3 children under 5 and needed help with them. The agency promptly let me know that I did not have many days left under which they needed to find a replacement (of course they weren't going to find anyone when they had no incentive as they had already been paid.). I was sent two prospects who were both live in (we wanted live out) and was suggested that I buy one a car so she could travel to and from. I have not heard from them since. They took $18k and I had someone for 10 weeks. I have never written a review before but I am truly horrified by this business. read more

We used Madison Agency to provide a temporary nanny/baby sitter for our 14 month old son. We visit our parents in New York City several times a year and it was a complete game changer to have a wonderful nanny to help us during our stay! Our nanny was by far the most warm and wonderful caretaker we have ever had for our son! She immediately got down on his level and engaged with him in a way that made him comfortable and happy right away! He tends to have pretty bad separation anxiety and within a day was waving goodbye to us when we walked out the door (at home he screams and cries when we leave). Madison agency is by far the best agency in the world. I called them when I was 4 days after birth and so exhausted and sleep deprived I thought I would crash. Jackie heard the desperation and sent me a nurse within 2 hours that same day!! Not only did she send a nurse so rapidly and efficiently, the nurse she sent was the most incredible, professional, capable, kind and caring baby nurse I've ever had. This was my fourth child and I've never met a nurse as amazing as the nurse Jackie sent to us. When this nurse had an emergency and had to leave for a few days, Jackie again efficiently and swiftly replaced her with another wonderful nurse. Madison agency nurses are very well trained and proficient in new born care, they are very professional and hard working and I never thought I'd say this as it was very expensive, but their nurses are genuinely worth every single penny. Knowing that my baby was in the best possible hands and so well looked after put my mind at east and let me really heal and get my energy back. I will never forget Jackie's help in sending me a God-sent nurse and I will forever be grateful to her for saving me in my complete exhaustion and vulnerability.
