I have had readings done by…read moreboth vedic as well as western astrologers, I am very picky when it comes to giving a reading a five star because I sampled different readers between New York City and Portland Oregon in the past five years, I am giving my first reading with Julie a "one star" based on the following: 1. The information The information she gave me during my first reading was just so so; I did choose a general reading just to get a feel of the astrologer, when you want to consider spending more than $100 on a reading you want to make sure he or she is good, otherwise even a $90 sample reading is waste of your dollars. 2. The reading itself felt rushed There are other astrologers out there that offer a free 30-minute consultation to make sure you are happy with the person you consult with before you purchase a reading; my reading lasted about 45 minutes, it felt like she just wanted to be done with the reading as soon as she gave me all the general information she could give me, it gave a very "generic feel" afterwards and that contributed to a one star rating. 3. Sales right after first reading I think if you want to attract repeat customers you need to make sure you gave your very best to your first reading with a new client; Julie started selling me her forecast readings that range from $150 - $200 plus shipping and handling towards the end of my first reading, why would I consider a more expensive reading if I'm not impressed with the first one? Not mentioning she is the first astrologer that tried to sell me other readings during a consultation. 4. Tone of a reading I have had so many readings done in the past, I know when somebody puts sincerity into the craft of giving somebody an astrology reading, or not; the soul of a reading is absent working with Julie, I am spoiled having had readings done by astrologer friends of mine who taught in online astrology schools, the quality of the reading you get from someone who treats it like a soul-based business is different from someone who treats it as interpretation of your transits. Conclusion: Yelpers, if you value your dollars I would start googling other astrologers you can have a more satisfying reading experience with, settling for less is not necessary in the astrologers market, Julie contacted me right away when I submitted my payment for my first reading, and I never heard from her via e-mail when I contacted her to receive my Dropbox file for the recording. I am very surprised, this kind of post reading customer care is totally unprofessional.

This place is only open when an event is happening, at least for now. I went to see a concert and…read moreit was outside so the staff let you bring in your own chairs but there are no in and out privileges so once you go in you can't leave and come back in. The staff doing the security checks didn't seem like they were paying much attention to what they were doing. Only one person was using the metal detecting wand so it took a little while to get to everyone in line, but I saw a few people walk around this guy and go straight to the other staff member who was scanning the tickets at the entrance. I assumed they were other staff or crew for the bands but nope, there were attendees like everyone else. Don't know why the other security staff just let them walk past. Sometimes the security guy vaguely waved the wand in someone's general direction without really checking and that was good enough, I guess. The security guy waved the metal detector wand around me and nothing seemed out of the ordinary but then the guy jammed the wand into my crotch. I was startled but he said I could proceed. I bet he wasn't even looking where he was pointing the wand. I thought about getting something to eat but the menu only had limited offerings which were a chili dog, Indian taco, frito pie, fries, and ice cream sandwiches. The carnival food didn't appeal to me so I settled for an $8 drink during my time at the concert. Outside food and drink are not allowed here. The venue has two outdoor stages, the big dome-shaped one in the back and a smaller platform off to the side by the entrance. There are plastic tables and chairs placed around the area and some metal tables and chairs on the patio under the shade structure. There was a tent off to the side selling the same items that were offered inside but out here you had to pick up your food from a small window farther along the building's exterior. I found it kind of funny that there was a designated smoking section by the fence but there were plenty of people smoking all around the area. It was raining during the concert but that didn't bother me or anyone else as it looked like almost everyone brought umbrellas and rain gear. I may visit again if there is another concert I want to see taking place here.

Our visit did come with one disappointment that I hope the museum can help future visitors avoid..... A heads up for Mark Maggiori fans: * My husband and I drove two days from California hoping to see an original Mark Maggiori painting. * The Taos Art Museum is one of the first places that appears on Google when searching for where to view his work in Taos. * The museum's website and Google listing also suggested that his artwork was part of the collection. Unfortunately, after speaking with a docent, we learned that the museum hasn't displayed a Mark Maggiori painting in many years! They then referred us to try Parsons Gallery of the West, but they didn't have any of his work either. The gallery manager explained that Mark Maggiori is now representing himself and is no longer exhibiting locally. I completely understand that exhibitions change over time, but I would kindly encourage the museum to update its website and work with Google to correct this information. It would save other visitors from making a special trip expecting to see artwork that is no longer on display. In the end, I learned I probably should have called ahead, but I also trusted the museum's website and Google's information. Hopefully this review helps the next Mark Maggiori fan avoid the same disappointment. Despite that, the museum itself is well worth visiting. The Fechin House alone is an incredible piece of art and history!
