Madera community, I wrote a review yesterday under the Madera Police Department (@MPD) and today when I checked their reviews they had already deleted it. So, technically they delete TRUTHFUL reviews and keep the ones that praise them. But are these praising reviews real (from the community) or made up by them?
I'll keep it short this time:
The officer (the shift supervisor) acts are unjustifiable.
An incident happened this past weekend. An indigenous man was part of this accident. And he spoke no English. As I was helping translate, this police officer just rapidly spoke on the three or four (not sure exactly since he was vomiting the information) and did not care if I had captured the content. Then without waiting for me to translate, he walks away towards his vehicle with his other partner and laughs.
Laughing. (And chatting)..?!
I felt belittled.
I asked him for his name. And he somehow threw in that he was "Mexican"- in other words, he was indirectly stating that there was no way that he can possibly degrade someone from his "so-called community because he's Mexican." I understand that the Latinx community is extremely diverse. There are Latinx who are white-passing and privileged and those such as the indigenous Latinx community that still till this day face oppression. And this act of degradation and invisibility that this Madera police officer did this past weekend was brutal.
Again, like I said to you, what population in Madera County are you serving?
This indigenous man should have not been treated differently, which HE WAS because of his educational background, language, his indigenity, and social status..
Every person should be treated equally regardless of one's educational background, color, race, language, sex, social status, etc. And every individual that is part of an incident has the right to know what their situation is.
